Silence.  More silence.  And then more and more and more… The world was still as if the whole cosmos was holding its breath. Her eyes remained riveted to the body before her, waiting with bated breath for something to happen. Thalia's boldness surprised Kade but certainly didn't put him off. He had intended to take it as slow as Thalia needed, wanting to give his mate all the time she needed and the power to say no. Yet here she was, offering herself to him only days after meeting each other.  Kade could have questioned it. He could have reassured himself that this was what Thalia really wanted but all he had to do was look into those dark eyes filled with so many emotions to know Thalia held no reservations or uncertainty. She wanted him as he wanted her. This wasn't just about fulfilling a physical need either. They were two damaged souls who could finally heal in the presence of each other.  Kade didn't know when he had hoisted Thalia up but her wrapping her curvy legs around his waist made him groan in satisfaction. He broke the hungry kiss to bury his face into Thalia's neck, drinking in her intoxicating scent. He couldn't get enough of her either.

“Are you sure you’ve never played this before?” “Positive.”  Kade’s eyes narrowed slightly displaying his lack of belief in Thalia’s statement. They had been playing crazy golf for the afternoon and despite claiming she had absolutely no knowledge of how to play golf let alone crazy golf, the pregnant she-wolf was doing extremely well. Not that Kade had brought her here for a competition but Thalia’s earlier complaints about how rubbish she was going to be suddenly seemed hugely unjustified. Luckily there were only a few other groups around even if they were human so any spirited comments about being a ‘sneaky she-wolf’ or ‘stubborn beta’ went unnoticed.  “Well,” Kade shifted on the bench as Thalia completed her last shot and wandered over to him. “I don’t even need to look at the score to know you beat me.”

The rest of the afternoon went by well especially with the hard part of the meeting over with. Thalia was welcome to join the Hellhound pack whenever she was ready although, she technically was a part of it given that Kade and she had mated successfully. Thalia wanted to wait until they headed back to the township before she finished the process of joining the pack. She had technically been packless for over five years now so what was another couple of weeks? It was agreed that when Daniel and Eva returned from their holiday in the south, Kade and Thalia would join them in the journey back to the pack but until then, Kade and Thalia were affording fourteen more days to themselves.
