As soon as Jenny closed the door to the room in her boarding house, Owen frowned. ―Is this it?‖ She nodded. ―I know it‘s small, but it‘s all Jeremy and I needed. Well, until now.‖ His gaze drifted from the small boy to the two beds. One was his, obviously, and the other was hers, but this wasn‘t what he expected. He cleared his throat. ―Can I talk to you...‖ He glanced at the space that consisted of a dresser and a washstand. ―Over there,‖ he finally said, pointing at the window on the other side of the room, which was only a few paces away.
