Breathing Fire

AMBER’S POV I couldn’t bear the thought of placing everyone else in danger all because of me and the decisions that I had made. I had chosen to join the vampire coven and I had chosen to come here as a spy for them, I couldn’t risk the lives of the very people that I had intended to kill. I couldn’t even celebrate my father’s death because I was now so worried about the new threat that had been made against my life. I wanted to confront Natasha and ask her why she had chosen to betray the king that she had claimed to love so much but I decided to let her be because the perfect person to confront her about that was Chad. He was the king and she owed her loyalty to him and not me, she owed him an apology and not me. I also felt like I would be a hypocrite if I confronted her because at the end of the day I had come into the royal city as a spy for the vampire too.I didn’t know what to do with myself once more, Chad was back and he was safe but now something else was making me restless

Ready for my fate

AMBER’S POV After I got out of the royal City I went back to the location where I had found my bike wondering if it was still there and to my surprise it was. They really meant it when they said there was little to no crime in the royal city. Although I hadn’t left my bike in the royal city territory. I picked up my bike and another miracle happened, the bike was actually still working. I don’t know why I expected it to not be working but I had just left it out here for so long that I didn’t expect it to have any life in it. Seeing it come to life was a miracle and it reminded me of my love for fast vehicles. I couldn't explore that passion while I was at the palace because I was always indoors. My thoughts of the life that I had left back at the palace made me realize that I was already missing Chad and that place. It had become m home and although it had been a challenge for the wolves that lived there to accept me, I had already started settling in.I wondered how Chad was doing a

Demanding an apology

CHAD’S POVThere was no time to waste, we had to get Amber out of that place before they did anything to her. I had never been to the vampire territory and I had never dealt with a vampire before so I really didn’t know what the day held for me. I didn’t know what to expect from them but thank goodness I had Jeff who had some experience with the vampire coven. He knew what their weaknesses were and he knew how to kill them. I knew that doing this with no experience or training would be hard for me but there was no time for training. We just had to go in there and rescue Amber and then get out, I didn’t want us to waste any time because we didn’t know what their plans were and when they were planning to kill her“Did you manage to get all the warriors lined up?” I asked Jeff as we were in my office planning a way in“Yes I did,” he said“It’s kind of hard planning this without any idea of what the layout of that territory looks like” I complained and he sighed“I haven’t been there sin

Out For Blood

CAIN’S POV After Amber’s meeting with the elders, I went into the meeting hall with hopes of seeing her before they imprisoned her but I was met by my father who also seemed to want to talk to her before the guards took her away. Amber was close to tears and I couldn’t help wondering why she was so upset, what had my father said to her this time. “I thought you were gone,” I said as I walked in “What are you doing here?” he asked me “I want to speak to Amber before you take her away,” I said, “why are you still here?” I asked him and he looked away. I knew my father well enough to know that he was about to lie to me. “I was just about to leave,” he said and then he walked out leaving me with Amber “Do you see the damage that you have caused?” I asked her “my father took you in as his own child, we all trusted you” “Spare me that bullshit Cain… your father wanted me dead from the day he grew suspicious of me. Why else would he send me to the wolf territory if he wasn’t hoping th

Made for her

CHAD’S POVWhen we first arrived at the vampire coven I was not only excited by the action that was going on everywhere around me but also because I was about to see my mate. However, I was a little worried that we may have been a little late in getting to her. While I entered the coven searching for Amber, Jeff and the others remained outside where the real fight was happening. It took a while for me to finally locate my mate and when I found her she seemed a little disorientated and seemed to not think that I was even real.it was a little funny and cute at the same time but we had to hurry and get out so there was no time for me to dwell on the cuteness of my disorientated mate.I was angered by the conditions in which they had been keeping her because Amber was a queen and she didn’t deserve to be treated like some kind of a prisoner who had committed some kind of a big crime. The only crime she seemed to have committed in their eyes was to be born and to search for a place in whic

