Chapter Fifty

Lilith's POVDinner is on the grand dining room table that we have yet to use since I arrived here. It's all oak wood, high-backed chairs and big enough to seat at least twenty people, but we all congregate to one end to sit together. As Khai had stated, Tabby is here with Leo and a few other friends she made within her new pack. Fortunately, she found a way out of Damien's clutches when she found her mate, Leo. And due to him being high up, an Alpha at that, Damien reluctantly let her go on that fateful day he decided to hold a mating run.She has powers, much like any witch has, but hers are specific. She sees the future. Once upon a time, she had no control over her visions, but now, from my understanding, she can literally search for the future of anyone she decides. Leo promised her the world that night as he bent down on his knees at her feet, and I witnessed it all. I admit that I was jealous. She found her out and her mate in one fell swoop, yet I was stuck being Damian's

Chapter Fifty One

Khai's POV I hide out during the days in the woods, keeping myself away from Leo and Tabitha specifically. Things are raw, and I don't particularly need help from Tabitha. I know the future and what's about to come, and I've come to terms with the fact that Theo and I will now have to make the ultimate sacrifice... Lilith's freedom. The thing is, is that it is not particularly our choice. Lilith has to choose her own path, and I know that one of many futures includes her trading her freedom for mine and Theo's. That line of possibility will end in months of heartbreak for Theo because he doesn't know the whole truth, but if I were to tell him what I know. That Damian will not only be taking Lilith but our child... Yeah, he'd never let it happen. But that's the future we want to hope for because on the other end of the spectrum, though Theo and I would be fine, the rest of our race wouldn't be. We are tied together by blood and bond now. I can feel Lilith growing. Her abi

Chapter Fifty Two

Theo's POV A week passes as Leo, and his friends help Lilith hone in some skills of gifts she didn't know she had and expand her use of the skills she already had knowledge about. Well, since her memories came back, that is. Her ability to manipulate fire, earth, water and air.I watch, mesmerised at her ability to manipulate all four at once. The yard became a dusty whirlwind of singed wood, water droplets and earth moving everywhere. She was throwing fire at one of Leo's acquaintances at one point. He was swallowing the flames with the earth and dispersing the cloud of smoke into the sky above us as if he were doing something ordinary.I guess I have never really thought about the broader societies and the gifts they may hold. I was naive in a gilded way because I knew that witches held gifts and even we werewolves. I presume vampires must as well, yet I had ignored the fact that they were this powerful. Having witches here with me, on my land for the first time, has shown me th

Chapter Fifty Three

Lilith's POV After a long week of training, today is a rest day because we have a friendly dinner with Leo and Tabby before they and their pack members go home. They've taught me so much, and I've even been able to amplify those weird incites I was having. I do have the ability to feel those around me. It's more substantial with the people I love and those who feel close to me, yet I have been able to branch out my gift to handle all those who reside within our land. I'll admit, feeling everyone's emotions can be overwhelming, and I sure won't be practising this particular gift that often. Not when I can feel everything from happiness to sadness to arousal... It's as if I take on other people's feelings. Holding them as my own, channelling them through myself to project them. Leo thinks that I could, a project, that is. With growth and practice, he thinks I'll be able to manipulate people to follow my example. The thought is... perplexing. Why would I force people to

Chapter Fifty Four

Lilith's POVThe room is dark and cold and smells of mildew. And despite my best efforts, Damian's hold on me remains firm and unbreakable."Leave us..." he states as the darkness takes one of my senses. This was my worst nightmare, the dark. The inability to see my surroundings and the fear attached to that... I find that my heart is already racing, and Abyss has recessed into the darkest depths of my mind. She is silent and loans no strength to help me to breathe. The panic rises in my body as the silence stretches out, and I'm sure it's a tactic. A way to make me fear the unknown future that I will be living in soon."Your emotions have always been so... potent," Damian breaks the silence as he pushes me. I free-fall, expecting to hit against something hard. Maybe my head or ribs, perhaps even my hip, but I bounce on a squeaky mattress that must be on top of the bed I used to sleep in."Light the room up, girl. I don't like the dark much..." Is he talking to me? Or is there so

