Damien:I kept my arm wrapped around Natalia for a while, just holding her to my chest as she opened up to me, unblocking the barrier that she set between us as mates.It broke me seeing how her mom treated her, and had it not been for Ace being there; I already knew that things might have been worse. It also annoyed me that mom and dad knew of this, and yet neither one of them bothered to come and tell me about it. Natalia has been quiet for weeks, weakening and getting sick, and now I understood why. Despite the pain of her and I fighting, she was shamed by those who should have been by her side. She felt like she was completely alone, and with the one person, me, who made her feel secure, loved, and appreciated being away from her; she felt disoriented.I ran my finger over her arm.
