Jessie's P.O.V.The red, white, and blue lights flashed upon the white house that I used to call home. I looked out the window as the car pulled up. Damn cops. They got out and opened the door for me. I hesitated but got out slowly. In a minute, I would have to face my parents. I can't believe Alex would rat me out just because we got in an argument. The old cop pushed me up to the door and rang the doorbell. After a minute, my father answered it."Son?" He asked calmly. There was not one trace that he was worried, or that he cared that I wasn't alone in my return back to his house. I nodded."Sir, can we please see some I.D. so we can release this minor in your care?" The cop said impatiently. Talk about rude."Yes, come in, please. It will only take a second for me to get it." My dad walked back in slowly and into the living room to grab the stuff. The cop stood off to the side of the couch, and I collapsed onto it."Honey, you're h

"Let's go." We walked out of the gym, and I saw my group looking at us. I put my hand on his chest to stop him from walking further. He looked down at me. Damn! I feel short!"Might want to steer clear of Mark for a while, though," I warned, and Brandon looked up to see Mark and Liam standing to the side with their arms crossed. Mark did not look happy, but he didn't approach me, knowing I was still angry with him."Yeah, I think that'll be for the best." He agreed before moving back over to the group. I watched for a moment while he said something to Tyler and shook his hand. "What was that about? How does that work, you kick his ass and now he's all smile and happy?" Chey said, and I just shrugged."We came to an understanding," I said. She raised her eyebrows in response. "Not like that, Chey. I can tell you and Deidra when we get back to the room. Now, who is up for pizza and ice cream, my treat?" I smiled, and they all nodded and started talking to each oth

The next morning, I heard a lot of people talking about the fight. When I walked into the cafeteria for breakfast with Deidra and Chey, I was getting some wide-eyed looks of uncertainty. However, a few seemed to like what they heard, and I had to stop myself from shying away when they winked or looked me up and down.In line, I reached out for a cinnamon roll, but another hand grabbed it first. I looked up to see Brandon on the other side of the line.I pulled my hand back and grabbed a different one with a smile. Chey grabbed one too, and Deidra ended up getting a bagel. We all paid and sat down. I saw Brandon again, so I waved with a smile. His lip was slightly busted, and he had a small bruise on the left side of his face.He smiled and walked over to us. I noticed a lot of people who more than likely didn't know what went down last night were tense as if waiting for a fight."Hey, Brandon," I said as I shoved a big piece of my cinnamon roll into my mo

"Ah, you must be Jessie. I am Mrs. Estrada." Jessie nodded his head with a quick greeting of 'hello' and sent a smile to me, which I happily sent back. He walked by the teacher and down the aisle to the only other open seat."Oh, my God! Is that Julie Sanders? As in, the Julie Sanders?" We both laughed, and I hit him as he walked past me. He bent down and whispered in my ear. It brought back memories of us having class together at our old school, but it still felt wrong. I enjoyed the playful moment, but I didn't want to encourage him."I knew you missed touching me, but that wasn't very nice." His breath ran across my skin, and I bit the inside of my lip, hoping no one saw our interaction and would tell Mark. Not that anyone was brave enough to approach Mark besides me. Even Chey was still scared of him."Oh, go sit down." We smiled at each other before he took a seat in the only open chair. I slumped down in my seat. The familiarity had my stomach doi

"All right, Ladies! We are going to be playing soccer. The two team captains will be…you black hair," The evil Physical Education coach of our seventh hour yelled at me, "and you Blondie!" He pointed to a familiar face.Oh. My. God. That's the jerk from the first day who hit on me when I was dragging my bags to my dorm.Okay, so get this, I used to play soccer. Not in school, but outside of school. I never really got to know my teammates because it was a waste of time. Anyway, after being the only chick that wasn't afraid to body-check someone to the ground, I learned how to do it without getting carded. I was the sweet innocent little girl who was able to take down a football team.I smiled evilly. This was going to be fun."Claim your teams. I will be right back with jerseys. Sanders, you get first pick. Ladies first, and all that B.S." With that, he stalked off to the equipment room."Um…Tall, black hair, in the back." The kid look