Chapter Fifty Five

Eighteen years ago... Damian's POV "Are you sure, boss? That's the baby?" "Yes, yes, that little girl holds more powers than anyone in our world to date." "How will you get her off of her parents?" "Her caregivers... those people aren't her parents," I tell Isaac. We are hidden well within the trees, watching my Lilith being pushed along in her stroller as her caregivers take her shopping. She, this tiny infant child, is the key to my success. Onyx led me here to her. Gave me an image of our future... This little girl will grow to wield such powers that she will be feared. She could wipe out whole packs with just a sheer click of those tiny little fingers. Unfortunately, she isn't my fated... not in this lifetime, but I've gotten rid of that problem. Or shall I say Onyx did? He killed her, hating the fact she cropped up out of nowhere... Celeste's insult. The girl was a mere wolf with no powers to support us with. She thinks she will have the last laugh, but I have

Chapter Fifty Six

Lilith's POV Day Two The room is... dark, my heart thumping to its own rhythm as my mind races with every creak and every drip, wondering to the worse possible conclusion. Despite using my own fire orbs to light the place, no natural light filters in. I am below ground, the earthy wet smell confirming as much. Unlike before, I'm all alone. No one is out there for me to mind-link with. No one is there to keep me company. I try not to panic, and I try to concentrate on the room in front of me. The trickling water falls down the walls from seemingly nowhere. The damp smell and wet air that I'm breathing in. The mould spores growing fuzzy on the walls living fruititiously off of the damp. There are gouged marks on the wall beside my face, marks a younger version of myself made when I was being punished in much the same way as I am now. But back then, I didn't know life could be different. Back then, this was all I knew. The darkness before the light, before Damian's happiness

Chapter Fifty Seven

Khai's POV A whole day is what it takes Lucas to surface from wherever Damian had left him. Theo's furious, and I can understand why. We've been down here, and he's seemingly been god knows where doing god knows what whilst we starved and parched but as soon as the bunker door opens, I can smell the wolfsbane and Tiger-Lilly embedded within Lucas's blood. He reeks, and I won't deny that I gag, mostly because I remember being injected with the same shit. The memory of how it knocks you for six, taking your senses one by one before you fall unconscious for days or maybe even a week. It's a lethal potion for a wolf to carry, but Damian's never had a problem sourcing such things, mainly because he has witches versed in potions galore. They make them at his whim, and he uses them as if the supply is never-ending. "They drugged him..." I note, standing up from the bed I had chosen to use as my resting place. I walk purposely through the bunker, walking around the bucket we had u

Chapter Fifty Eight

Sixteen Years Ago Damian's POV My girl is two today, two years old and the cutest thing you would ever have imagined. Her little face is chubby at the cheeks, her lips are perfect, and her blonde hair falls in loose curls to her shoulders. She's the most perfect child one could wish for. When you look into her eyes, you wouldn't imagine she was merely a toddler. She's wise beyond her years, and her ability to communicate is beyond anything I could have imagined, but there lies the problem. I was going to allow her gifts to manifest after having a change of heart, of witnessing her save herself in that god-forsaken accident, but she is maturing too fast. Her ability to protect herself is a hindrance when I want to punish her, and her ability to have a tantrum and set alight the whole house has caused me to build three more. And now she can mind-link despite the fact she cannot talk fluently... I have to put a stop to her gifts. I must delay the inevitable, and that's wh

Chapter Fifty Nine

Theo's POVThe mate bond is made to guide you through life. Celeste binds two wolf souls with two mating human counterparts, so you never have to find someone to love. They are already out there waiting for the time that fate crosses your paths. I never thought I would have a mate. I thought for sure that I didn't have a fated because I was a hybrid human, wolf and witch. It would have made sense and been okay, but then Celeste had Lilith land on my packlands.Celeste, had me fall in love and mark and mate only for her to make me feel this way? It's the middle of the night, and despite being as tired as a wolf, I'm sitting in the tree on the no-mans land with Khai as we are watching from above. Damian's people are milling around in the distance, unaware they are even being watched. The night was going just as plainly as any other since she was taken. That was until my mark started to burn, like incessantly burn to the point of screaming fire licking through my veins. I tried to
