Chapter 60: The Face of A Gypsy Wolf

Kayleigh “That wasn’t a rhetorical question, Bash. I’m waiting for your answer.” I prod Bash for a response. “Kayleigh. Just drop it. It’s none of our business.” Once again, Gio gives me a warning look while he turns to a narrow street. “I don’t think it’s wrong to want to know, right Bash?” I ignore Gio and continue to urge Bash for an answer. It just doesn’t make sense. Bash can appeal for a regency and even vie for the Alpha King position without taking over Cillian’s Pack. With his pack’s wealth and strength, Bash has a strong claim for the throne, anyway. “I’d answer that question but then ---“ Bash gives me a menacing smile through the rearview mirror. “Bash. Don’t finish that sentence. You’re my uncle. But any threats or disrespect to the Alpha King’s daughter, I will not condone.” Gio presses on the gas harder. He looks agitated. “See. I don’t get this, nephew. You, Cillian, Andrei… you guys just worship the ground that she walks on. You treat her like a brea

Chapter 61: A Throuple Relationship

Kayleigh It’s been an hour since the attack. It didn’t take long for us to beat up all twelve red wolves. Bash forced one of them to shift back into his human form and then carved his name on the guy’s back. Like a marque. The bloody brand was a message to his pack that Bash and Gio, both Blutschilds from different continents, will be coming after the red wolves. Thanks the Moon Goddess I’m in the company of skilled fighters. I mean, I know I wasn’t bad at all. I carried my weight during the fight. But the red wolves who attacked us were strong and seasoned fighters as well. I’m in awe of Gio and Gisella’s combat expertise. They are a force to be reckoned. Misha and Nikolai truly let their beasts take over. Bash did not shift into his wolf form. Gisella mentioned that Bash’s wolf is deranged and hard to control. But it doesn’t matter, with what I saw, Bash didn’t need a wolf to show that he is an alpha to be scared of. I saw him tear apart a red wolf’s jaw with just his bare hands

Chapter 62: The Wolf Blood Council

Cillian The wolf blood council, also called, The Guardians, is here. It’s been a long time coming and we’ve been busting our balls preparing for it. Now that they finally made it, I can’t wait for them to leave. I flinch when I feel the fingers entwined with mine squeeze. It’s not the hand I want to hold, but it’s because of my sworn pack duty, I have no choice. “Can you chill a little? You’re acting so uptight and unnatural. They’re going to catch a whiff of this charade if you keep it up.” Pulling me closer to her, Kinsley whispers under her breath as we wait for the wolf blood council’s cars to arrive in our property. “Jesus Christ, Kensington. I’m doing my best. This is just getting old. I don’t understand why we have to do this all the time. I’m so sick of it.” In reality, I’m feeling guilty holding someone else’s hand other than Kayleigh. “We’ve been doing this for years, Cillian. You’ve never had issues about it. Kayleigh isn’t even here so I don’t know what your probl

Chapter 63: I Want to Make You Mine

Andrei “Andrei. Can you fucking chill? Sit your ass down and drink this.” Bash hands me a crystal glass filled with whiskey. “Let me just go see if she’s okay. They’ve been in there for an hour now. I’m worried the attack got her shaken.” I take a few steps towards the room that Kayleigh and Gisella occupy even though I just came back from there just a minute ago. “If you’re not drinking that, give it to me. Kayleigh is doing fine. She’d seen blood before. Don’t make it sound like she’s a rookie fighter. You saw how she fought back there. Stop hovering on her.” Gio chugs the whisky like it’s plain water then plops down on one of the comfortable seats across to Bash. “Plus, it’s making you look too clingy. Play it cool, man.” Bash adds, mockingly. His eyes flicker with his menacing smile. “Fuck. Fine, mom and dad!” I grab my still damp hair and brush it backwards. It’s infuriating how these two alphas meddle too much. Bash didn’t even need to be here. I’ve borrowed his jet p

Chapter 64: Who’s the Dad?

Cillian “What the fuck was Miss Bethany talking about, Kensington?” I grit my teeth as I question Kinsley. As soon as we entered the manor, I mind-linked her to follow me to my room, where nobody can hear our conversation. “I don’t know. Why are you stressing about it? Can you just… not…” She crosses her arms in front of her chest and rolls her eyes. “I’m going to ask you this, just once. Actually, no. I’m going to keep asking you about this until you tell me the truth. Are you pregnant?” My jaw ticks waiting for her response. “So what if I am?” She tilts her head and glares at me. “Is that your way of admitting it? Does your dad know?” “That’s like asking if I wanted my dad to murder me right now.” She walks to the window trying to avoid my burning stare. “Why can’t I scent that you’re pregnant?” I would have known, I would have smelled her pregnancy hormones, unless the baby is too young. “It’s too soon to scent. The baby is less than 10 weeks. I was actually surprise

