Chapter 61

The next day, no one made mention of the incident of yesterday. It was something that we all decided to ignore. And I'm thankful for that. I wasn't ready to talk. If anyone had asked me any questions, I was sure I was going to break down again. "Good morning." I greeted my parents as I saw them in the living room. I went to where my mom was sitting and plopped down next to her, resting my head on her. "How was your night? Did you sleep well?" I nodded. I opened my phone, and was bombarded with a lot of messages and calls. I started sorting them out according to the order in which they appear. First was Ava, who was asking about me. She wanted us to have a girls' night. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to make it, so I ignored it. Next was Jessica, who also sent the same message. I also ignored that. When I am well composed, I will talk to them. It wouldn't even be long before they found out I wasn't around anymore. I scrolled down to Richard's contact, my fingers hovering on it. I

Chapter 62

I woke up to the sunlight on my face and with a splitting headache. I rubbed my eyes with my hand, trying to clear my foggy eyes. The drink had been laced with wolfsbane in diluted quantities, which is capable of knocking one out. And I drank a lot. I tried to recall what happened at the party, but it came in short flashes. Betty had driven us home since she was the only sober one. My head was literally on fire, and I clutched it in hopes that it would relieve the pain. "Isabella!" My mom pounded on the door. "Are you awake?" I replied with a groan, the pounding increasing my headache. I hoped her sensitive ears would catch on. Thankfully, she did. "I am coming in." She walked in, and I'm sure she was shaking her head at what she saw. I was lying down, spread out like a starfish, half alive. I was very sure I had drool on my face. She sniffed in distaste, her nose up in the air. "Get up and take this for the headache." She said, producing a glass of water and a packet of painkiller

Chapter 63

I was in the sitting room, munching on some nuts while watching a series. My parents' were out, so I had the whole house to myself, and I was enjoying it. I was giggling at the character when the thought of Richard flashed through my mind. I had promised myself that I would call him today. I missed him a lot. The past two weeks have been hell without him. I was barely coping. I was just putting up a brave front because of my parents. But I was dying inside. My mom slumped on the chair. "Phew! That was stressful." I brought a glass of cold water and she drank it, sighing as it quenched her thirst. "Where is dad?" They had left together this morning for a neighboring pack, and it was unheard of that they weren’t seen together. "He was held up by some of his friends. I couldn’t wait any longer, so I had to leave." She went to get food from the kitchen, while I continued my series. "Isabelle?" She called my attention after she had eaten. "Huh?" "When will you be going back?" I froze

Chapter 64

It has been a while since I slept so peacefully. During the course of my sleep, I had snuggled closer to him, reveling in his body heat, and he had wrapped his hands around me. I woke up before he did, watching him as he slept. He woke up shortly after me, and I quickly closed my eyes and pretended I was still sleeping. I tried to control my breathing to appear so. I felt his breath on my face as he moved closer. I almost gave myself away as I felt his cold hands on my face, caressing me gently, and I unconsciously leaned towards it. He touched my lips and traced them down to my neck. Then I felt him lean closer to me, and he planted a kiss on my forehead. It was a soft whisper, but I could never forget those words. "I love you." My heart was threatening to burst out of its cage at that word. I needed a lot of will to calm my heart, or else I would risk blowing up my cover. He snuggled me even closer, wrapping his hands around me. Then I heard his chuckle, "Are you seriously going

Chapter 65

I awoke in pain, but it was the kind of delicious pain that can only come from being completely and utterly wrecked. All my muscles were sore, but in a good way. We had spent the whole of yesterday night familiarizing ourselves with each other's bodies. There was no iota of doubt that I was his. We had finished up late in the night, and we were just barely able to cover ourselves before we slept. I was tangled up with Richard; the blankets were thrown haphazardly on us. I could feel the dried cum on my thighs, and it was such a nasty feeling. I looked at Richard, who was still sleeping while snoring like a bear. He was worn out from yesterday's activities. I reached out and pinched his nostrils and it reduced. He must have been so tired; he had done most of the work, so I decided to let him sleep in. He groaned as he stretched before proceeding to squeeze me in the name of cuddling. His action exposed his torso and I gasped. His body was littered with finger marks. I managed to look

