"What are you doing here?" I gulped standing up as I turned around to find uncle Jonathan looking at me with hatred like always. He didn’t like my father as after his demise the hatred tuned towards me. Patriarchy! There were only two feelings in his eyes whenever he used to look at me. Hatred and anger! "You drowned our name in the neighbourhood by running away and now you are here with this unfortunate face of yours you little piece of..." GARETH BLADE'S POV: I reached mansion before time as it wasn't time for dinner. I saw Sophia in the garden as she was alone indicating, she hadn't come yet. A frown captured my face as I called Knowles exiting the lift. "Where are you?" I asked Knowles as he assured me that everything was fine and Ava was inside the house with her aunt. Her uncle wasn't home and that was good sign as I sat on the couch sighing but there was a smile on my face. I was constantly smiling since I had decided about myself. Even the members in the meeting were giving me weird looks seeing me working fast and concluding the meeting as soon as possible. I tried my best to purse my lips in a thin line to stop me from smiling like a maniac.

The warm breeze was flowing as she was taking pictures of the roads guided by palm trees. Gareth kept stealing glances at her as her enthusiastic state was making him feel surreal—a rare thing for him. They reached the rest house beside the beach as it was beautifully built with a vintage look from outside. Ava face was awestruck seeing the small but welcoming restroom. There was an open kitchen in the lounge as the vast corridor was leading to the various rooms. The guards that received them at the airport placed their luggage in the master bedroom as Ava followed them. There was a glass wall opposite to the bed showing the waves of the sea dancing rhythmically with warm breeze flowing. Her heart was readily pumping inside her chest and so was her body for him but her mind was denying or it was the shy girl inside her keeping her away from letting him complete his game. "I r-read a n-novel." She told as he shook his head in amazement. "Did that man you read about was good or bad? Should they have to do this act you read from the novel repeatedly?" He teased as he caressed her button nose with his. "They were heroes. L-let me go now." She turned crimson as obviously the heroes had to do this. The story would be incomplete without that but she couldn't confess that to him.

The crowd was shimmering in the lights of the flashes. Photographers were scattered to capture every moment of the inauguration. Ava was sitting with wives of renowned businessmen as she was feeling left out. It's almost an hour since they had reached the ceremony as she sat down with some of the ladies as her feet were hurting. Gareth introduced her to few people and then went away as these ceremonies were for making money and gaining power according to him. She knew he must be looking at her from the room where he had disappeared. After the last times incident he was careful but still left her to stay among the women. He didn't want her to get bored with him doing his business talks.
