SELFISH ALPHA

Freya made a noise that was something between a sigh and a groan. There were so many issues, so many unanswered questions. However, she supposed that when it came down to it, the question of most importance was: Was she truly prepared to do what it took to remove herself from what people saw her as? Why did she actually care about people's opinions of her? She could disappear or train herself to fight and defend herself whenever the need arises.Returning her gaze to Dante, she sighed again and then nodded. He gave her a crooked smile. "Right decision.""So when do we do this?""Very soon. I have a few things to finalize, so the matter can't wait. I take it you usually go to a club on weekends?"She nodded. "I will go to The Fairy's Way every Friday night as it's the nearest club to my house. It has proven to be peaceful and less crowded.""It's best not to do anything out of the norm for you. Friday night I want you to go to the club as usual. If you can, stay near the bar. At some p

UNINVITED GUEST

Freya couldn't help that her mouth fell open. She had thought that Ariel with the attitude she put up was all strong and over-spoiled. In truth, he felt none. He was perfectly content with the idea of handing her over to someone who would beat her, and he wouldn't even be angry with Dante for doing it.Well, at least she had someone looking out for her well-being, even if they were doing it in the wrong way. Freya didn't.Freya began banging on the door, her wolf getting excessively offended. She wanted to be free and scold such a heartless father for his actions. Yes, she wasn't friends with Ariel. EVERY REASON TO HATE

Listening to Alpha Duke engage Jake in a serious conversation in which they kept their voices so low that no one heard them, Freya was forced to roll her eyes when she noticed that all eyes were on Jake."What? Haven't seen a handsome man before?" She mumbled to herself. Many females were staring in utter admiration at Jake, clinging to his every word. Even the high and mighty Ariel, for Christ's sake! The males were also staring at him, all pretty pissed with him for his effect on the females. An ordinary human at that. She simply didn't understand how everyone could be so taken in by him. Yes, he was charming, had a warm smile and was very nice to look at, but therewas something very wrong with his recent eyes. There was so much ice there. No matter how wide his smile was, it never reached his eyes. From the second she had met that night, he had rubbed her and her wolf the wrong way, yet no one else seemed to have sensed that...wrongness about him. That wasn't the Jake she fell in

TEAMING WITH THE ENEMY

Jake took a step forward until he was a few inches from Freya's face. "Freya Parrish, I will live only to make your life entwined with mine."It took a few seconds for Freya to be able to speak. "You're sick."He jiggled his head. "Maybe I seem that way to you now, but just think, Freya. A year from now, you will want nothing more than to please me in every way I want to be pleased.""Never," she bit out. "Even if you give me the world, I would never do that.""I won't need to force you. You will crave my dominance and my direction. I'm looking forward to you moving into my home. Then we can pick up where we left off.""Sick, delusional and suicidal. That's what you are.""Suicidal?" He sounded amused."I'd kill you before I let you touch me again.""You really would try to, wouldn't you? Even if it meant risking your own life.""If I get married to this new you, I would be practically dead anyway," she spat. "Being some little slave for you wouldn't be a life. I would never put mysel

ANOTHER FIGHT

Knowing that she would never be able to come back here, regardless of what happened, Freya packed a large douchebag complete with clothes, a passport, and a few sentimental objects with the plan that she could stash it in her car ready for Friday night. Unlike the other wolves, she was still new to the speed, strength, and smell thing. And, more than her wolf, she was dependent on training her physical body. Her wolf was dormant in terms of physical contribution. She didn't have a lot of stuff, so it wasn't hard to sift through it and only take the things she really liked or wanted. She already knew that her life would once again be left behind. Her job, the things that she was barely getting to know. It was shattering that her attempt to fix herself once more was going to be a waste. One thing she had learned from being independent was the importance of saving money, so at least she had some to take with her. The problem was getting the douchebag to the car without setting off the p

