Chapter 11

It was still night time and Marcus and I were outside standing a few feet apart from each other. The Owls hooted in the distance and crickets chirped in the nearby bushes. “What are we doing?” I asked Marcus, half yelling across the yard to him. He wore a grey jacket over a white shirt and black sweats. Marcus gave me a grin before saying, “Honing your skills some before we head in.” He positioned himself into a running stance and before I asked him what he meant, I heard a whooshing sound then tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw him standing there with cocky smile. “Over time you will get better at doing this,” He directed my attention to the tree line where it met with the forest. “Now you give it a go. Remember to focus and breathe.”“I thought vampires didn’t breathe?” I asked. “Or was the all folklore as well.” I bent down slightly and focused toward the forest. I heard Marcus giv

Chapter 12

I peered at the girls from behind a tree bark, just behind their tiny cabin. Just watching as both of them spoke to one another. Marcus and Blake had gone elsewhere, probably to gather blood for all of them to last for a little while longer. So this is the new addition to the small group? I asked myself. She was beautiful along with her flame colored hair and delicate features. She had a nice figure to her. With decent hips and a nice rump. My ears perked as a sound came from behind me. My head turned toward the noise and I saw Gabriel. My heart dropped and I wanted to flee. What was he doing here? No doubt stalking me and making sure that I didn’t cause any trouble. I hated him for being so nosey and it made me want to punch him in the groin. “What are you doing out here by yourself?” His voice was like nails on a chalkboard. It made you want to cover your ears until the sound was gone. I stood up straight so that I wasn’t in view of the girls. Nora and the

Chapter 13

Present Day/Night Nora & Blake’s P.O.V Nora and Blake sat by the lake, on top of some rocks, watching the water ripple slowly in the wind. It was a fresh night and all the animals were out doing their own nightly business. There was a silence before Nora spoke, her voice quiet but able to be heard. “How much longer before this is over?”Blake whom stayed quiet as well looked at Nora and lifted a hand to push a lock of hair behind her ear. “I’m not sure,” his tone was soft and loving. “But I’m certain that Marcus is advising a plan to clear our names.” His hand went to grasp hers, giving it a small squeeze for comfort.“We didn’t do what Sarene accused,” Nora’s response a pout and Blake held back a small grin that quivered at the corner of his mouth. “As you know we’ve been elsewhere.”“I’m aware of this,” Blake said as calmly

Chapter 14

I was alone. Even in all this. I was utterly and completely alone. I may not be when it came to Marcus and his friends but I was. I should've said no to being turned then maybe all this would have gone away but I felt at the time of dying, I had more to live for. What good is it when the people around you only care about themselves and your just on the sidelines waiting for something to happen?  My life before this was just to go about my everyday life without batting an eye about the things that went on around me. I thought that by me getting another shot meant a fresh start. It turned out that I was wrong. Before my thoughts got out of control, I felt the hands of another on my shoulders and before I had the chance to protest or even scream. “Don’t even try to get help,” a male voice said from behind me. He radiated dominance and I felt like I should have called Marcus and the other two but I didn’t know what this person could do. “If you do then

Chapter 15

I turned my attention back to Gabriel and took calming breaths to tame the fear that I was feeling but no matter how many I took, it still lingered like shadows in a deep dark void. "What did he ever do to you that wanted revenge?" I asked, keeping his attention to me. Gabriel scoffed and tightened his grip on me. My tone held fear but like any normal person, I wasn't. Not anymore."He hasn't told you the story bout Him and I?" Gabriel's tone sounded surprised and I arched and eyebrow in confusion. "Looks like I get to tell you my story first." He seemed thrilled by the idea but then I used my peripherals to only to notice that Marcus was right behind Gabriel. A smirk curled his lips and a fang peered out, gleaming beneath what moonlight seeped through the tree line."Doubt you would get a chance." I mumbled before my own fangs came out and I bit him harder than thought I could. I heard Gabriel grunt as I spun out of his grip. but before Gabriel could react Marcus put

