I yawned as I squeezed some toothpaste on my toothbrush. Despite it being past eight in the morning, I felt exhausted. I blamed that on my brain that didn't want to settle down until two a.m. I kept twisting and turning so much that I didn't notice when I fell asleep. I began to brush my teeth as I looked into the mirror and succumbed to my thoughts. After Andre and I kissed yesterday, my heart seemed to malfunction every time we crossed paths. Things weren't awkward but there was something that I just couldn't put my finger on. When Andre told me that I looked hot in my underwear, I felt more happy than I expected. I felt even more happy when he said that he got turned on by it. I didn't think that anybody would look at me in that state and think that. Everytime I thought of someone seeing me in my female underwear, I imagined disgust and contempt. But Andre proved me wrong. I was surprised when he said that he was gay. He looked like the type that was popular with women so, findin

"Rise and shine," Flynn said as he gently shook me by the shoulder. I groaned in protest and he chuckled. "You said that you wanted to be home by noon and it's almost ten right now." Turning to my back, I looked at my friend, who was smiling at me softly while a rob covered his naked body. "My head hurts," I said and cleared my throat to reduce the dryness. "Of course, it does. You were so drunk." He got a bottle of water from the nightstand and handed it to me. "Drink up. It's been a while since I've seen you get so carried away. It brings back memories." I laughed and sat up before receiving the water. "Sure does." Flynn and I went out yesterday and it was amazing. It's been a while since I laid loose like that and I had no regrets but for the drumbeat in my skull. We had lunch and took a relaxing walk before hyping ourselves up at a club. The music was loud and we met plenty of fun people. After we were done, we came back to Flynn's apartment and I went straight to bed while h

I turned on my bed and sighed as I looked at the wooden ceiling above me. Putting my phone aside, I stretched my arms and gave up on trying to relax. In my opinion, I had relaxed too much.  I was home alone today and my mother insisted that I shouldn't step a foot at school. I scoffed. I wasn't planning on doing that anyway because my teacher would have told me the exact same thing. It had been a week since I started staying home and the more days that passed, the more exhausted I felt. Why couldn't people just let me have my fun? It would've been better if I was at school. I loved reading and learning and building. But they kept reminding me to let loose and go crazy. I had my hobbies and I spent plenty of time with my friends so, what fun did they want me to have? Going crazy was too reckless and reckless was something that I tried to avoid. Well, that was until Andre came along. Every time his body came close to mine, I

I looked at the things that were spread on my bed. In preparation for today, I had prepared swim trunks, sunscreen, a pair of glasses, an umbrella, a towel and my phone. I nodded in approval, seeing that nothing needed to be added, and began to pack them up slowly. I wasn't a fan of the beach. The people, the sand and annoying children. Ryan and Louis were waiting downstairs and despite being aware that I was taking my time, I low-key wanted them to change their mind and choose to hang out home instead. Since I was usually being urged to rest up and let loose, a beach day didn't sound so bad. It also was a fun way to cool off so, I kept giving myself reasons on why this was a pretty good and beneficial arrangement. My train of thought was disturbed by a knock on the door and I looked at it. "If you're sleeping, I'll kill you," Louis threatened on the other side. "I'm not," I answered and zipped my bag closed. "Is it too late to back out?" "Yes. It's been passed ten minutes and

"Are you still angry at me?" Flynn asked with a whine. "I said sorry a thousand times already!" I proceeded to ignore him as I enjoyed my lunch in the cafeteria. Maryanne watched from across of the table and shook her head in sympathy. She gave up on trying to intervene on behalf of him a few minutes ago. Today was pretty hot and I felt that the cafeteria was the coolest part of the entire building. It was quite packed by the other workers as they enjoyed their lunches as well while I wanted to show Flynn that I still didn't appreciate the gift that he gave to my "admirer". Flynn pouted. "Listen, I'm sorry. If it got you in so much trouble, I'll do anything to make it up to you." I sighed and sipped my coca cola before looking at my phone to see how long he's been apologizing for. I hummed in thought and continued to eat my fries and chicken. Five more minutes to go to make it twenty-five minutes of apologizing. I hoped that he

