Two Days Later:Raul was pacing his office, biting his fingernails intermittently—a coping mechanism he couldn’t do without since the disappearance of Olivera—as he contemplated on the reason why Jeremy had blocked his mind path. Raul inhaled deeply as he walked from one end of the room to the other, his eyes intermittently going to the huge wall clock right opposite the head chair of the long table. He was looking his normal self now, well groomed, and smelling nice. He folded his arms across his chest when the clock struck thirty minutes after he came into the office. Two Months Later. Raul watched the sky from the mini porch, outside his room, counting clouds. He forgot the number he had counted after a while, then started all over—anything to keep his mind from the absence of his mate.
