CHAPTER 1

The leaves are falling from the trees, a sign that it is the autumn season. I can see our neighbors with their cleaning materials ready to clear the paths of their houses, their gardens, their garages, and the road as well. CHAPTER 2

“You’re early, Avy. It’s still three in the morning.” I exhaled before looking at Havoc who’s playing with his fire sword.   “I have no time to waste. I need to train harder.” I stretched my arms and continued punching and kicking the punching bag.   “I heard your application was already approved. Is it true?” Why are you even curious?   “Very true. That’s why I’m up early to train. I can’t lose there.” I need to aim high.   I heard his footsteps. He’s walking towards me. “When’s your schedule for transferring?” I watched him from my peripheral view; he’s swaying his sword smoothly, drawing a floating fireball or whatever it is.   “Next month. First week. That’s two weeks from now. Ha!” I kicked the punching bag and made a high-turning kick for the next move.   “The mansion wouldn’t be the same without you, Avy

CHAPTER 3

My chest is breathing heavily as I stare at him. Weak. I am no weak. I will never accept a defeat. Suddenly, my hearing becomes so clear, I can hear the sound of the birds, the roaring of the lions, the steps of the tiger, I can even hear the swirling of the wind. Havoc’s expression started to change, his smirk began to fade.   My body heat is increasing every second. I can feel my heartbeat getting stronger. The blue fire began glowing on my hand and my sword suddenly sharpened more.     Words are coming out from my lips and then the next thing I knew, Aunt Louisa’s in front of me, shaking me repeatedly. She is mouthing something I could not understand. Slowly, words began to be clearer and I finally regain myself. Aunt Louisa is still calling my name.   “Avy, Avy! Wake up! Control your power. Use your inner consciousness to wake yourself. Avy!” My vision became clearer. It was when I realiz

CHAPTER 4

Madame Poly led us back to the front door of their home. She went out and got the potions that Aunt Louisa had requested, and she didn't let us see a single one of them.  “Do you understand, Avy, that if you try to look at the potions, you will suffer a horrible consequence?” I, of course, nodded. “We will do as you request, Madame Poly. Thank you very much for these. We shall forward your greetings to Aunt Louisa.” She gave a single nod and smile. “We'll depart right now. Thank you for your kindness.” We did the same, Tristan added as he bent his head. We stood straight again after waiting for Madame Poly's signal. Thankfully, Madame Poly's daughter was not present; I never want to hear her cringing voice again. We wore the cloak Madame Poly had given us. She advised us to wear these if we were heading to Tauru's place. I'm not sure why, but it will be my first time there. Madame Poly has just told us to go see Tauru because he ha

CHAPTER 5

Chapter 5 I stared at Tauru after his greetings. Even the boys gazed at me because Tauru didn’t even greet them. What does he mean by his words? Ble draco kyria? “You’re quite a fancy and brave lady, aren’t you? It feels like just yesterday I was staring at your blue shining eyes and now, you’re already a full grownup.” My eyes widened. “That must be… a long time ago. But I believe we’ve met a few times before during some parties, Tauru.” He smiled. “Of course. However, this is the first time that we’re able to meet again, with only a meter far from each other.”  I just smiled at him, unable to think of what I should respond to. Good thing Havoc is here. “Tauru, we’d like to be straight to business.” Tauru laughed and snapped his fingers. “I almost forgot, anyway, follow me.” I couldn't take my gaze away from him when he finally turned his back. His back is covered in bruises, deep, short, long, and varied marks.
