Jack sat in Ellie's rolling chair. He swung it back and forth while he waited. The dry hum of the computers and other electronics droned on, encouraging him to nod off. He didn't know how Ellie could work in here day after day and get anything done. He had to fight to stay awake.Finally, Lexi pushed through the lab door from the locker room. "The whole building is going to collapse, come on!" He said, his voice muffled by his arm.The petite lady turned to him, a look of surprise on her face. She shook her head. "I can't, this is too important. I have to protect them." She bent back over her work and continued pulling the hard drives.Tom leaned down next to her and pulled a drive in each hand over repeatedly, throwing them on the magnet. She turned around and calmly walked to her computer screens. She pulled another drive and tossed it in an open duffle bag on the floor near the counter. They continued on in silence. The air cooled and the smoke cleared completely. They wound their way through a few caverns until the rock narrowed into a tunnel. Ahead small clicks echoed through the tunnel. Jack halted, pulling Lexi to a stop. They waited, listening to the etchings of claws against the bare stone. Jack directed his fireball ahead of them into a large cavern ahead.Dozens of black glittering eyes peered back at them from one large spider beast. Lexi sucked in a breath. The beast watched the fireball wiz towards it. As it came in range, it lashed its large hairy leg, knocking it askew. The fireball went whirling to the side. Jack regained control and swerved the fireball past the spider into the cavern. The spider turned and followed it. Jack sped it up and the spider lunged after it, its shadow engulfed the view.Jack pushed Lexi forward and flicked another fireball out in front of them to light the tunnel.
