CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

A single touch of hands with Grant can easily make me lose focus. Get your head together - MUNA. MUNA I sat at my dressing table, staring at my reflection in front of me. I still couldn't believe it was my engagement party today. I was dressed in a scarlet red designer dress with a sweetheart neckline. It wasn't too tight, but hugged my curvy figure, perfectly. My long hair was packed in a beautiful high bun. I had insisted on doing my make-up myself, and I had to say I did a great job. The day Grant got me this dress was the first time he spoke to me since the night we argued after dinner with his parents. In his exact words, "the dress was made for me. It was something he could hardly wait to see on me." Asides from today being our engagement day, it was also Grant's birthday. His parents were throwing a huge party for us at their mansion. I stood to adjust my gather and stockings with my feet placed on stool and at that exact moment, Grant walked into my room. "Did you pose t

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Something about Muna's smile makes me forget that this is only fake- Grant GRANT The kiss Muna and I shared was totally unnecessary, but I wasn't sure why I felt the need to do it. I guess after seeing Richard stare at her so much, I just wanted to prove a point to him that she was all mine. The moment I pulled away, I noticed how confused Muna looked and the fact that lots of people were staring at us, taking photos. I quickly led Muna through the crowd and into the house. The entire place was decorated with pictures of Muna and I, making it look like ours was a long time love affair. "Your parents really did a great job. This place is amazing, but where did they get pictures of us from, especially the ones from when we were in secondary school?" Muna queried. I looked at the particular pictures she was referring to. She and I were dressed in our school uniforms with huge smiles on our faces. We had ice-cream cones in our hands and big smiles on our faces. That photo had been

Grant might be evil everyday, but not when I'm in danger. He might just become my knight in shining armour-Muna.MUNAI went upstairs to the bathroom to retouch my make-up and also get some space from the never-ending smiling and small talk Grant and I had to engage in throughout the party.Deciding to use the opportunity to pee, I got into one of the stalls, just as I was about to come out, I saw Grant walk in with Olivia."What is it that you have to say? Why must we speak in the bathroom?" He asked her."Are you for real?" She queried touching his chest fondly."What do you mean? I don't understand you?" He frowned, moving out of her reach."Are you seriously falling back into the trap of that witch?" She hissed."I hope you are not referring to my woman in such a manner? I do not appreciate your time, Olivia.""Of course I am. Why wouldn't I, she's a witch, she's so unfortunate. Everyone who's related or involved with her has ended up badly. Look at her father lying in the hospita

Leave it to Muna to pull of a neat disappearing act- Grant.GRANT "What do you mean by setting our wedding on my birthday?" Muna queried when we got back to my house after the party."What else could I possibly mean? I hope you haven't forgotten that I call all the shots here," I warned her, pouring myself some whiskey."I haven't forgotten, but still-""Shhh, let me remind you again because it seems as though you've forgotten. Your father is sick and has a history of tax evasion, I have all the evidence against him. If I just let out word about his crime, he's going to jail and I'm sure you wouldn't want that, now would you?" I threatened her.She gasped in disbelief that I could actually do that. The look in her brown eyes showed how scared she was and I almost felt bad that she was afraid of me."I wanted to ask you something," she said avoiding my eyes."What is it?" I queried, taking a gulp of the drink."Why did you do that earlier? I mean, why did you have to endanger yourself

Grant might just have a human conscience after all- Muna.MUNA'S POVI got out of the flight from Nigeria back to London feeling extremely tired and took a cab straight to Grant's house. It was kind of a long flight so when I got there, I took a nap in my room after greeting Maria and Joseph Bethany.I woke up to a migraine and severe cramps in my abdomen and lower back. They had become kind of a regular routine for me for a while now. The migraines were always worse whenever I had my period. It was expected to come up tomorrow, so I guess that explained the severe migraine.I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. After brushing up, I slowly moved to the closet to change into comfortable sweatpants and a long sleeved shirt. The pain got worse and so I went over to the bed to rest for a while. I guess I must have slept off once again because I opened my eyes to see Grant standing in front of me, where I lay in bed."Why didn't you tell me you were traveling to Nigeria for a week?