Chapter 16

Sarene's hands shook nervously as she sat near her arched window overlooking the castle courtyard. The people went about their lives as any would. She heard talking but paid no mind to it. Instead she worried about Gabriel's plan to rid her of the throne. Sarene wasn't ready to give up on her place as queen. It was her right and heir. She needed to do something before it was too late. A knock sounded and she took a breath. “Who is it?” The fear that she felt rose in her chest but she tried to contain it as much as possible. Earlier in the night she had asked one of her hand maids to retrieve a narcotic that would put Gabriel asleep for a long while so that she had enough time to send him far away from here. It was high time that she ruled without the fear of her second in command breathing down her neck every time she turned around. Serene hoped it was him so she could get the deed done. The door to her quarters opened and in stepped Gabriel. He adorned his

Chapter 17

My thoughts raced as I used my new found ability to rush through the forest trees and underbrush with Blake and Nora behind me. I felt the small breeze go through my red hair, which had changed when I turned. I no longer had a heart beat so the sound of it bounding in my ears was no longer visible but that wasn't what really concerned me at all. It was the impending situation that was ahead of me and the though I was immortal, there was still some things about this life I still needed to get used to. One was my other powers that seemed to lay dormant inside of myself and the fact that I haven't had the chance to really discover what those were. It made me worried that this encounter with Gabriel and his strengths may exceed mine considering that I was still a newborn and couldn't truly understand the levity of my own morals. Marcus may of taught me the basics of being a vampire but there was more to it than met the eye. I understood all of it but when I was told that I had hidden ab

Chapter 18

I waited for a response and with every second that had passed, my adrenaline had kicked into the point of worry.  It’s about time you decided to drop that wall of yours. His voice eased itself in teasingly and the thought of it made my insides sort of melt like ice cream. I took in a sharp breath as though something had hit me but then it was also the fact that I was nervous about the fact that I was about to tell him what my crazy and obnoxious plan was. The fact that I was about to do something insane with Blake and Nora by my side to do it. You don’t need to tell me anything. I already know what is going on. My eyes widened with shock but then again I had an inkling on how he did. Nora or Blake must have said something to Marcus without me knowing and I suppose that it was alright considering the situation. I was about to do something very reckless and stupid without even thinking. I guess it was Nora or Blake that must have said something.  I s

Chapter 19

Remus Pack Meeting “What are we going to do about them?” Emelie Drake had asked Jarvis as she paced frantically back in forth in front of the grand oak table that sat in the massive dining room. “The newborn was close enough to the castle that it made me worry that they'd figure out what is going on.” Her face, dulled by shadow and a faint red and orange glow from the fire, made it seem as though she were fierce and let's face it, Emilie wasn't fierce. “I doubt they would of gotten close enough,” Jarvis said as he placed his goblet of water on the table in front of him. “They don't know a thing as of yet and when they do, things won't end pretty.”“How long can you keep this up?” She asked as she flopped into one of the chairs that seated the rest of the pack. Her eyes said so much and yet didn't bother to say a word. Emelie wasn't the talkative type and the only thing that got her to speak

Chapter 20

I heard voices but they were only echoes in my mind and for a brief moment I had thought that I was going crazy. Memories flashed before my eyes. Of Marcus and I, locked in the cells of that lab. Doctors doing their rounds and scientists not far, jotting down our results in charts that were unable to be seen. The moment Marcus was able to escape was they day began to loathe him for everything that he was. The friendship that we had formed was now gone and in its' very place was a sense of revenge. It was more of a need than a feeling. Marcus had abandoned me and that was enough to never want to see him alive. Fate on the other hand, had its' course and when he showed up at the castle that night, he saw the opportunity. The chance to exact that need. I heard myself grunt at the thought and by the time I fully came to focus, he realized that there were more than two guards dragging his dead weight down into the dungeons and of course he was too weak to do anything. The gu
