11. Training

KIARA The moment he had that sadistic smirk on his face and cracked his knuckles when he scanned our warriors, I knew he was going to be ruthless. Was it even fair for him to join? "Alright, everyone! We have the honour of having The Alpha King himself here…" Liam said. I didn’t say anything. Anyone would know who he was, the power that rolled off him was not one that could be ignored. Despite the fact his sexy appearance distracted me from his power, it was ever-present like a darkness around him. The training grounds were separated into sections for different levels and sessions, as well as different training activities. There was target practice for shooting, with a large wall behind it so we didn’t end up hitting anyone. Then there were the tracks and the training in wolf form area. We also had weapons practice as well as hand-to-hand. I was the only one who used a staff in human form for both weapon and hand-to-hand training. For hand-to-hand pra

12. One Chance

ALEJANDRO This was fucking fun. The fucker was good, but not good enough. With each hit, I went faster. He was trained well, probably up to par with my top warriors, but nowhere near as good as me. I had just elbowed him in the neck, when my eyes fell on Kiara. She was sparring with her brother, blindfolded. I blocked the Beta’s attacks, my eyes on her. If I thought she let her sight or ankle hold her back, I was wrong, way fucking wrong. She moved like an assassin and I had to admit it was sexy. Was it weird that I was checking out a girl who was barely legal? This was fucking messed up. An image of her clad in lingerie and wrapped around a pole entered my mind and I dragged my eyes away. I needed a fucking distraction from her. I focused on the man in front of me, a little bored with the fight now. With a few punches, I knocked him to the ground before twisting his arm behind his back about to break it when I heard a groan and a giggle. I let go of

13. Emotions & Confusion

KIARA I could not believe he did that. The dickhead! Urgh, I was so going to get him for this! “Guys?” Liam said again, his eyes now a deep magnetic navy. “Justin, carry on with the training.” The young man, who was in his mid-20s, nodded - motioning for everyone to carry on. Raven looked at me and I gave her a nod. I needed her. Guaranteed, Liam will flip… Liam walked off and we all knew he wanted us to follow him. I looked at Damon. ‘We got this.’ He said through the link. I took a deep breath as we followed Liam into the packhouse and into the lounge. He looked around, seeing two teens on the sofa. “Out.” He said curtly. Liam was friendly, however when he got angry, it wasn’t good. Raven shut the door after the two boys left and he turned his darkened eyes on us. “Care to explain why you’re fucking my sister?” He said, now turning to Damon. With anger radiating off of him the air in the room felt thick. I loo

14. Her Anger

ALEJANDRO My anger flared up and I grabbed her throat, not caring that my claws dug into her soft skin. I hate disrespect and I will not tolerate it from anyone. I warned her and if she thought I was playing, then she had a lot to learn. I slammed her to the ground, but at the last moment I found myself slowing down. I couldn’t. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t fucking hurt her the way I wanted. I internally felt the crunch resonate through me as she met the ground. She gasped; her hands were wrapped around my wrist tightly as the smell of blood filled the air. I saw the pain that flickered across her face but it did nothing to lessen the burning flame of anger in her eyes. “It’s all you’re good at, right? Do it again if it makes you feel better, but I am not scared of you!” She hissed. Her words sounded distant, as all I could focus on was the blood that surrounded the ground around her. Fuck! I shouldn’t have done it. My heart was racing in a way it

15. What's Best For Her

LIAM "Liam! Wait!" I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down as Raven caught up to me. I didn’t want to talk to anyone right now. I mean, I just realised my best friend was screwing my sister behind my back. I don’t know what was worse, the fact they were sleeping around or the fact they were doing it so casually. I knew Damon had a sex partner; he had told me that. However, he always spoke of her with this small smile and I knew he liked her, but he had never told me who she was. Well, that made sense now. I didn’t once think it was Kiara. "Liam." Raven said, now placing her hand on my arm. She was tiny but her personality made up for it. I was 6,4 give or take, and towered over her. "Raven." I replied, ignoring the look of concern in her unique eyes. "They’re adults, Liam." She said gently. I knew she was hurt but I was not sure if it was only because of Kiara hiding it from her or because it was Damon. I knew she

