Chapter 31: Blaze hadn't returned yet!

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," said a shrill voice from inside. That gravelly accent was unmistakable. "Patricia Kyteler?"The old woman inclined her head regally. She now stood in the doorway of her house, dressed in a long white skirt and a short sleeves black blouse. Gold bracelets glittered on her wrists and gold chains roped her throat. Her long smoky-grey hair was straggled in a bun pinned to the top of her head. She just appeared out of nowhere like her house.Blaze was still staring. "But...""Your kind is not welcomed here." Patricia stated with a mocking cheerfulness that, Blaze felt, didn't really fit the circumstances. Patricia glanced around the entryway with a faint concern over her face. If Blaze hadn't already been looking at her, he would have missed it. "But you're a human," Blaze said, finally finishing his sentence."So observant," said Patricia, her eyes gleaming. "Your father really told you about his past

Chapter 32: The Full Moon has risen

The full moon has risen. It was happening again, the same experience that Lilith had the night of the mating season. A slight feverish sensation made her squirm in discomfort. Lilith wondered how this night was going to go. Katherine even seemed to look a bit uptight now.Blaze was still not back. A soft sigh escaped Lilith's lips as she looked away from Katherine. A faint knock on the front door pierced through the growing tension."It's Blaze," said Katherine with a glance at Lilith before she quickly rushed to get the door. Lilith heard them whispering. After a while, she knew Katherine had gone back to the pack house since she couldn't hear her voice anymore. She was now all alone with Blaze. That single thought brought a frightening yet pleasurable shiver down her spine. Blaming the mate bond, she stared at him as he walked into the room. His eyes narrowed into a glare on Lilith ever so slightly. He was fighting his

Chapter 33: Blaze shouldn't have marked a sigma!

Blaze could no longer control his wolf. Together, they marked every part of Lilith's body. Her neck, her ears, her lips and her arms!Unlike the past full moons he went through so far, this was the first time he lost complete control over himself. He could feel her heat, her desires, and her want for him.She was burning for him, craving for him. He couldn't deny that he felt the same for her.He trailed his tongue over the bite mark to close it.Satisfied, he pulled back slightly to stare at his mark on her neck. It was perfect! It fit perfectly like it was meant to be. He was filled with bliss. He finally claimed her as his. She wore his mark. And, she wore it with pride. Before he could rejoice some more, Lilith's arms around the back of his neck tightened. He glanced up at her. Their eyes locked. "Are you sure?" The question was so soft she hardly heard her voice over the shallows breaths that scalded her ear. "Don't you think you s

Chapter 34: Last night... it was a mistake.

Blaze opened his eyes and squinted into the blazing sun-light burning through the last of the morning fog. A tumbled mass of loosely curled long dark hair was spread over half of his pillow. Lilith's enticing scent was woven through the pillowcase, and he'd dreamt of her in the few couple of hours they had slept. Last night was... amazing. He'd silently vowed to bring down her heat. He had to stop his wolf from completing the mating. Either he liked it or not, Bash would have to deal with only having Lilith marked as theirs for the time being. He had put everything in lessening her heat and in keeping his wolf at bay at the same time. He didn't want to overdo things but he hated to admit that he might have overdone it last night. But in his defense, they both had survived the full moon. He would hate it if she regretted what happened last night. Would she be fine after realizing what really happened last night? They were both under the control

Chapter 35: Lilith was pulled into complete darkness

Blaze gazed downwards when Katherine walked in with a frown on her face.“Why is Lilith crying?” She questioned with her eyes narrowed down into slits.Blaze took a moment before answering. “I accidentally… marked her.”“You did what?” Katherine was shocked. She couldn’t believe Blaze would do such a thing.“We had to help her.” Blaze refuted as Bash nodded in unison.“That’s not how you help a sigma in heat.”“She’s my mate.” Blaze’s tone of voice was firm.“Mate or not, you shouldn’t have marked a sigma.” Katherine shook her head.“It doesn’t matter!”“Like hell it doesn’t!”“I couldn’t help it. I had to help her. She was hurting.”“You committed a sin. If the pack finds out that their future Alpha marked a sigma -”

Chapter 36: Using the mate bond as a remedy

Blaze swiftly caught Lilith as she fainted right into his arms. “Lilith?” Blaze shook her unconscious body. He panicked when she simply lay still and unmoving. “Lilith,” Blaze spoke quickly through his breaths, cupping her face in his hands. No response, not even a single muscle of hers reacted. Her body was completely limp, her breaths quiet yet quicker than normal. Anger began to slowly surface as he closely observed her condition. “Dammit Lilith, open your eyes!” Blaze partially begged. No! He needed to control his anger. This wasn’t a time to get angry. “Katherine!” Blaze called out alarmingly. Noting the agitation in Blaze’s voice, Katherine was there within seconds. “Dear lord, what happened to my child?” Katherine quickly reached for Lilith. Blaze reluctantly moved out of her way and handed Lilith over to her. He knew it would best to let Katherine check on her. She would k

Chapter 37: Lilith finally admitted defeat

Raine gave Blaze a sympathetic look once he was done recounting everything to her.Her eyes widened in disbelief after a moment of processing everything in her mind.“Wait! So, you kidnapped Lilith?” Raine queried as she bit down on her lower lip to hold in her amusement.“Everyone will be shameless during critical moments.” Blaze pointed out.“That’s not the way to do things, Blaze.” Raine said in between chuckles.Usually Raine was the one shouting all the time, not without any reason though. She knew when to stay silent and when to start yelling at Blaze for things he did wrong.Blaze would simply ignore her though and this time as well, he remained quiet and waited till she was done nagging him. This time around though, she kept talking and talking. His torso fell forward, supporting himself with his elbows on his thighs as he drew his hands down his face in frustration.Blaz

Chapter 38: I like you more

“I don’t want to lose you. I’ll make you accept the mate bond between us.” Blaze declared. His voice, deep and gravelly with undisguised want, scraped over her.“Whatever’s happening between us. One minute we’re fighting and the next…” His voice trailed off.“Last night… it wasn’t only your heat or the full moon. There was something else. You can’t deny that feeling, Lilith. You need to accept it.” He murmured into her ear.His breath grazed her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.Blaze’s breath caught when he heard Lilith sniffling. He pulled back with a sad smile to give her some space but there was disappointment in his eyes.“You avoid me, but you care for me… You hate me, but you don’t really hate me. I…I just don’t get it. Do you really feel nothing for me?” He queried. The tears start again and bef

He lay down beside her before turning on his side to face her. Katherine brought us some food from the pack house, some spicy chicken sandwiches, some French fries, and some lemonade. Katherine told him that it was for her and not for him which sucked! They ate their lunch quicker than usual considering it was way past the time they should have eaten something.Blaze finished first, setting his plate on the coffee table and watching her finish off her last couple of bites. There was a difference in the way she was holding herself. He never noticed it until now.Her shoulders were always straight.Whether she was standing, laying or even leaning forward while having food downstairs, her shoulders were always back as if she was always on guard around him.But now as she hovered over her plate, scraping