Chapter 65: Hybrid Wolves

Kayleigh After flying for several hours, we finally reach our destination. Per Gio’s instruction to the pilot, we landed on a private property, somewhere in the small town of Petersburg, Alaska. From my research about this place, it’s located south of Alaska’s capital, Juneau. The map showed that it’s surrounded by bodies of water. Tourist pictures depicted small rural living. The sight in front of me paints a quaint and simple life. With the trees shedding their fall leaves, the damp somewhat-green grass, and the mountain ranges around us, this place looks like a painting. The sight is refreshing to the eyes and uplifting to the soul. The freezing cold air welcomes us when the jet’s door slides open. Even beyond the foggy surrounding, I can see the beautiful nature we are surrounded with. Two four-seater golf carts are parked nearby, each having a driver standing by. I feel so unwell. No amount of ginger ale or tea can take away the nausea that I’ve been feeling since boa

Chapter 66: Of Fated Mates and Chosen Mates

Kayleigh “Is there anything else you want to eat, sweetie? Oh, how I’ve missed you. I haven’t seen you in years.” Looking at aunt Bree is like looking at my reflection, a slightly older me version. Not very much older, though. She’s probably 24 or 25. A lot younger than my parents who are in their late 30’s. Her red hair, blue eyes, alabaster skin, and even her nose and her pouty lips, all signature features of our Donnelly heritage. “Almost three years. This is enough, aunt Breanna. You prepared a lot of food. Thank you so much for having us and allowing all my friends in your beautiful home. I’m sorry for the hassle.” We’ve been feasting on ham, roast, potatoes, and pies for the last hour. Gio, Andrei, and I remain in the dining area with my aunt and John. The rest of our friends are enjoying the chilly air on the back patio. All while sipping John’s home brewed craft beer. “Oh, no worries. I’ve actually been expecting you for weeks now. It was about a month ago when Gio’s mess

Chapter 67: Breaking the Bond

Kayleigh “The fated mate bond can be unhealthy for some. As you know now, I’m very sensitive. I get anxious easily. I get bothered by little things. And when I’m restless or on edge, I become uncontainable. I turn into a crazed and violent person or wolf, whichever takes over. Only John can bring me back to my senses. He is my rock. My center. And the love of my life.” Aunt Bree’s eyes flicker when she describes how much John means to her. Listening to her makes me think about the alpha heir I left behind. The one who holds my heart. Cillian. “You were anxious because you were jealous of your fated mate’s wife? I don’t follow.” I ask, hesitantly, not wanting to offend John. “It may seem that way back then. But I know now, it was my wolf who felt unsettled and betrayed that the man chosen by the Moon Goddess for us was already with family and kids. My wolf wanted the mating mark to complete the mating bond. The mating mark would have helped in centering me, and balancing my emot

Chapter 68: The Alpha Luna

Kayleigh “Now, say what now? Did I hear that right? First we find out that gypsy wolves are actually hybrid werewolves. Now, you’re telling me, our delayed wolves isn’t caused by a tainted bloodline? Goddess. All these facts. I’m so glad we made this trip.” My eyes widen with this new bomb dropped in front of me. “I’m just as relieved as you, Kayleigh. When Gio mentioned about you not having a wolf, I kinda had an inkling that your situation is the same as mine. Not a lot of people know the truth about our late bloomer wolves. I still don’t know everything about it. I was 20 years old when I got mine, five years ago. Every day is a learning process.” Aunt Bree’s features soften, and it touches my heart. It feels like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. “Please tell me… if it’s not caused by a tainted bloodline, then what is it?” After years of wondering about my wolf, I finally have someone to ask about it. “It’s not called, ‘tainted bloodline’… it’s called the Alpha Luna bloodl

Chapter 69: Hybrid's Blood

Andrei “Are you okay, malyshka?” My eyes drift between Kayleigh and her aunt. I knew I was going to discover a lot of information today. I just wasn’t expecting it to include facts about me. I am a hybrid wolf. I still want to know more. But right now is about Kayleigh. John has been observing me, watching my every move. I’m waiting for him to say something through the mind-link but he hasn’t said a word. Maybe, like me, he is letting his woman have her time with Kayleigh. I definitely need to talk to him before the night ends. “This pounding headache is not going away. I was hoping it will at least ease a little after dinner. But I feel worse. I’m feeling hot and cold at the same time. I don’t feel well.” Kayleigh palms her nape and stretches her neck sideways. I pull her to lean against my shoulder. I feel her body tense, ripping a piece of my heart, yet again. I remember when she welcomed my touches, when our skin-to-skin contact seemed like a natural thing for her. Now, she he
