Prologue

MILO: Today was the day that I had been preparing for my entire life. Today I would become Alpha, and my best friend Godrick would stand by my side as I announced him as my Beta. Today would mark our new beginning. After my ceremony, we would finally be able to get started on the plans we had been developing since elementary school. We would raise the status of the Blue Moon Pack. We would become one of the strongest, if not the strongest, pack in the Western Hemisphere. We would be feared as well as awed by everyone who surrounded us. I glance towards my bed, eyeing the tuxedo that one of the omegas had left for me. I don't understand why my mother insisted on my Alpha ceremony being formal, I couldn't stand getting dressed up, but the pack Luna gets what the pack Luna wants.I let out a heavy sigh as I try to calm my nerves and gain the energy to put on my tuxedo. "What did that tuxedo ever do to you?" My best friend Godrick Macafee asks, a s

Chapter 1: Aurora

"Rise and Shine, Sweetheart." My dad calls up the stairs.I open my eyes with a massive grin on my face. Today was the day. Today was the day that I was meeting with Alpha Ramano, the day that I would finally get the chance to ask for his permission to leave the Blue Moon Pack. Today was the very first day of my new beginning. I quickly get out of bed, grab my towel, and head toward the bathroom to shower. I'm only in the shower for about fifteen minutes before I hop out and run back to my room. I've already picked out my outfit for the day. I shimmy into my favorite black leather leggings and throw on my blood-red crop top, the sleeves sitting perfectly off my shoulder. I pair my outfit with my signature black choker and red combat boots. I hastily brush my blond hair back into a high ponytail pulling a strand down on each side to frame my face. I grab my favorite lipstick and coat my lips with it, the red stain making my bow shape lips stand out, the red enhancing th

CHAPTER 2: GRAYSON

My father continued to drone on about how important it was for me to pick a chosen mate at tonight's banquet. I wanted to shout at him and tell him that he wasn't the Alpha anymore, but I knew the rumors spreading around the pack were getting to him. Rumors that the moon goddess had cursed our family -- First, my father lost his mate to another, and now his son is seemingly mateless. While it was rare for a wolf to still be mateless by the time they turned twenty-five, it was unheard of for an Alpha wolf to be mateless. Alpha Wolves had the most exposure to other packs; we were more likely than any other wolf to meet their mate. "If I choose a Luna, how will that help squash the rumors that our family isn't cursed?" I ask my father, turning my attention from the window back toward him. "It won't stop the rumors, but it will show the pack that you take your Alpha duties seriously. It will show them that you're a strong leader and are willing to do what it takes fo

Chapter 3: Aurora

Great. So not only is this shindig required for me to attend, but it has now been changed into a ball. Could the goddess punish me any more than she already has? At least it's a masquerade ball. Hopefully, that'll give me some form of secrecy, at least until I've had my meeting with the Alpha. Then I can finally be on my way to start my new life. "So the Alpha invited you personally to attend the ball?" My father asked with concern in his eyes. "Not exactly," I shrug. I don't see why my parents are making such a big deal. I've never met Alpha Grayson, and with a mask on my face to conceal my identity most of the night, I doubt he had something nefarious planned. "Ah, here it is!" My mother cried, taking the steps two at a time as she came rushing out of the attack, holding something long that was stowed safely away, covered in plastic. My mom's face was flush from how much time she'd spent in the attic. Our house didn't have the best

chapter 4: Grayson

It felt like I had been watching the dance floor for hours, but glancing down at my watch, it had only been minutes. I kept gazing down, trying to spot Aurora Macafee, but all the she-wolves blended together. I couldn't deny the disappointment I felt when I didn't see her in the crowd. She must not have taken me seriously and decided to avoid the ball altogether. Or she just didn't care what I said, even though the Alpha's word was law. I think that's what caused me to feel the most intrigued about her, though; her rebellious side was intoxicating. Tyson seemed to be enjoying himself down below. He loved the attention from the ladies, and he seemed to be getting a lot of it tonight. Every primped-up female trying to become the next Luna was practically shoving their breasts in his face, and he didn't shy away from them. Great, he was going to make me look like an ogler. I guess that's what I get for making my best friend and beta pretend to be me. As I was gettin