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

GRANTI woke up to Muna's voice which sounded like she was annoyed.I had no idea how I had fallen asleep, but I did anyway. What I wasn't sure of was her reason for being so upset."What the hell are you doing in my bed?" I finally heard her ask."Don't you remember what happened? You allowed me to stay here yesterday," I replied, wiping my tired eyes.I got very little sleep yesterday because I had been watching her almost all night long."That's impossible, get out of my room this instant!" She yelled."What's wrong with you? Why are you acting this way? I took care of you throughout the time you were having cramps.""Let me be, Grant, I don't need you confusing me about your true intentions," she said brushing her hair back in frustration. She looked so young this morning and fragile. It was then that I noticed she had lost a little bit weight.I came closer to her and held her by the shoulders, trying to ignore how the nightgown she had on was showing of her beautiful curves."I'

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

MUNA Seeing Grant's possessive side makes me wish it wasn't just all about his pride and instead about his feelings for me- Muna "I didn't expect Tobi to do that. We were at a fundraiser for his mother's charity foundation and he told me he had a disagreement with Rainer. I was only comforting him when all of a sudden, he kissed me. You must know that Tobi is from a wealthy and influential family. Everything he does gets caught on camera," I explained. Grant watched me for seconds without saying anything. It was as though he was trying to check if I was telling the truth or not. "Why would he do that?" He queried. "I have no idea either. He said he had and Rainer had this huge fight because he couldn't deny his feelings for me anymore. I honestly wasn't expecting that from him. They were both so great together." "Definitely not great enough for him to keep his eyes off you. So how do you feel about his confession? Do you love him too?" He asked with a dark expression on his face.

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

GRANTThese lies between Muna and I have a weird way of seeming real to me and I have no idea why- Grant.I wasn't sure why I felt the need to kiss Muna like that. I just knew that after seeing several photos of her kids with that annoying friend of hers, Tobi, I was moved to show her that she was mine.I confirmed that she felt that electrifying attraction to me just like I did with her. At first she tried to remain unresponsive to my kiss, but she eventually relaxed into it. Unfortunately, my parents whom I love all the time, but definitely not now for interrupting my moment with Muna came in. Muna practically leaped out of arms when she heard them cough. I looked to see the excited face my parents and Olivia who looked totally displeased by the sight of Muna and I kissing."Mum, Dad, Olivia, what are you guys doing here? You just ruined the mood," I frowned, making my displeasure at seeing them obvious."Get over it Son, I'd say we couldn't have picked a better time. Who knows wh

MUNA "Please hold on a second Muna, I'm afraid I might not be able to follow you guys into the showroom. There's been an issue at Sarah's Delights. My assistant just told me there's been a power outage at the factory. It's not good news, I need to rush over there now. Olivia will be here with you," Sarah said after coming off the phone. As soon as she said that I felt uncomfortable about being alone with Olivia, I wasn't sure why, but there's something about her that I don't like. The ride to the showroom was quite long. Olivia had made it seem as though it was somewhere close, but it was quite a distance getting there. The traffic on the way contributed to us getting there later in the afternoon. "Okay Mum, it's fine," I forced a smile. "Don't be too sad, Grant would have come with us, but as they say, it's bad luck for the bride to be seen in her wedding dress by the groom before the wedding," Sarah said softly. "There's no problem, this friend of mine has the best designs of w

CHAPTER THIRTY

MUNAAll the way back to Grant's house, my mind kept going back to what Olivia said. Who could Elizabeth be and why do I have to find out who she is before getting married to Grant? All my efforts to make Olivia talk about her were fruitless as she remained silent throughout the ride and only started talking when I asked her about how she came up with her interesting stories. We talked at length and I began to change my previous opinion of her."I have to get to the publishing house, it was nice spending time with you today," Olivia said after we both got out of the car."I also had a good time too, thanks a bunch for the dresses," I smiled at her."It's fine. Trust me, I did it more for my own peace of mind," she laughed."If you say so then, aren't you going to come in for a bit? Grant and Dad must be back from their shopping.""No, I need to get to the publishing house to see my editor. I'm not too keen on seeing so much of Grant for now. Especially after I made a huge fool of myse
