Chapter 1: The Prophecy of the Moon

The colony was under attack and everyone were caught up by surprise by an enemy pack, and even though they were always alert, this time they didn't have time to be prepared.It was one of those dark pitch nights, where you can barely see anything without the help of the moonlight.  In the middle of the East Forest, there was a battle happening between two wolf packs. "Grandma, I'm leaving!" Selena shouted, already passing through the door, not waiting for her grandmother's response.She walked to college feeling the warm breeze from that morning. That lifted her spirit a little. Selena was always so curious about the different lifestyle of the humans and wanted to understand their world so badly, that she had enrolled in a college nearby. She always discovered something new in their world, and that captivated her very much.At the college stairs, she heard someone screaming her name. She turned and saw Maddie coming in her direction. Maddie was a very beautiful girl, red-haired with honey-colored eyes. She was one of the most beautiful women Selena had ever seen. Everyone used to say that Selena was incredibly beautiful too, just like her mother. She had her mother's long black hair, her tanned skin and grayish eyes. When Selena and Maddie arrived at the Treehouse Bar, it was not hard to find where the group was. It was a very nice and casual bar that was attended by college students at the city. It was in the open-air and most of the people stood on their feet, drinking and chatting. Selena started to feel very nervous. She didn't know anyone that were with Robbie. "How many are we talking about?" Selena asked, running after Darius and the twins."I'm not quite sure. I believe there are five of ours there, but I don't know how many of them." "Got it!" They ran for a few minutes inside the forest until they were able to see the packs battling. Selena could instantly recognize the five wolves from her pack, but they were outnumbered. For what she could count from that distance, there were at least eight wolves from the rival pack. She looked at Darius, but he was already on the way to the fight, already turned into his wolf shape. The twins did the same, and Selena followed them, suddenly feeling more powerful. She always felt great as a wolf. Her fur was dark black like her hair and her eyes yellow like the sun. She felt her senses getting more sharp. Selena opened her eyes with some difficulty, feeling her whole body ache. At first, she could only look at the ceiling, feeling some sort of familiarity with the place. It seemed to be her grandmother's living room. She also realized that the smell of medicines that made her wake up came from her grandmother, that was beside her. "Ah, you're finally awake!" her Grandma said, smiling at her. "I thought you wouldn't wake up anymore.""What is this smell?" Selena frowned. "I'm cleaning your wounds. It's not pretty." Grandma answered.Selena tried to sit on the bed, but her grandmother slapped her arm and commanded her to stay laid down.Not that she would be able to, since with just that little movement, she felt so much pain that almost fainted."Ah!" Lord Shane!" a dark-haired guy came shouting at a tall and serious man that was contemplating the moon through the window, with the hands on his pockets.They were inside of an old and abandoned warehouse outside of the city, where their pack lived.Lord Shane was their leader and they were a band of rogue wolves that thought they were better and stronger than most of the other wolves. They didn't care about any rules and always did what they wanted.Shane was a young man with blonde hair, green eyes and a face full of scars. Selena woke up feeling much better, with no more bruises or broken bones. She took a very cold shower to scare away the laziness from her sore body.  While washing her hair and lathering all the ointment off of her skin, Selena took deep breaths to forget about the nightmare she was living at home. She was still very upset about the whole conversation she had with her father on the previous night.  She also remembered the night at the bar. And Lucas. For a moment, she thought that it had all been a bad dream. With the battle, she was able to take him off of her mind for a while. But now she would have to face him at college. Although she thought that maybe it would be easy to avoid him, since she had never seen him there before. However, there was also Robbie.She left without talking to him. Would he be upset with her? Selena didn't have much time to think. She suddenly saw herself facing four wolves at the end of the street. She could instantly recognize the wolf that had attacked her on the forest the other day.