16. A Hopeful Suggestion

KIARA   When Dad walked in, the rage on his face was palpable. I knew he was angry at me but I wasn’t wrong either. "Elijah." Mom began. "Not now Red. This time I’m not going to listen." He said quietly. "I think we all need to calm down first." Liam said. Forever the peacemaker in the family, but I was glad he wasn’t angry; I will talk to him about Damon later. I owe him that much. "Don’t tell me to calm down." Dad growled. "Elijah baby, he’s right." Mom said as she walked over to him, wrapping her arms around him and burying her head in his neck. The frown on his face didn’t let up but I sensed him calming down, although he was fighting to stay angry at me. "Let’s talk calmly." She whispered into his ear. Goddess. The magic mom had to tame dad was impressive. But before dad could reply the doorbell rang and I was hoping whoever it was, came with a distraction that would stop this from gett

17. Helping The Injured

KIARA Dad’s words had shaken me but he had refused to allow me to join him. Dad, Liam and Jackson had gone, I knew even mom was irritated that dad told her to stay put. "Come on, let’s go make sure everyone’s accounted for." Mom said frowning. Was everyone being called back? How bad was it? "Any updates?" I asked, grabbing my staff as we left our house, rushing towards the packhouse. Mom was frowning and she nodded. "It was a rogue attack." She replied. "How did they get past patrol?" "By killing them." Her reply shot through me. Someone had died, or more than one. We hadn't had a loss of a pack member in years… "Kiara, go to the hospital. Do what you can to help. There are several injured." Mom’s voice was filled with urgency and I nodded, changing direction and heading to the hospital. Even if I wanted to go to where the fight was, I knew where I would be of most help at. I wasn’t a professional medic

18. The Wendigo

KIARA ‘Dad, the hospital just experienced a disturb-‘ The lights suddenly went out and I froze. Luckily it was still light outside but whatever had caused this was nearby. ‘Kiara, Why aren't you home?’ Dad called back. ‘I told her to go to the hospital.’ Mum joined in. ‘I’m fine but something isn't right here.’ I replied, hearing the shrill scream of a nurse. ‘Kiara stay put!’ Dad growled. 'Ok.' Yes I lied. I couldn't just do nothing, something was wrong and I was probably one of the strongest ones around with most of the doctors’ being omegas and the patients too injured to fight. I grabbed my staff from the hallway, rushing down the hall towards where I heard the scream. The smell of blood grew stronger and I stopped when I saw it. The disgusting creature looked partially wolf and partially human but not like a Lycan. It looked more like a deformed monster with its elongated limbs and the haunting look of hunger that

19. Temptation

ALEJANDRO Her eyes widened in surprise at my words. Well, fuck. I really do need to learn to keep my mouth shut. I looked away from her, trying to ignore the scent of hazelnut chocolate that seeped off of her. Fucking Goddess, did she have to be so fucking tempting? Why did I even like chocolate? I glared at her, annoyed by her silence. "Let me check your wounds." She said. "Need an excuse to touch me?" "You wish." She retorted, giving me a deathly glare. "What was that supposed to be? You looked like a fucking constipated cat." I remarked whilst walking over to the wendigo to begin searching it. Was there really nothing on it? Once again, no clue... I felt her walking over and the anger that was radiating off her. Seems like daddy’s girl knew how to obey because she kept her fucking mouth shut. I mean, I knew of a few ways I could keep that mouth busy… I frowned as she crouched down, observing the Wendigo. "It was in p

20. A Little Freedom

KIARA There was something between Alejandro and me. I don’t know what it was but I saw the way he didn’t even bother to look at the women who wanted a sliver of the Alpha Kings' attention. But when he would look at me, I didn’t miss the hunger in his dark onyx eyes. He could deny it all he wanted but I got his heart racing too, just as he did mine. What was it? Soon I knew he’d be leaving and returning to his own pack. Just the thought made my stomach sink. I was totally confused; I mean, the guy got me so worked up that we were constantly at each other’s throats. It was weird. I had never been attracted to anyone so strongly before – then there was the fact that he was thirty-four! That in itself shocked me, he was almost double my age. If Dad knew what went through my mind, I'm sure he’d lock me in the cells for the rest of my life. Things with Damon had been kind of strange. I mean, he was quieter, and I knew our ‘breakup’ had affected him. The night after