Mark's P.O.V."I'm going to show you how it feels!" He lunged at her and knocked her to the ground. Even I was too shocked to move. But a white-hot rage burned through me, and I began to walk forward."You fucking fat bastard! Get off of me!" She yelled at him. His hand pulled back and released, hitting her cheek and making her head snap back. She flipped over, so she was on him and punched him in the face."If you ever fucking hit me again, I'll make you regret it! When I get done with you, you'll wish you were dead, just like the rest of them!" She screamed before punching him again and jumping off."Fuck!" I said rather loudly. As she stormed off, the guy got to his feet, only for me to slam him down to the ground again as I rushed by. My girl needed me, and I wasn't going to let her suffer alone. Chey and Deidra wore confused expressions, but I didn't stop to talk to them. I really didn't care to talk to them at all. The only r

Jessie's P.O.V.They kissed. They just kissed! My heart shattered into ten million pieces. Corny, I know, but true. Call me overdramatic, but watching the woman I loved kissing another man destroyed me.They pulled away quickly when some of the guys who invited me to come here jumped in the pool. They both looked around with innocent expressions, but everyone knew what they had just been up to."It's, it's getting a little crowded. I um, I think I'm going to go." I heard Julie say to Mark. I took a couple steps into the bushes. She slid out of the pool, and the water cascaded down her body almost in slow motion. I noticed most of the other guys in the pool stopped to watch her.She just walked away without a towel. I took a step out of the bushes to give her mine and walk her back but quickly stepped back when I heard his voice."Julie, wait up!" Mark yelled just as I was about to go after her. She turned with a small smile."Yeah?" H

"So, what do you want to be?" She tripped and started to fall back, but I caught her."Well, I like the thought of being your savior, but that's just me." She stood upright and hit my arm playfully."Thanks." She put her arm back around me, and we started walking into the lounge."Well, as your savior now, do I at least get my reward?" I looked down as she looked up at me."And what would you like, my hero?" Her words sent a warmth through my chest. I knew she was joking around with me, but there were so many things that I would love to claim as a reward from her, but I would start slow. If I wanted this to work between us, I would need to move at her pace physically, just as she was respecting my pace emotionally. That didn't mean that I wouldn't happily take anything that she would offer.I put my pointer finger up to my lips. "I want a kiss." She giggled but leaned forward. I closed my eyes to kiss her, but she turned my head, kissed my cheek, a

Jessie rounded the corner and froze when he saw me. I felt instant regret for forgetting to grab my towel back from Mark and even more for not bothering to wear a cover-up when I went to the pool. I had just been so excited to spend time with him that I wasn't thinking straight."Hey," I said with a shy wave, knowing the embarrassment of being caught locked out of my room in my bathing suit was evident in the blush that covered my face and neck."Um, hey." He said and walked forward, his eyes straying to look at anything but me."How was your first day?" I asked as I crossed my arms over my chest with one hand wrapped around my torso and the other crossed to grip my shoulder and shield my boobs."It was pretty shitty, but I'm sure things will get better the longer I am here." He let out that deep chuckle that use to fill me with butterflies and make my throat dry, but now it did nothing for me. It was just another friend or person laughing. "What was with

I rolled over, but unlike the bed that I had at my parent's old house, this one was a twin, so I rolled right off it. I landed with a thud and a groan before closing my eyes again, ignoring the laughter that came from Deidre's bed.I predict that today will not be a good day. Chey spent an hour comforting me after she found me sitting in the hallway outside our door. I wanted to go to Mark's room, but I didn't know which one was his, and it wouldn't be fair for me to go to him crying over another man, even if I was just upset about hurting him.I stood up and crawled back into bed with a long continuous line of shivers. How the hell is it this cold inside of a dorm? I pulled my blanket up over my head and curled my body into a ball. My eyes slammed shut on their own, and I let out a sigh as my alarm clock immediately went off the second I began to fall back into that sweet, sweet slumber my body had been craving."Good morning, sunshines!"
