Sometime in the middle of the night, the boys came back and Reed carried a sleeping Kelly back to their room and Wyatt slipped into bed next to me. I managed to stay up till 11pm and we ate our food and drank the soda as we watched ’50 First Dates’. It felt good to just be a teenage girl again and not have the weight of the world on your shoulders. I don’t know why but I suddenly got really insecure. My body is not like what it used to be. It was covered in scars and yellow bruises that were almost faded. My skin was no longer flawless. The kitchen was busting at the seems as everyone was trying to get some food and find a place to sit. Most had moved to the actual dinning room but some are still lingering at the counter tops. The staff had prepared almost everything you could think of; cold cut sandwiches, pastas, hamburgers, quesadillas, and a variety of salads. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised as the war will start tomorrow and there a lot of guest for the day. “Mom and everyone are outside on the patio eating, lets grab something and head out there?” Wyatt said almost yelling at me so I could hear him. A silent yet adrenaline filled hush fell on the cabin of the plane as it slowly made its’ stop. The lights went out and everyone was waiting for the command to proceed. Reed stood up and started to exit the plan with Wyatt and myself behind him. Watching myself walk from my mind is crazy. I felt like I needed popcorn as the anticipation was overwhelming. For no reason other than it felt right, everyone was crouched down as they exited in a hurry and ran to the near by forest for cover.
