BFTA 41 He was majestic, beautiful, daring, and deadly. Cassy couldn’t look away from him as he stalked forward. His fur was red. She had never heard of or seen a wolf with red fur, but Lino. . .his wolf was divine. In the face of Alpha Lino, the other wolves cowered away. Even the black wolf retreated a step away from Cassy, noting the threat that stood before him. Lino was bigger and stronger. More than twice the black wolf’s size. He would devour him and shred him to pieces if he wished to. Lino growled, and the sound of it made Cassy purr. Not Cassy. Pax. Pax was closer to the surface than ever before. The moon. . .Cassy glanced at the sky. The Lunar Eclipse was minutes away. The closer it drew, the lesser control she had over herself. It was the same for the rest of the wolves surrounding her. Even Lino. Though, she wondered why he had come here instead. Perhaps he was in search of Eleanor. It didn’t matter. What did matter, however, was that she was in the w

BFTA 42 Cassy would no doubt tell Lino everything that had transpired between them and he would come hunting for her with the intent of killing her. He would kill her for killing Cassy and murdering their unborn child. She knew Lino. He showed no mercy when it came to the life of his loved ones. He would not care that’s she had done everything for him The only way out was taking Cassy from him. He would never admit it to himself but Eleanor was not a fool. The mating bond had nothing to do with the look in his eyes when he gazed upon her. He was in love with her. He had been in love with her for a long time. Regardless of the lies she had filled his head with during Cassy’s disappearance, she had never stopped believing that she would return. He had never stopped looking for her. He went out every single night, under the thick and the worst of the storms, searching for her. He had been wild and unrelenting. And he hadn’t know what she was to him yet. He was

Cassy stirred, smiling even before she awoke. She hadn’t slept so well in a long tiime. . .and she felt incredible. Incredibly warm and safe. Her eyes cracked open and she yawned, stretching, and her eyes met with bright hazel-green eyes and she yelped, jerking back. Lino laughed heartily, satisfied with himself for nearly scaring her to death. The man was a creep. She recalled everything that transpired, and while she had decided that she wasn’t going to pretend anymore about him, she couldn’t suddenly get used to him peering into her face when she was sleeping. Or get used to the fact that he was her mate. “Get off!” She squealed when Lino rolled atop her and pinned her underneath him. “No, Cass,” He said, grinning, and he licked her right cheek with his hot tongue. Cassy twisted, shifting and twisting to get out from under him, but Lino seemed to be in a playful mood because he nuzzled her neck and flicked her nose hard enough that it stung. “Oww,” she groan

Lino followed the freshest trail that he could find of Eleanor but it was scattered about in numerous direction. It was almost as though, she had been expecting him to come after her and she had scattered her tracks and scent so that he wouldn’t be able to follow her. Still, she couldn’t have scattered it so perfectly all by herself. The peaks were vast and led to countless mountains and forests that even he would be cautious to go through, lest he got lost. She couldn’t have covered this much area if she had been alone. He paused in his trouncing and sniffed the earth at the center of the forest. Around him lay five different directions in which she could have gone. All of them were fresh tracks, though three out of the five smelled faint. . .subdued, like someone had carried a piece of her clothing. He disregarded those paths and he was left with two. He itched his hind with a paw as he tried to sort through every single detail he knew about El. He had spent years with h

Eleanor drove her claws into Cassy’s chest and blood sprayed. She didn’t mind getting herself covered in Cassy’s blood or killing the woman again if it meant she could escape Lino’s wrath. Her plan had depended heavily on Sasha and she hadn’t expected that the woman would hand her over to Cassy on a silver platter—after everything she’d done. Indeed they were cunning and crafty and would never do anything if it didn’t benefit them. Solely. She should have known better. She had sought Sasha out to help kill Cassy and place Lino underneath another spell. She would not let Cassy have him. Lino was hers. Till death. Once Cassy died, Lino would feel a pain so great he would wish nothing but to follow her into the great beyond. It would have been easy to get past his mental walls and just as easy to restructure what was behind it. Sasha had said she could do it. She could make Lino forget about the night before. She had banked on that and it had flopped. Terribly. Lino was n
