Sophie shook her head as she gave her father an apologetic look. “Actually, I think I will stay for a bit longer…at least until mum comes back upstairs,” she replied. “You know, I haven’t seen mum in quite a while now.” She added quietly, biting her lower lip uncertainly as she glanced downward. “I…want to know how she’s doing.”He let out a soft sigh before giving her a gentle smile. “Alright, then,” he said softly, his voice laced with worry. “If you want to stay, that’s fine.”“Thank you, Dad.” Sophie replied gratefully.“Of course.
