Chapter 71 - Arya

We park the APCs at our pack and shift, making our way on foot to the Mani Pack.  It’s only about a two hour run, which isn’t much for a wolf.  Xander sent several scouts ahead of us to check out what the situation around the packhouse was and dispose of their guards.  After about a 30 minute lead, the rest of us head to the Mani packhouse.  We make it there at about dusk. The scouts report to Xander and he shifted back so that he could talk to the three packs.  “The scouts reported that all of the wolves are around the packhouse grills, preparing for dinner.  They killed about 20 guards and are reporting about 60 more wolves in and around the packhouse.  We’ll split into three groups and met up with the scouts on three sides of the packhouse.  One in front, one on the northeast corner, and one on the northwest corner.  We’ll fan ou

Chapter 72: Devin

I had no idea that she was cutting us off from her emotions.  I feel like the worst type of asshole that I didn’t insist that she go to the hospital while we were still on Diana Pack lands.  But even Lily had taken her word and said that we could wait. Right now, Xander and I are in the waiting room outside of the surgical suite.  Arya had to have a D&C.  I had never heard of one before and Lily was patient as she explained it to us.  When they completed the sonogram, they had found that not all of the placenta had detached from Arya’s uterus.  This is super dangerous, even for a wolf, and so they had to do surgery to get everything out. We were allowed to stay with her during the pre-op phase, but when they wheeled her into the operating room, we had to leave.  She’d been in there for about 30 minutes when the doctor ca

Chapter 73 - Gael

It’s 3 am and Hakeem and I are in the shower.  I wish it was for something fun, but we are trying to get ready to leave for  the New Moon Pack land.  Trying being the operative word.  Hakeem LOVES sleep.  And he is not doing well right now.“Tesoro, you have to wake up.”  I rub the loofa over his body, trying to shake him awake.  His eyes are closed and his head falling to the side.“No.” He whines, his eyes closed and head laying on my shoulder.  “I miss Merry.  Let’s go curl back up with her.”“We can’t, Tesoro.  We’ve gotta go.&

Chapter 74 - Alessandra

It’s about a five and a half hour ride to the New Moon Pack territory and we make it there by mid-morning.  From scouting reports, there was no one around yet and Seth’s texts had said that no one would arrive until around midday.  We had plenty of time to set up defenses and patrols. Thankfully, when the original massacre had happened at the New Moon Pack, the alphas had sent in a cleaning team.  They had burned the bodies and buried the ashes and they had cleaned the worst of the blood and gore from the packhouse.  We had plenty of space for all of the wolves with us and it was recommended that we get a few hours of shut eye before the action started. But, before that, Liam, and I sit down with Gael and Hakeem, along with both deltas to go over strategy. “Patrols?” Gael asks his delta, Patri

Chapter 75 - Gael

Hakeem and I set alarms on our phone to wake us up.  Multiple alarms.  On both our phones.  Because Hakeem needed them.  Tesoro was exhausted from waking up early, our morning romp with mi reina, and the long ride here.  I finally got him up by literally tickling him until he fell out of the bed.  And then, we ended up making out, only to be interrupted by Patrice knocking on the door, telling us to get up and grab some food.I trail kisses from his mouth to his matemark, biting down lightly.  Hakeem growls softly, holding my head to his mark.  I suck on his mark, my hands playing down the sides of his bare chest before grabbing onto his waist a

Chapter 76 - Hakeem

Keegan left his beta, Donavan, in charge while he and Patrice...got acquainted.  Donavan and a few of the other wolves sat down with Alessandra, Liam, Jordan, Gael, and me to look over a map of Mathias’s territory from their vehicles. Now Mathias wasn’t stupid enough to give us a map that had all of his safe houses and stuff on it, but the fact that we had a more accurate view of his territory, including hunting trails, small ponds, and shading for the dense parts of the forest was much more helpful than the general view we got from a typical human map. Donavan pointed out where things were situated, including where all of the she-wolves and pups from every pack were.  The fucking homophobic prick was keeping all of them close to where he was so that the other packs would have “motivation” to  keep him safe.  Low growls rumbled through all

Chapter 77 - Diego

Earlier that morning:I wake to Karamea’s scent in my nose, the feeling of sparks from her head on my chest, and the sound of my phone alarm going off.             She reaches over and turns the alarm off, sitting up and stretching. Turning to me, a smile stretches across her lips. “Good morning, handsome.”           “Only good thing about it is you,” I groan, trying to pull her back down to the bed and into my arms.             She laughs at me and pulls out of my reach, hopping off of the bed and flicking on the lights.    &nbs

Chapter 78 - Karamea

Diego rolls off of me, pulling me into his chest.  I rise up to kiss him before going to the bathroom quickly.  When I return, he puts his arm out and I snuggle into him, putting my head on his chest.  He wraps his arm around me and kisses my hair. Running my hands over his abs, I ask, “How long have you wanted pups?” He sighs and I feel the rumble of it in his chest.  “I hadn’t really thought of it until we got the news about Arya.  That got me thinking about you and Lily and what it would be like to have both of you pregnant at the same time.” “You really think that you could handle two pregnant she-wolves?  Based on how Carmen ran Declan ragged and how Brandon and Zak are treating Charlie like a queen, I think both of us pregnant would be the death of you.”  I laugh against h

Chapter 79 - Diego

We are all in position, listening to the Lycaon Pack climb out of their vehicles.  They are cussing and growling at each other until we hear a wolf I assume is Ivan scream at them all to “quit your bitching and get to work unpacking.”I watch from the window to ensure that they don’t see any of our wolves before I nod to Sam.  He links the wolves that are providing the distraction.  Howls break through the air and I see the enemy freeze, their attention shifting to that direction.Ivan whistles and flicks two fingers towards the woods.  About 10 wolves head towards the howling.  Not exactly what we wanted to happen, but not out of the realm of expectation.  I hear Sam link the wolves and know that Campbell is doing the same.  Our wolves in that direction are some of our quickest and strongest warriors.

Chapter 80 - Karamea

Sam and I had been watching the wolves that had been fighting on the side of the woods.  Several of our wolves appeared to be injured, but the majority of them were fine.  The enemy wolves that had gone to help were standing at the edge of the woods, watching our wolves surround them.  They don’t seem worried though.  More like they’re excited for the fight. We turn when we hear the whoosh of a flame catching and turn to see Becca’s body engulfed in flames.  Her screams sear themselves into my brain and the backs of my eyes.  The heat of the flames rolling off of her is enough to make us step back, even though we’re a good 10 feet from her.  Her body writhes on the ground as she attempts to roll back and forth on the ground to smother the fire.  But it doesn’t work.  It’s too
