CHAPTER 11

Riella's POV.Tension.An awkward kind of tension had settled between us. I was still standing by the door, frozen to the core at what his eyes expressed. Those brown doe-shaped eyes that stared at me with warmth the day before now looked every inch like Voldemort.Anger-filled eyes. And the fact that he hadn't said anything for the past five minutes I'd been standing there yet he wouldn't stop looking at me, stop scrutinizing me with his eyes making me uncomfortable. But even at that, somewhere in my mind, my mind was still thinking of how hot he looked while angry. I had heard from Carolyn a couple of times about how hot some guys look when they are angry. I had always debunked that statement but as I stared at Harold Williams now, I could not help agreeing with her.Hot and angry. Not bad.I shook my head, catching myself in time. I was in a deep mess with him yet I was still thinking about how hot he looked. Should I even be doing that? What was wrong with me?“Sir.” I think I'd f

CHAPTER 12

Harold's POV. I was disappointed. I was extremely disappointed in Damien's choice of a personal assistant for the first time in my life. It was the first time he was doing something I didn't agree with. Coming into the office to meet an empty seat made anger course down my blood. Why would someone be this late on their first day? Especially after everything. After I asked that she always came to work early. My excitement felt like it had been punctured like a deflated ball and it had quickly been replaced with anger and disappointment. I couldn't help checking the time frequently even after I settled down in my office. I couldn't help checking to see when she would come in. And when she walked in at past nine, I didn't know why my anger multiplied. She stood there by the door, watching me and fidgeting with the things in her hand. It was so apparent that she was nervous with the way she kept shaking and wouldn't comport herself. Still, amid all that confusion, I could not help

CHAPTER 13

Riella's POV. I breathed out a sigh of relief as I walked out of the big boss's office. I couldn't believe that my little performance had gotten me back the job. I had just been so angry, so vexed about the unfair treatment that I poured out my mind in anger. I settled down on my chair. Before I left the office yesterday, I had been briefed concerning a lot of things that my job entailed so I already knew what to do with the files he gave out to me to handle. I placed it on my desk before getting on my feet. I grabbed the telephone on my desk and placed an order for the coffee he had requested for. The last thing I wanted was to be questioned again. I went on with what he had asked of me while waiting for the coffee. When a kitchen staff brought it in on a tray, I took it from her before going on to take it to his office. I positioned the tray in my right hand before sending a knock across the door. I waited for his voice to ask me to come in before opening the door and going in

CHAPTER 14

Harold's POV. I sealed the deal. I got the contract with Mr. Stephen Douglas but I couldn't help getting mad. I had completely forgotten about the other part of him which included that he was a big-time flirt in the business world. He didn't mind breaching contracts and agreements for anything in a skirt. If I Knew that he was going to show interest in Riella, maybe I wouldn't have let her stay for the meeting. But who was I kidding? Anybody would get interested in the lady. She was very pretty, no doubt about that. And the way she went about carrying herself with so much grace and authority could make one wonder if she was more than that. In essence, she wasn't. My loud blaring phone brought me out of my thoughts. I reached for it on the table and brought it to my view. Matilda was calling. “Hey, Matilda.” I smiled as I brought the phone to my ears. “Hello, Mister. How is it going?” She asked and I leaned back in my seat. “Fine. Bored of Damien's company already?” I teased,

CHAPTER 15

Riella's POVI was dazed.I knew and understood the way of the executives, but never did it occur to me that I could go on a lunch date with my boss. Well, it wasn't exactly a lunch date. It was just a period for us to get food into our stomachs after the heavy meeting.Besides, I hadn't exactly had anything to eat since all because of what had happened. I was sure he knew that. I gulped and crossed my legs over the other, completely restraining myself from having to watch him as he tucked himself out through the window, looking at the outside world. As soon as we got into the car, he had taken his position in the Bugatti Veyron, the latest model, and kept his eyes out of the car to the outside world. Though, even if I didn't want to notice, I couldn't help noticing how his gaze wavered every few minutes to glance at my feigned oblivious self.Setting my lips into a thin line, I forced myself to focus on my phone, busying myself with the trivia game I had started online. But somehow,

