“He’s over here,” Mariah whispered softly, pulling me to the enormous bed. It was the size of three king-sized beds. Animal furs donned the mattress, large pillows and torch for lighting lit the room. The light was just enough to see the outline of a sleeping Ares. His breaths were low, steady but the hint of twitching in his sleep. I knew it was disturbed. His head twisted to the other side of the pillow, now unable to read his expression.Mariah hovered over me, watching as my hand went over Ares’ that laid on his chest. The brightness glowed brighter than anyone else that I had touched. The scorching of my hand had me wince, but I dared not lift my hand.Worry, pain, suffering, regret, it all swirled together inside my mind as I forced myself to push further into him.
