Chapter 2 Nicholas's POV The moment she stepped into the house I could not help but notice her. I was drawn to her with a force I have never experienced in my 200 years of existence, even though I did not look a day older than 23, thanks to being a vampire. The party had been fun, not as fun as expected, somehow I was not at the top of my game tonight. I've flirted with a few girls whom thanks to my vampire aura and might I add my irresistible looks, were practically falling all over me. The strange thing though was that I didn't even care like I used to. Something in me felt numb, making me almost regretting that I allowed Hunter, my only human friend, to throw this party. However from the moment I saw the gorgeous brunette in her pretty shirt and her crazy looking friend, I thanked my stars. I stood upstairs as usual and from this point I had a perfect view of my mansion and everything that was going on. Plus I could hear every single thing happening but at nights like this I

Chapter 4Clara.I'm sure I would have fainted if that was my thing, but no, I was as strong headed as they come. However there are some things that should not be discovered or discussed while standing and I felt like my legs would not support me for long if I just stood there."I need to sit down," I told him. "Oh my! Of course, follow me," he said. Then he led me to the sitting room and it looked so beautiful. One would not imagine that just a few hours ago it was full to the brim with hormone driven party mongers and alcohol in every corner. One look around and I could tell that everything here screamed expensive. From the softest sofa I have ever sat on to the beautiful curtains and vintage work of art here and there. I knew a thing or two about old stuff, even though Lydia continuously teased me about it every chance she had. Nicholas called this his home, could this all really belong to him? Now I understand why he could wear socks to the party. It was probably just another

Chapter 5Nicholas"I came to see my son but I can see that you have company," he said, referring to Clara. Trust my dad to make a famous entrance like this. The one and only Henry Young always making life a living hell for me. I mean he already stole my soul and he is bent on stealing any chance of happiness I could have, still I called him dad.Henry was not my biological father, truth be told none of my family was actually related to me by blood. We all came together as one just because we had one thing in common and that is the fact that we are all vampires. He was the man that made me a vampire and I pretty much learnt everything I know about this world from him. Oh how I loathe him so much for what he turned me into, this blood sucking beast with no mercy, no real emotion, no compassion. Even though he did what he did out of some twisted compassion to save my life, still, I hated him."Why didn't you tell me you were coming? You know the rules!," I reminded him. "Yes I know

Chapter 8Nicholas It was great seeing her admire the gorgeous restaurant. From the moment she stepped out of the limo, she has been completely blown away. The place was beautiful, I wouldn't lie, but it was strange because my friend Alberto, a fellow vampire, decided to open it. Sure he was just the money behind the project, he left the cooking and actual running of the restaurant to a very known chef. Still I found it funny that he chose to open a restaurant of all businesses. Maybe he felt nostalgia for a time in the past when he could actually enjoy real human food. As vampires we could eat normal food alright but we derived no satisfaction from it. Still I never shy away from eating it just because I could. It was a necessary skill to get used to, especially when we try to blend with humans and make them think that we were just like them, even though we really weren't. However, knowing Alberto, I'm sure he had a very private area for just vampires, I just hope he wasn't doi

Chapter 10Nicholas It was torture seeing that crooked smile again. Why couldn't he just disappear forever?! "Are you following me?!" I glared at him."Come on, that's no way to greet your brother now, is it?" He said, with that constant slyness apparent in his voice. "Brother?!" Clara asked, obviously shocked. "Yes sweetheart, I'm his one and only brother, Kevin Young" he said, courtesying like he had even an ounce of self respect, "and you must be….? He asked, trying to get Clara's hand."None of your business," I said, stopping his hand from going any further. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "It's a club Nic, I came to have fun," he replied like I was stupid for even asking such a question. But that was not what I meant, and he knew that. Last I heard he was in Europe, tending to his numerous whores and being the perfect sinister vampire, now he was here, pretending that we were the perfect family. Sure he was just a 100 years old, but that was not an excuse for his e
