Chapter 1

“Katie!” A loud shout echoed all over the shore. A girl suddenly stopped painting and turned around to see where the voice came from. When she saw who it was, she smiled and waved. It’s just Victoria, her BFF, Katie said to herself. She motioned her to come closer and Victoria came immediately. “What is it?” said Katie and continued with her work. Katie was too focused that she didn’t even notice the nervousness on Victoria’s face. Victoria was still gasping for air as she gazed at Katie’s painting. “Wow, that’s a piece of art. I thought you’re already finished with that?” Victoria asked curiously while still looking at the painting. To her amazement, she had forgotten why she went to find Katie.

Lucas’ POV “What happened Lucas? Why are you wet?” Uncle Isko asked worriedly when I met him in front of the gate. A cold wind caused a shiver down my spine causing me to sneeze. I watch him hurriedly left to get a towel and I went into the house still shivering.“I went to the beach to take pictures, sorry for going out without telling,” I apologized in a shy tone. Uncle Isko returned with a towel in his hand and handed it to me. I sneezed once again, I’m not so fond of a cold weather especially the rain.“Thank you, ” I thanked him with a smile when I took the towel. I immediately wiped my camera with the towel. Muffled giggling and voices are heard, it was coming from outside the bedroom door. I felt a sudden sharp pain when I tried opening my eyes. Slowly, I got up and dizziness started lingering, I tried opening my eyes for the second time but my vision is blurry. I can see just hints of my room but it is hazy but I can see that it is already getting dark. For a whole day I slept with no failure, I remembered Vicky visited me this morning and told me I have a fever when place her hand in my forehead. I feel sick since last night, every time a wind passed by it causes shivers down my body and felt cold. Slowly, I begin to stand up and walk to my door. A gentle breeze and sunlight wake me up, the skies are clear and the birds chirp softly. It is a beautiful site to wake up in. Full of excitement, I got out of my bed and went to my balcony.
