September 17 Quinn has told me there are those among the wolfin' who can breed with wolfin and create a new generation. These breeders are called kin, sometimes referred to as kinfolk. Quinn was trying to explain how wolfin society works, and as best I can tell, the wolfin are created through genetics. There are recessive genes and dominant genes and they, the wolfin, can smell it on others. I still don't understand any of this; I am a little over my head, but I am learning. I have discovered something interesting though. It seems all kin are born with a mark, kind of an imprint on their body. Whether they are aware of the birthmark or birthright is unknown. I was told that all wolfin could smell their kin or kin from other tribes. They try to protect all of them, collecting them before the lyceums can. I found a legend on the internet about wolfmen marking their packs with symbols; I think this legend started when mankind found the marking on all breeders. Various packs beg

"Damn it." He pulled out his cell phone and called Quinn, and as normal Quinn didn't answer the phone.  Kasper left a message about the club.  “You really need to get here, I have a major problem.”  He put his phone in his back pocket just as Paul moved across the stage with his phone to his ear. Paul watched Kasper for a moment and called Patches.  "Hey man, Oshey is here with some loser. The loser looks like he could be trouble for you. Want me to call the boys in?" He paused, listening to the phone. "Yeah, she is here now." Another pause, "Okay I can do that for you." Paul hung up the phone. Patches had instructed him to drug Oshey and get the boys to handle the guy.  Paul stepped behind the side curtain and opened the table drawer, filling the needle with a solution.  If Patches wanted her dosed, he would make sure she was out. 

Kasper parked the car in the driveway and half jogged into the house carrying a bag of groceries. Once inside, he looked at Quinn walking down the stairs.  "Is she awake?" "She is awake and, in a mood, the ungrateful witch."  He said rubbing his chin where she had bitten him. Kasper walked to the side of the banister.  "She is not the only one in a mood it seems." Quinn frowned thinking about her.  "Tell me something about her, something that you haven't already told me?" "What do you want to know?  I met her a few weeks back, downtown.  I saw her mark and knew what she was, so I said hello.  She sings in a band, and as far as I can tell she is coming into her powers."

She blushed, turned away from him, and sat on the couch. "Why is that?"  There seemed to be a pull toward Quinn and Oshey wasn't entirely against fighting it. "I just do.  It is not often I get the company I find interesting.”  Quinn leaned to the desk. “I was thinking, last night you said some mean things about my friends, but I think you are right about one thing."  Oshey looked at her hands. "What's that?" Amusement surrounded Quinn as he thought about the fight they had. Looking across the room her eyes touched Quinn’s.  "I think Paul drugged me for Patches." Quinn nodded, walking from around the desk to sit on

It was nearly 0500 when Jimmy walked into the squad room.  His eyes were bloodshot and the dark circles under his eyes showed the stress of the night.  He slammed the door to his office before flopping into the chair.  He didn't even look as he reached for the coffeepot behind him.  He also poured the cup without looking."You look like shit."  His partner Natalia commented with a hint of amusement. "I just spent the last several hours with Miss 'I'll have your badge if you don't catch this killer' Mayor."  Jimmy sank into his chair with a heavy sigh. "That bad huh?" "You could say that.  She wants a city-wide curfew enforced by Friday if we don't have any leads."  Jimmy