Chapter 66

We stayed with them for a while after we had eaten. We all gathered in the living room to watch TV while we waited for our food to digest. I wasn't really in a talking mood, so I stayed bundled up with Richard, sipping my drink while he talked with my dad. We were also trying to pass time. Betty had set a time for all of us to meet. They were so excited when I told them that Richard was around and insisted they see him. She also promised to bring her mate over so that I could get to know him. My dad had given us a car that we could use during our stay in the pack. So we drove back to the hotel to keep my bags and also change our clothes. Richard opted for a casual look because, according to him, he didn't want to appear too intimidating, so he was going to tone it down. He opted for jeans and a tee. I also opted for the same thing, so we could match. Because why not? We got into the car and started towards the eastern borders. We had planned to meet at a restaurant there. It was the

Chapter 67

I was changing and there was no stopping it. I screamed as my bones broke, only to realign again. Brown fur spread on my hands, covering every part of my body. I was panting like I'd run a marathon, and sweat was dripping to the ground. I screamed as I became enveloped in fur, my screams now changing to growls. My paw landed on the soft earth, and I shook myself free as I came. It has been a while since I was in this skin. I looked up, and Richard was looking at me with pride evident in his eyes. He came closer to me and touched me, scratching my neck. I mewled and leaned into his touch as his soft hands ran over my fur. If it were possible, I would be on my back, with my tongue out in the air. "Welcome back, Kiayra. You did well today. I am proud of you." I beamed at the compliment, barking to show that it was appreciated. "Good girl." He said, before he moved away, and soon he was shifting. His shifting was as fluid as water, and before the man stood the black-grey beast. He cam

Chapter 68

"Jessica!" Richard yelled at the figure that had been caught locking lips with another lady. "Richard? You are back. When did you get back?" She asked with a shaky high-pitched voice. "I just came back now, but that is not the important question. What are you doing here in the dark? And why is someone shoving their tongue down your throat, close to the stairs leading to my room?" He thundered, his voice increasing with each word. "No, Richard, I can explain. It isn't what you think." "And what can you explain, young lady? Is this what you do whenever I am not around. Shoving your tongue down every available Tom, Dick, and Molly, apparently." I was going to comment that she is a grown adult and can do whatever she wants to do. Besides, he isn't the right person to be complaining about it. He didn’t exactly set a good example. But I decided to keep quiet. There's no need to provoke him any further than he already is. I will just watch how it unfolds and intervene when need be. "

"I would like to mate your sister." Audrey said, without preamble. "As you already know, we are mates and we are still yet to do the mating ceremony. I would also like you to grace the occasion." "No." Everyone looked at Richard with shocked faces and an agape mouth. "And what is your reason for refusal? We are mates; it is bound to happen." "I hardly know you, so I can't let my sister go out with a total stranger. I don't even know if she is a lesbian. I hope you aren't trying to force my sister into something she doesn't like." I looked at Richard in disbelief. What the hell is he even saying? "She is my mate, Richard. I have known for a while now." Jessi interjected, coming to stand in front of her mate. "And why didn't you think to tell me? Don’t you think I deserve to know? I am your brother and the Alpha. I need to know what is going on with you." Jessica frowned. "This was the exact reason why I refused to tell you, because I knew you would act like this." "Don't g

Chapter 70

I was with Richard in his office throughout the day; he had a lot of things to do, so I decided to stay and help. The pack was increasing rapidly, and the birth rate keeps increasing, considering the fact that werewolves have a high libido and rarely opt for contraceptives. Apparently, it hurts their egos to use it. Anyways, there was a need to expand some things; the construction of new houses was also ongoing, and I was currently taking note of the pack's defense and weapons. "Richard?" Ian's deep voice could be heard from outside. "You can come in; it is open." "Isabella!" A shrill scream that could only belong to one person was heard. Ava opened the door, ran inside to where I was, and crushed me in a hug. "How dare you just disappear from the face of the earth without telling me anything? Do you know how worried I was when I heard you leave? If you were finding it difficult, why didn't you tell me? I thought I was your friend." "I'm sorry, Ava; I had no plans of going away,
