Luisette slipped into the tower prison later into the night. Ruben had been sleeping but was woken by the grating of the lock in the steel outer door. As soon as he saw Luisette’s face, etched by the lantern’s light he carried, Ruben sat up with a groan, turning to place his feet on the concrete floor, his eyes a cold hard glare. “Finally.” He muttered.