I sighed and chewed the tip of my pencil as I stared at the math question in front of me. Today, the universe decided to be merciful by letting clouds fill the sky and ease the heat.  A plate, that had popsicle sticks on it, rested at the center of the rectangular table and a cold breeze blew in our direction from the open windows across from us. Louis and I were seated in the library as we studied together. It was peaceful, with only the light scratching sounds of our pencils, as we scribbled down numbers, to be heard. My mind was busy. Not only with calculations but with thoughts of Andre as well. We didn't have a proper conversation after our talk in the kitchen and I couldn't blame him. After everything that I had said, he was obviously angry at me. Being around him was awkward and we barely talked this entire week. I tried to convince myself that it was for the best, but the ache in my chest was becoming hard to ignore. I want

"Andre," Mr. Davison called as he approached me. I looked up at him. A frown was set in his features as he walked towards me with heavy steps. "Yes, sir?" "You've made many mistakes in this file," he said, his tone filled with disapproval as he handed a black file to me. "Most of them have to do with spellings."  I took the file and began to skim through it. "I wouldn't make such a petty mistake, sir," I said in confusion, not seeing the mistakes that he was talking about. He sighed and took me to a particular page. "This page and the others after it are horribly done. Firstly, this is not the case that I told you to research on. Secondly, you got the names and spellings wrong." My eyes widened in surprise as I noticed what he was talking about and I internally scolded myself for letting my mind wander off during work. "I'm sorry. I'll start working on it right away." "Please do so. Your work is always good. What ha

We stared at each other for a while and I pulled my hand away from him. Was he serious? Did I hear him right? The room was quiet as we kept eye contact. I knew that Mrs. Young was already in her room and I was glad that it was far from ours. It almost seemed like we were alone in the house and I smiled at this wonderful turn of events. I didn't expect him to admit it so straightforwardly. He looked nervous but didn't look away. I had so many thoughts in my head but I focused on the beautiful young man in front of me. "I like you too, Henry," I said honestly and watched as his eyes lit up with relief. He stood up from the bed and asked, "Can we start over?" "You're not going to back down again, are you?" "I don't know. I'm filled with so many confusing feelings right now." "Then what do you want from me?" He stared at me for a while. "I want to be yours, Andre." I leaned in and softly pressed my lips against his. Henry held my arms as he returned the kiss and we departed, only

I pressed the start button and watched as my clothes rolled around in the washing machine. It was a warm Saturday morning and despite my mom's protests, I didn't want her help. She always insisted on doing my laundry for me but I told her that I wanted to start doing it myself. Maybe she didn't trust me and thought that I'd make a mistake. That woman treated me like a child. To be honest, I didn't mind her doing it but ever since Andre and I officially got together, we spent so much time with each other that I felt like his scent got on me. Call me paranoid but I didn't want her to notice it.  I liked being with Andre and for the first time in my life, I felt close with someone outside my friend group. Louis said that whether we lasted or not was up to us and I wanted us to last. Even if it was just for the period of him being here. My parents would obviously be against our relationship that's why I was doing all that I could to av

"So I followed her and asked if she'd like to go out sometime and she said yes!" Ryan explained excitedly. "You really hit the jackpot on this one, dude. I'm impressed," Louis commented with a chuckle and Ryan nodded enthusiastically. "I know, right? I was worried that she might reject me." I laughed. "Aren't there more important things to worry about though?" "You don't understand love, Henry. I've been eyeing her since last month," he argued. "And rejection, especially from someone you like, is damn scary." "Okay, okay. Go crazy, bro." I looked at Louis. "How are things with Wendy?" He shrugged nonchalantly. "I'm over it." My eyes went wide. "Why? You were doing well and now you're done?" "Liking someone fades sometimes." "Breaking hearts left and right like the dick that you are," Ryan complained with a light shake of his head. "I wonder why the girls always go for you." "It's because I
