Lily POV            Tonight, is the Summer Ball and our Pack, the Golden Moon Pack, is hosting this year’s event.  I am hoping to meet my mate tonight.  Well in truth I hope to meet my mate all the time.  Tonight, is just special because it brings a lot of unmated werewolves together into one space.  Wolves and she-wolves come from across the Country to attend this event.  This year is no different.            I never found my mate in our Pack, so I hope my mate is here tonight.  And I hope he doesn’t live too far away from my own Pack. Katie is my best friend and I can’t imagine life without her.  We’ll both be happy for each other when we find our mates, I just hope we find them together, so the loss is easier for us both.            I h

Lily POV            Popping out of bed this morning, I realize I have a date with my mate.  Wanting to dress to impress, I put on a cute summer dress in a pale blue that shows off my tanned skin.  The skirt comes to mid-thigh and has a cute vee neckline.  Adding my heels, letting my hair flow down my back, I grab my sunglasses as it looks like a beautiful day out there.            As I walk down to the dining hall, I don’t see Jared yet.  I go to sit at my usual spot and watch the door for him to arrive.  I order breakfast, as I can’t sit there and look like I’m waiting for someone.  That would be more humiliating for everyone to know I had been sitting here and might have been stood up by my mate. Not that everyone knew I had found my mate last night.  I hadn’t told my parents yet and I

Lily POV             After teary goodbyes with my family and Kate, I climb into the back of the SUV sent to pick me up to take me to Jared’s Pack.  There were two warriors in the front seat.  They acknowledged me as their Luna.  I nodded to them and smiled, asking their names.  We shared brief niceties and then they were talking about Pack business, which I knew little about.             One of the warrior’s noted it was unfortunate that Jared couldn’t make it to pick me up.  “Alpha Jared and Alpha Anya are always doing great things in the community and today is a picnic set up for the Pack children,” he adds.  Sitting there quietly, I try to control myself.  I don’t want my waves of anger to be felt in the vehicle.  Jared left me to come to his Pack alone so he could spend time with his chosen mate.  I understand

Jared POV            I sit and wait in the main living room for Lily to get back home from her “date” with Beta Rick. Rick has been my best friend from the time we were pups but right now he is my least favourite person.  I had paced for an hour and now I had decided to sit and calm myself.  I had to keep reminding myself this was my fault and not Lily or Rick’s.            As I finally hear footsteps coming up the stairs, I stand up waiting for the door to open.  I hear Lily laughing as she and Rick walk in, Rick telling her some story that has her in stiches.  As they walk in, Lily turns to Rick, “Thank you Rick.  This is the best night I have had in a long time, and for a first night at the Black Shadow Pack, it turned out alright,” she concludes.        

Lily POV            Jared and I have enjoyed the days we have had to get to know each other.  Everything has been much easier since Anya left.  We have been getting closer, being around my mate is amazing.  The sparks continue to grow between us, and our bond is getting stronger.             My days start out training.  While I trained at the Golden Moon Pack, I admit I never really took it seriously.  As a Luna I am expected to be strong and able to protect my Pack.  So, I have made it a priority to train hard with the men and women who also train daily.  I have definitely had my ass handed to me on a platter a couple of sparring matches, but I have come out ahead in some as well.  Once Jared and I mate and mark each other, I will become stronger.I have become a regular at the daycare.   I have h
