Chapter 31: She's Pregnant

“Are you alright?” I ask Arabella when I walk into the bathroom, and they are on the floor in front of the toilet. Beta Karina is sitting next to Arabella and rubbing her back while she throws up into the toilet bowl several times in a minute.  Concerned, I lean down over her head and feel her forehead to make sure she doesn’t have a fever.  When I am sure that she doesn’t, I stand up and state, “I am going to go get the doctor.  Maybe he can figure this one out.”Just before I leave, Beta Karina states in a matter-of-fact tone, “Don’t bother.  I am pretty sure she is pregnant.  I am a midwife as you well know, and she is exhibiting all the signs of pregnancy in the first two months.”Shocked, I quickly ask, “What?”She starts to laugh and then replies, “You know what I said, don’t play innocent with me.  Everyone knows that she is your mate n

Chapter 32: What Am I Going To Do?

“How are you feeling this morning baby?” I cock my head and ask her softly while lying next to her on the bed.She barely opens her eyes as I run my fingers through her silky hair before she answers, “I have been better.  Honestly, if you keep that up, I am going to fall back asleep.  It feels so good.” She almost whispers and smiles before struggling to sit up.“Let me help you.” I say while I place my hand behind her back and watch her sit up to look at me with a questioning look on her pale face. Stretching, her bones creak and then she opens her eyes wide and says, “I feel fat.” When she looks at me with a frown looming on those sensuous lips of hers. How could she feel fat?  When she is always gorgeous in my mind.  I love her and nothing will change that.  Even when she becomes the size of a beached whale. Just thinking that, makes me laugh and then she glares

Chapter 33: Finally

“Arabella, look at this.” I say enthusiastically, as I point out the window to a majestic hawk that is perched on a limb. It is just a few feet from our window and staring at me with eyes of a true predator.  The wings are sand colored and the breast a bright white.  Surely, it must be a younger one, because the older versions colors is usually much darker. While thinking about how we will have our pups in just a few short months, I find myself smiling in spite of myself.  Arabella catches me and asks, “May I ask what you are smiling about over there?”Reaching for her, I take her by her round waist carefully and bring her closer for a kiss.  She doesn’t complain once and gives herself to me willingly with a grin.  I can only assume what she is thinking, but if it is anything like I am, it means one thing.  That she needs me like I need her. The doctor said the first few months might

Chapter 34: The Master

Things will change when the pups are born.  Arabella’s parents will want to visit and see them.  Hell, they probably will want to stay for a while too.  “I guess I can deal with that.” I murmur under my breath while scratching my neck. It’s amazing how big she has gotten since she has become pregnant.  Matter of fact, none of her clothes fit her anymore, so I have had several tailored especially for her. The minute the tailor brings them to our door, she jumps up and says, “Oh my gosh.  These are for me?” With a big smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. Is it bad that I did this just so I could see the delight on her face?  I know full well that later she will thank me in ways I can only imagine.  Or perhaps can hope for.Smiling, I answer, “Yes.  Of course, they are.  I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Yesterday, I saw that nothing i

Chapter 35: Everything Will Be Fine

The minute I open the door to the bedroom, I see her laying on the bed and crying.  “What’s wrong baby?” I rush to her side and then pick her up into my arms, genuinely concerned for her.As I hold her close, I notice that she is wearing one of the outfits I had made for her, and it really accentuates her curves.  Not to mention, the bodice has a plunging neckline that turns me completely on when I see her cleavage spilling out.  Shaking my head, I try to clear my mind because right now all I am thinking with is my little head, instead of what I should be.She looks up at me with tear-stained eyes and answers while choking on her words, “I thought you were dead.  Alpha Romeo came up here just a few minutes ago and warned me to leave the castle because there are whispers that you are dead.  He then said that I will be dead soon too, at this rate.” Then she continues sobbing into my chest.Hearing this, I hung

Chapter 36: The Case Of The Missing Girl

Rushing into the forest, I head in the direction that I heard her scream.  After several minutes, I keep running even though I hear nothing more except for the birds singing above my head.  I stop to scan the area for any signs of a struggle or if I can find anymore of her blood on the vegetation, but with nothing to go by, I pick a direction that calls to me for some reason. This time I am right fortunately, because the next thing I know I am just outside a small camp made up of two tents thrown together by tarps and ropes.  In the middle is a fire blazing and sitting next to it is Arabella and not a vampire, but another werewolf.  I can only tell, because her scent is so strong, and she looks like a rogue. She has tattoos all up and down her arms and her hair is formed into a mohawk with a braid hanging down the nape of her neck.  Arabella is sitting next to her bound by the wrists and the ankles, or at least it looks like.

Chapter 37: Just Kiss The Girl

As soon as I get her home and in bed, I tuck her in and kiss her cherry red lips.  She looks exhausted and her face is as pale as a ghost, so I leave it at that.  Hopefully, the cold hasn’t chilled her literally to the bone and doesn’t cause her to catch pneumonia. After making sure she is comfortable, I pull my clothes off and slide in behind her before lying my head down on the pillow.  When I hear her softly snore, I smile because it sounds really cute when she does it.  Hell, everything she does is cute, even when she yells at me. Tomorrow, I am going to take her over to the doctors and make sure she isn’t getting sick.  The last thing we need right now is her getting sick with those pups inside of her.  As I lay here struggling to fall asleep, I remember to check the windows and the door. After climbing out of bed and checking each one twice, I finally feel safer now in knowing that everything is l

Chapter 38: We Will Make It

“Doctor Hines, will she be alright to come home today?” I ask him quietly while concerned that something else might happen. The only problem with this whole scenario is the last couple of days while she was in the hospital room, there have been threats on her life and the pups.  So, being scared to lose her, I stayed here at her side to make sure that no one would even come near her.  It worked for the most part except last night a woman came in disguised as a nurse.  Before I knew it, she was on Arabella and tried to pump something into her veins. Dr. Hines, turns around with a grin on her face and asks jokingly, “Why?  You can’t wait to get her back so you can be alone with her again, can you?” He starts to chuckle, but then he sees the stern look on my face and thinks twice about it before continuing.  “Look, she will be alright assuming there are no more death threats or anyone who gets near h

Chapter 39: Does It Really Matter Anymore?

When I get her settled, I return to the door to talk with the security guards again and notice that there are only two of them who stayed.   Looking back and forth between them, I ask, “Where did everyone else go?”They stare at each other and shrug before answering one at a time, “I don’t know.  I was watching the door and then they just walked off in a large group after they received a phone call.” Then Beta Timothy chimes in with, “Like he said, but I heard one of them say, “Well, he just called and said we can leave for the rest of the night.”Concerned by this, I wonder who they were referring to.  I should be the only one they are taking orders from.  So, unless they are working for someone else, they must have thought that I called them.  How could that be? Clearing my throat, I glance around the surrounding area before stating, “That sounds like trouble, make sure t

Chapter 40: The Cabin

The minute we get there, I check to make sure that it is safe and sound before I hurry to scoop her out of the car and take her inside.  Opening the door slowly, I notice that it is unlocked and that concerns me a little, but perhaps Omega Dillon forgot to latch it when he left.  What is even more concerning when I get inside, is the fact that the building has been ransacked.  The furniture has been turned upside down and some things are strewn all over the front room.  “What will the rest of the cabin look like?”  I begin to wonder while turning over the small couch and a chair in the living room. When I reach the back bedroom, I see it lying there on the floor.  A dead deer that looks strangely familiar and then I remember it.  If I am not mistaken, this is the same mother that protected her fawn the same night that I first met Arabella.  Now I am saddened by the prospect that I may find the fawn dead al
