Rasmus was in the class waiting for the girl to show up. They've to submit their f**king assignment together. If it was possible he would have submitted it alone but the professor was asking questions regarding all the research work and for that, both the members have to be present. And just today that girl has to disappear. He waited for her until the whole class ended. She didn't come. If by any chance this was one of her tactics or game, then she was done for. Walking into the cafeteria, Rasmus walked to the table where she sits with all of her abnormal friends. Heck, he even thinks she was abnormal. Rasmus saw how the blond girl noticed him approaching. The smile was wiped off her face as she elbowed the jock sitting beside her and motioned in his way.

Catherine collided with his hard chest and tried to take a step back but he didn't let her. "What can you do huh? You want to make me feel better?" He snickered dangerously at her face as her eyes widened slightly. "Y..yeah... I can buy chocolates for you to make you feel better." She mumbled hesitantly, feeling afraid of the sudden dominating yet cold aura that surrounds him. Rasmus grabbed her jaw in his big calloused hand, causing her to gasp; he roughly jerked her face up in order to force her to look him in the eyes, she was avoiding eye contact. "What if I don't want chocolate but rather something else?" Rasmus sneered slowly right at her face causing her heart to drop down into the pit of her stomach when his olive eyes darkened as they looked at her from head to toe,

"Mr. Richard has sent this dress for you Catherine. He wants you to attend a fundraiser event with him tonight." Martha told the girl who was sitting near the window. "Martha, I'm not feeling well." Catherine said softly, making the woman smile at her tenderly. "I know honey, I'll try to talk to sir." Martha said and was about to leave when Catherine stopped her. "Wait, Martha. I'll go." Catherine said as she stood up. "Are you sure? I could try to make him understand that you're not feeling well." Martha said. "No it's fine." Catherine smiled as she walked into the restroom to take shower. Catheri

It was as if something was stopping her from fading away so she clung to it. Trying to hear the voice properly but it appeared like a faraway echo. Warm hands, they were big and calloused, the one holding her arms. The person was jerking her body, and he was trying to bring her back to reality. Who was this person? She heard him calling her Cath. He was saying something about breathing, wasn't she breathing? But she just can't breathe, it's not in her control. Darkness was all she could see. It was haunting her. She felt light through the curtains of her eyelids. Slowly she opened her eyes and blinked down. Light. There was light and just like that she was able to breathe again as Catherine took in a shaky breath. It was forced and small but the burning of her lungs eased a

"No one knows how I felt. I didn't tell anyone. No one needs to know. I was only left with my brother Adriel. He's 10 now." Catherine mumbled softly. "Who is your guardian?" He asked calmly. "Mr. Richard. My step dad. He is Adriel's father." Catherine said. Rasmus nodded his head knowing she was talking about that same Richard who organised this event. She lost her mother at a very young age, yet she appeared so normal. He knows trauma enough but how can she be so strong? Or perhaps she suppressed her sadness away and just didn't feel any emotions anymore, unlike him who was still stuck at the same place where he was three years ago. "Are we going to

"I want to help you." She mumbled. "You can't." He whispered. "Why are you behaving like this? It's like you don't even want to live. You should be happy that you're healthy and strong. You eat good food, you get a good education. You sleep peacefully in your bed. You should be thankful to God for all this but you just behave like a spoiled brat and are just wasting your life away." She blabbered feeling slightly angry. “Do you know how many people are suffering because of diseases!” She said rather angrily. "Shut up." He gritted out and rubbed his forehead. "I want to help you. Share your pain with me. You can cry too and let it all out." She m

Rasmus was frozen for a second before Catherine's eyes met his and she tensed up. Her face became pale as all the blood drained out of her system. "N..not here..." She whispered to Richard while pushing him back. He moved back and glared at her. Richard looked behind him where she was looking at and it only made him angrier. Grabbing her arm. He made her sit on the passenger seat, as he got on the driving seat as he drove off leaving the driver behind who had been waiting for his boss in the waiting area for the personal staff. Rasmus inhaled sharply. His

"I thought you were different. But it was all a facade you showed me." Rasmus said calmly. "You love your brother but behind his back, you sleep with his father." Rasmus mocked making a tsk sound. Catherine clenched her jaw as she closed her eyes shut for a brief second and then she sighed, calming herself down. "Why are you getting so riled up? Perhaps by any chance are you into me?" She mused with a soft smile adorning her lips as she looked up at him with big shiny eyes. Rasmus gritted his teeth in silent fury but her top-notch acting skills were making him angrier. In his rage, he took yet another step closer so there was just an inch difference between their bodies from touching. &n

F**k! F**k! F**k! Why? Just why was he getting so angry at her? This is her life, she'll do whatever the f**k she wants to do. He had no right to confront her like that. But he couldn't help it. He has been thinking about her a lot since the day he tried to scare off in that classroom. She even listened and started avoiding him but then something changed during that small time in the elevator. The woman stuck with him there wasn't just an ordinary girl who talked non-stop. That woman knows the meaning of life. She knows the depth of sorrow. She knows what agony feels like. That's why she wanted to help him. She could see his pain. She knew he was hurting. S

Catherine had been successful in avoiding him since last week. She didn't sit with him at the back or anywhere near him. She would change her path if she saw him coming from the front. Her smile would vanish off her face if she caught him watching her.Her friends instantly notice the change in her demeanor towards Rasmus, they even questioned to which she replied that he used to ignore her first now she was returning the favor.Rasmus on the other hand only looked at her with one emotion in his eyes. Disgust. It was so prominent in his eyes that she could never match his gaze. Nor, she wants to look at him anyway.Today the professor has given grades on their last assignment, in which she was paired with Rasmus. Both of them got A+. Professor also praised their efforts.
