Jaxon. I knew Layla was fast but, damn, she has gotten really fast. I pulled the cash out of my pocket and threw it on the table before jumping over the small iron fence and racing after her. I had watched her run down in the direction we had come from so I start that way. Following her scent it becomes stronger the closer I get to the forest, her safe space. I don't know what came over her, why she freaked out like that, but I am determined to find out. I can hear her sobbing before I actually see her. Before me is clearly a scared, broken, mess of a girl. Her hands, pants, and shirt are covered in dirt as she sits there on her butt sobbing hysterically. Her dirty hands cover her face and mudd drips from her wrists down her elbows from the dirt mixing with her tears. Her hair is draped around her shoulders and her waves quake with her hiccuping sobs.
