Chapter 71

"Doctor, how's he?" Sanaya trotted towards the doctor as soon he came out of the OT. "Ahh, you are..." "She is Mr. Davis's wife." Upon Kyle announcing so, the doctor immediately contended, "Mr. Davis is out of danger now. But we can't guarantee anything... I mean his condition is not stable yet." Mona and Danielle both spared each other a glint as they were shocked to know that Sanaya was Nicolas Davis's wife. Things turned out surprisingly sophisticated. "What..." "He's still unconscious." "When will he wake up?" "Well, we can't say when he will wake up. He has lost a lot of blood and his body is very weak now. If he would... If he would come a little late, then we wouldn't be able to save him." Sanaya peeked inside the room while hearing what the doctor said. Her heart was agonizing, she glimpsed at Nick while letti

Her face brighten up and she wiped off her tears with the back of her palm. Getting up she quickly ran to call out, "Doctor, my husband...." "Wait, Sanaya." But Nick grabbed her hand from behind, telling her to not call them. "You woke up, I am going to call the doctor..." "No, don't." He strangely protested, she couldn't understand why. "Why not?" "I will tell you, but to know it you have to stay shhh." Sanaya showed him a confused gaze and then no more asking, she said, "Ok..." "Come here." As he called her she sauntered close to him. Standing at his side she was about to say something but he interrupted her, "I mean come HERE." He told her, showing her the bed. "Wait, I can't get there. You...." "I know you are worried about me but... I am absolutely fine so come here." He said patting on the bed gently. "You were

Chapter 73

It was not yet past 12.30 am, young Davis couple was dozing on the hospital bed. The guards were patrolling the outside as usual. But Kyle and Aiden, both were gone in the air. Crack! Hearing a sound coming from the verge of the floor, all the guards glanced in that direction. They were alert, they started gesturing at their mates, and then... Two guards fell to the ground and other guards immediately ran in that direction but soon they fell to the ground unconsciously. Only six guards were left now. Oddly, fewer people seemed to be present on that floor. The two guards in front of Nick's room stood in their place and the four guards suddenly fainted on the ground. Strange, they didn't see anybody but there was something wrong in the air, the smell in the air was a mixture of toxicity and sweetness. Seeing all the guards be knocked out, the left two guards stared at each other and they stood at the p

Chapter 74

"Mr. Davis..." The leader broadened his eyes. Blood was dripping down on the floor. As the leader pulled out the knife, Nick let out a little painful moan. He glared at Sanaya, he was grateful that it was not her but him. He caressed her face and moved a strand of her hair over her face. It got him so frightened, if he was late for another second the knife would have probably ended it...  "Mr. Davis, your..." Nick stood still and then glanced at the man who was now sitting on the ground. Thinking he would better run from there, as soon as he got up Nick grabbed his collar. "Mr. Davis, please have mercy." Nick lifted him in the air by grabbing his neck. "Mr. Davis... Please...." The man held his hand hoping he would let him go but he instead carried him higher up. The intensity in his eyes mixed with outrage, it could be understood how enraged he was at t

Chapter 75

"Mr. Davis, he said he has a plan. He said you will not be harmed and you just have to believe him, just give him a chance. He's sure his plan is gonna work." On the call, Aiden contended so. "Ok, I will go there then." Saying so Nick hung up. He was standing in front of the mirror, in the bathroom. He speculated that the man was lying and that what he said was a pure lie.  Getting out of the bathroom he put on his suit and then he strolled towards the bed. He crouched next to her and held her hand.  "I know he is lying. Dad loves me very much, there's no way he wants to kill me. I know that... I know if I go there, I might meet the real culprit behind all this. It can't be my dad, never." Nick mumbled. Though these past months he didn't get to meet his dad he was sure his dad badly missed him. A dad could never tryna kill his son when he loves him so much. Beep! Beep!

Chapter 76

The loud shriek of the thunderstorm tore apart the earth as if the world was going to be destroyed tonight. The sudden roaring of the thunderstorm woke her up from her sleep. Sanaya opened her eyes and glanced at her next. "Nick, where is he?" Sitting on the bed she yawned and rubbed her eyes, she got down from the bed. "He should have woke me up if he was going to the..." Taking some steps suddenly she noticed the surrounding. "Wait, this is not the hospital but... How did I come back to the mansion? And where is he?" Sanaya checked in the bathroom and upon not finding him anywhere in the room she wandered out of the room. She started looking for him in the whole mansion but strange, she couldn't find him. Sanaya stepped downstairs and just when she was about to run toward the kitchen she saw Kyle and Aiden. One was playing on his phone and the other one was sleeping on the couch. "You guys are here

Chapter 77

"Here, you can put these on." She passed him a shirt and sweatpants. As he took them, she glowed at him and declared, "I will cook dinner for us, well soon it will be morning haha. You change first, then you can come down ok?" He shook his head. After she left, Nick glanced at the shirt in his hand. If not for her being with him, he would probably stiffen in the rain. Stepping into the washroom, his eyes surveyed the washroom. It had her smell lingering in the air and the room was squeaky-clean and neat. Standing before the mirror he took off the wet shirt that he was wearing and put it aside. The scars on his body were gone now but he remembered all the sufferings he has gone through. Sometimes he didn't even remember what he did, when he woke up he just found out that he was hurt, sometimes he found himself lying on the floor when cracked pieces of reflector were everywhere. Now, he understood how

Chapter 78

Nearly the dawn, the sun would peek through the curtains soon. Probably everybody in that tall building was sleeping but the one in the middle east still had lights on. "All done." Taking a yawn, she outstretched her arms. She was finally done with the dishes and she was heading toward her room now. Sanaya stepped into her room carefully on her tiptoes and the first thing she saw was him. Nick was sleeping on one side of the bed soundlessly. He seemed to be wearied.Seeing him doze, she let out a sigh. He would probably stay with her if she wouldn't have sent him forcibly.Sanaya looked at the wall clock. Tick! Tick! Tick!'Let's take a two hours sleep.' She slowly made her way towards the bed. She got on the bed slowly and then laid down. A sigh of comfort left her mouth as soon as her body enveloped the soft bed. A tough day it was! When she turned the lights off, Nick turned his head towards her. Thinking he might have been disturbed, she held onto her breath. But unlike she th

Chapter 79

"So we went to Griffith Observatory and Griffith Park, the Getty Center, the Hollywood walk of fame, Santa Monica Pier and beach and... And right, the Original Farmers Market and The Grove, The Broad..." She was waddling his side by side and talking while their hands were intertwined. Like any other ordinary couple, they walked on the road when they had to. No cars, no limelight, nobody disturbed them. It was near dusk, and Sanaya took out her bucket list and contended while still holding his arm. "We can still go to many places. If we go to Santa Monica Pier now then we can see a classic seaside amusement park that glows with neon at the night. We can take a ride on the iconic Ferris wheel and roller coaster and then..." Sanaya stopped talking when she saw he was staring at her. Right, she had been talking so much today. "Sorry, I was checking where can we go next. Here, you decide where you wanna go next."She handed him the paper. She made a list of places she wanted to go with

"You didn’t kill them, don’t blame yourself…” she brushed his shoulder gently and asserted so.“I couldn’t save them, I was such a coward.