A FINAL GOODBYE

Deciding that getting emotional would only make things more painful for her, she continued to numb the pain, acting like nothing ever happened. Knowing that she would never again see this side of Seattle or her job once she took the step, Freya would have spent the next few hours in a gloomy mood if it hadn't been for the fantastic text message she received. Jake was due to arrive the morning of tomorrow for another visit. That put her thoughts back in order like nothing else could have. Not only did it remind her why exactly she was doing this, but it helped her shove the guilt aside – guilt which had been heightened by how her body and her wolf reacted to Dante. It wasn't that she had never desired a guy before, but the desire had never been this intense before. If Freya had met him under different circumstances, she would have most likely ran far and fast from that desire. As much as she had always told herself that she would one day mate, whenever she had gotten involved with a g

A SPY

Alcohol was the only thing that kept Freya stable in times of overwhelming difficulties. Not that she was an addict, but, once it got too much, she went all out and the club was her favorite place to be. No men. No friends. Just she and her drinks. A bit boring to say, yet, Freya was okay with that. This pattern made her become fast+friends with the bartenders who sometimes passed her a free drink. On the part of clubs, most of them just like other establishments didn't believe in the superstition of Shifters being real. While others took extreme measures to make sure that if they were real, they wouldn't have access to their establishment. However, Freya broke such boundaries by freely walking in and out without raising suspicions. The mountain ash, silver and oak wood the club was built out of didn't harm Freya. It only made her uncomfortable most time.If another Shifter were to go to such a place carelessly, he or she would burn. They had to take extreme measures of either getting

PACKS CHAOS

Ana was rapidly blacking out. Zoe was still trying to get her to breathe properly until something else could be done.Audrey had a grin on her face. She worked in the marketing unit. Clearly, Audrey had been one of the females staring at Dante, pissing Oscar off.Freya returned shortly with Caleb. Freya ran a hand through her hair, hoping she didn't look as stressed out as she was feeling. "Of all the nights, why this one?" she muttered under her breath.Feeling a tap on her shoulder, Zoe swerved to find Oscar. "They said it was okay?"Oscar nodded. "The guy in charge of tonight is waiting by the door with the key. They like to keep it locked.""Come on then, people, let's get Ana moved."Katherine grabbed Ana's purse as Oscar and Zoe each draped one of Ana's arms over their shoulders and lifted her from the chair. She didn't react other than to let out a low whiny moan. With Audrey and two other guys on either side of her, Freya led the way to the office, making room through the crow

CLAIMING

Numerous times, Dante had strolled the length of the bar, searching for Freya. Where the hell was she? For a second, he wondered if she had backed out, but the thought had left his head as quickly as it came. Freya Parrish wasn't the type to wriggle out of a deal. She was as concrete as a rock once her mind was made up. He knew she had been in this exact spot not so long ago. Her scent still lingered and it was reasonably fresh. His wolf growled at the exotic smell, wanting to hunt her down. To hunt her down and take her, claiming her as his."Her scent disappeared not far from here," said Dante as he reappeared at his side. "Looks like she went into the private office, and she hasn't come back out yet.""What would she be doing in a private office?" If anything sexual was going on, Dante would kill him.Surprised by the intensity behind that thought, he double-blinked. The sight of his Beta and three enforcers grinning told him that they knew what he'd been thinking. They had all war

A BAD DECISION FOR A GOOD COURSE

"Dante," he said gruffly as he slid her down his body as if introducing himself. It was pretty common that two wolves could mark each other before exchanging names, swept away by the urge to claim. Most people around didn't understand what had just transpired. But, the enforcers and others tailing Freya and Dante, or even Ariel would understand the process. She smiled. "You made it happen."Dante almost rolled his eyes when Declan said, "congratulations, you two.""Oh. My. God," said Ariel, gazing at them wide-eyed.Let the show begin, grumbled Freya inwardly, turning to see that many of the Shifters had observed the claiming and were staring. Every face was a picture of shock. Even Katherine and Oscar, who didn't understand one bit of what was happening, looked as though they wanted to pass out.Ariel was still in shock-still and gaping."Hand Freya over," demanded Zoe. The unsteadiness of his voice suggested he was aware of who Dante was. "As Jake's enforcers, we are responsible for