Awakened cravings

AMBER’S POVThis was the moment that I had been waiting for for a very long time, ever since I found out that the vampires wanted me dead I decided that I wanted to get even. I had gone to them because I thought that they would accept me if they knew that I rejected my wolf side and embraced the vampire in me but I was mistaken and wrong. How could I even expect them to accept me when they hadn’t even accepted my mother, she was punished for a decision that was made on her behalf, a decision that didn’t do much service to her. Of course, I felt like they were also to blame for what had happened to my mother, they kicked her out and told her to never come back. That was the reason that she never returned despite how difficult things turned out to be for her and I felt stupid for even thinking that they wouldn't treat me the same way.Now here I was face to face with Marcus and I was now overcome with the same grief that I had experienced the day that awful wolf I called m father snatch

Craving for blood

AMBERS POV I tried to shake off the taste of Marcus’s blood from my taste buds and forget it but that seemed close to impossible, I felt like I wanted more of that addictive taste but I also didn’t want to go and hunt for it. Even if I was willing to hunt for it, what kind of a creature would I hunt for without raising suspicions or concerns with Chad. I couldn’t deny that his blood tasted good to me but the last thing I wanted was to find myself killing humans, vampires, and wolves for survival. One of the things that my mother told me when she was still alive was that I was to stay away from human blood or any kind of blood. She always told me that that would awaken a hunger and thirst in me that would be very uncontrollable. That was the reason that she made sure that I stuck to a certain diet and I never ate any meat that was not well cooked. Even after I was old enough to manage my own diet and decide for myself what I wanted to eat I had always stuck to the advice that my mothe

Not a Lone wolf

CHAD’S POV Amber didn’t look very good and although she said that she was just tired and hungry, I was worried that it might have been something a little more than that. She didn’t look hungry but rather looked like she was coming down with some kind of sickness. I wondered if they had given her something or some kind of drug before I arrived but she said they did no such thing. She said that they didn’t give her anything to eat nor drink and this worried me even further. What made things worse right now was the fact that she was now obsessing and worrying about the well-being of these vampires that were left behind. I felt like this wasn't her problem and she was worrying herself about something that somebody else had to handle. These vampires were not her problem and I just needed her to understand that. We were now going around and collecting the dead bodies that were lying around, both vampires and werewolves. Jeff had already started a huge fire and we were throwing them in the

Fear of mutation

AMBER’S POV When we arrived home I just wanted to rest and do absolutely nothing. I realized after I took my shower that I was actually very exhausted and I needed to get some rest. I felt extremely lucky that Chad seemed to understand that because he didn’t even try to do anything with me after we got home. While I was bathing Chad made sure to organize food for me because I had told him that I was very hungry. However, I could barely take a bite of the food that he had given me. it just tasted bland, as matter of fact it was completely tasteless and I felt like I was eating sand. ”Why aren't you eating?” he asked me “I don’t why, but this food tastes funny,” I said putting away the food and taking a sip of the water ”But it's your favorite and I made sure that the chef made it exactly the way you love it” “yes but I think it was cooked differently,” I said “Okay” he sighed “what would you like to have them?” he asked me “I don’t know, I think I will just go to bed now,” I sai

Who to help?

CHAD’S POVIt took a lot for Amber to finally fall asleep and I knew that she was very worried about the fact that she had ingested Marcus’ blood. I had never met the bastard but from what Amber told me it seemed that the guy was a piece of work and difficult to deal with. At first, I hadn’t really made a big deal of what she had told me because I just didn’t think that it was possible for her to suddenly develop cravings for blood simply because she had a taste of Marcus’s blood but the more I thought about it the more I saw that as a possibility. It was my job to protect Amber as my mate but I wouldnt even know how to protect her if she turned into a vampire and started tearing the royal city apart. I had to find a way to put a stop to that before it even happened. It was better to have a plan in place rather than just sitting and waiting for things to fall apart. When I woke up the following morning I left Amber sleeping because I imagined that she was exhausted from all the activi