CHAPTER 16

Riella's POV.I waited for the waiter to place our order on the table, and smile at us in that formal yet friendly way before he spurned around on his heels and walked away.I sat down properly and took a bite of what had been served on our plates, eating and savoring the taste. It was only after I realized that a particular brown-eyed was boring holes into my skin that I stopped and grabbed the napkin on the table to wipe at my mouth.“What sir?” I asked when I saw the slight smirk playing on his lips as he watched me.“For someone who has something to say about this place, you sure are enjoying the food.” He started to eat too.“I haven't had anything to eat all day. Besides, what I wanted to say is that; The restaurant has a nice exterior and all of that but it doesn't mean the food will taste as good as the design.” I explained.“Hmm,” He chuckled lowly. “You sure have strong opinions.” He added.“And I don't intend to impose, sir. I was just saying. I have eaten good food from re

CHAPTER 17

Riella's POV.It's been a month. It's been a month since I started working for CEO Harold Williams and it had been more stressful than I imagined. Asides from my unwavering and sinful sexual fantasy with my boss which kept increasing each passing day, working with him had been a pleasure.I tucked a stray hair behind my ear, my fingers typing away on my laptop, hurriedly trying to finish the work I had been asked to do. There had been more work coming in than usual if I might add. The number of meetings and schedules we had to keep up with each passing day was enough to send me to my bed whenever I retired home for the day.I was so busy with what I was doing that I didn't realize or hear the clicking sound of the heels digging into the tiles and the approaching footsteps coming toward me. Until a hand on my desk had me looking up.And I was taken aback by the sheer beauty that stared back at me in the face. Tall, prime lady with a slightly made-up face, dark eyes staring at me, lips

CHAPTER 18

Harold's POV.The door pulled open and the familiar face of my cousin appeared, before she stepped in fully, a charming smile on her face.“Matilda,” I couldn't help pushing myself up my chair so I could get around to pull her into an embrace, my face mimicking her smile.“Harold,” She beamed as I closed the gap between us, and my hand went around her, pulling her in for an embrace. Her head fell on my shoulder and I gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze.“How was your trip?” I asked as I pulled out of the embrace, leading her with me to one of the available chairs so she could take her seat.“Splendid,” She beamed and I found myself nodding. I moved to a safe in my office and grabbed a bottle of wine with two glasses. I poured out the wine for her while she watched me.“So, tell me about it,” I demanded with a small smile as I handed her a glass of wine. I went around and took my seat.“Urgh, you don't want to know the details. Just have it at the back of your mind that your childhood f

CHAPTER 19

Harold's POV.“So, I walked up to her and told her my name. And you know what she did?” Jason, one of my associates asked, an amused expression taking over his boastful one.“What?” Vincent, another of my associates asked, arching one of his full brows at him.“She slipped her card into my breast pocket and asked me to give her a call. The next thing I saw was her walking away and shaking those firm buttocks of hers.” He boasted, a toothy grin accompanying his words.I shared a glance with Damien and we shook our heads, both of us silently agreeing that the dude was gone. Sex was going to be his death. That was very certain.Damien had suggested we met up with the clique since I had always used the excuse of work to cover up. So, here we were hanging out together at a Vincent bar and sipping champagne.“The lady needs some of this.” Jason pointed at his toned muscles, his hands going ahead to reveal the packs beneath his shirt. I groaned and shook my head at him.“So, did you call her

CHAPTER 20

Harold's POV.I watched the phone ring, my familiar ringtone blaring out until it stopped altogether. Then, I heaved a sigh of relief.I didn't know why she was calling me. It had been three days since we spoke last and even though I was trying to be more consistent, I just couldn't help it.And knowing Brittany, I knew she wouldn't give up.I met her when I was in elementary school. Her parents were good friends of mine and whenever they came over, she came along with them. We started as friends probably because I was always amused by her sharp mouth. Then we grew older and became close friends. We started to attend the same high school and she took up the protective role, always chasing away every other female friend I had. It was tiring how she didn't leave me be.Then one day, my parents called me and told me that I mustn't lose Brittany because she was suddenly my betrothed. I stood a chance of taking over her parent's properties especially as she is an only child. I wasn't too k
