Chapter Thirty-Nine - Dream Vacation With Him

Marcus pulled her soft, curvaceous body into his arms, gazing deeply into her eyes. They held emotions that he had been running away from the last two years. Emotions of love that could last a lifetime! They weren’t the same emotions he had seen in Cassie’s eyes when they were together. Cassie’s feelings felt superficial compared to Cara’s pure and ardent feelings for him. “Why do you try when you can’t sleep without me, mia Cara?” He whispered, his mouth grazing her neck, trailing up to her ear. “Why do you call me that?” she answered with a question of her own. “Because you’re special.” Cara searched his eyes but didn’t find what she was seeking.  There was only desire reflected in his dark stormy eyes.

Chapter Forty - Unconditionally Yours

“Because you’re special, mia Cara,” was all he whispered. A dazzling smile lit up her innocent sweet face as she followed him inside the sprawling house. Everything about the island was absolutely gorgeous, the brightly hued sky, the tide rising and ebbing away, the birds flying homeward, the tranquil air all around, the sound of the water lapping on the shores, everything made it look like a private Zen retreat. It boosted Cara’s mood considerably as she followed Marcus around to inspect the place. Marcus selected the huge glass-enclosed gallery room as his studio and started setting it up. The view was excellent and he immediately was in the mood to start off his second painting of the series, “This place is so enchanting!” she gasped, staring all around the place with an enraptured look on her face. Cara sat down with her coffee and gazed into his beautiful eyes. “Good morning, Marcus. Yes, I slept so well that I didn’t know when you joined me.” Marcus smiled and shook his head. “I didn’t.” Cara gaped at him, looking confused.“What? Didn’t you sleep last night?” she asked, fee

“Why can’t I?” Marcus asked, looking a little hurt at her question. The last two days, despite being annoyed with her, he had climbed into the bed with her when she was in deep sleep. Let’s go together, please.” Cara sighed and nodded, making his eyes brighten with happiness. He leaned in and claimed her mouth in a passionate kiss, a kiss that he had been dying for in the last two days. He sighed into the kiss, thankful they could patch up after their first fight! Cara
