She had imagined hundreds of ways of killing Karan with more and more pain for each blow he gave her. So, he did what he could, he rushed to see Maya. He knew Maya loved her father more than anything and if Jay was killed then Maya would go on a rampage to hunt down the killer. He at all costs wanted to stop that. This was the exact thing that he feared the most, the thing that would snatch his Maya away from him all over again.     "No! I can't lose all over again!"
