The Creep

Blake tensed and I could literally feel the heat rising on his body. Placing my hand on his arm I knew I needed to move quickly before there was a very large scene. “Blake, can I talk to you for a moment, please?” “In a minute,” he said through gritted teeth not letting his eyes off Curtis. Curtis was putting it all quickly together and knew this wasn’t a good situation for him as he seemed to be squirming like the worm he was. Susan and everyone else looked completely baffled by what was happening. I shouldn’t of let the words slip out of my mouth of who Curtis was and the truth was I’d never told Blake the entire story of the subway anyways. I also knew quickly in my mind I did not want to start out meeting his siblings this way. I squeezed my arm so tightly I could feel my nails digging in a tad which at least got Blake to look at me for a minute. “Blake I need to talk to you now,” insisting and pulling his arm away from the table. I had to give a fi

Ride Home

We exchanged goodbyes and I was glad to see Blake keeping his exposure after the heated debate and I was trying to get him away before saying more to Curtis. I had to give it to Blake his siblings were so kind and polite. It was all so elegant and from what Mel said they made a lot of money to help a lot of families with adoption which warmed my heart. I even made a mental note to make my donation. Right as we were getting ready to leave Blake turned around, “Curtis.” Oh no. Curtis approached very carefully as if he was walking up to an angry tiger which he was. Blake put his hand out to shake his hand. “Curtis, keep being kind to my sister and I hope that you know I am watching to make sure that you are.” I could see the tension in the handshake and I had a pretty good guess that Blake was squeezing much harder than your typical handshake. “Curtis, also know there are a lot of things that will be coming together real soon and I hope you are ready for when they do.” Curtis only nodded

Next Morning

I woke up to my phone ringing and realized by the time I was more tired than even I knew as it was already 11:00 AM. I was still in a slumber with Rosco snuggling deeper into my leg begging me to not wake up. I was pretty sure we both needed sleep after our very intense week. I didn’t even look before answering I was too dreary. “Hello,” half asleep. “Kate! What’s wrong with you? Are you okay?” It was Blake in a panicked voice. “What, no, I’m fine just sleeping. Why is there something wrong?” I started to wake up. Big Sigh. “Kate, I thought there was something wrong with you because you hadn’t responded. I’ve been texting you and calling you twice.” I glanced at my phone and saw three missed calls, two from Blake and one from a number I didn’t recognize. Then realized there were 10 new messages. “I’m sorry I guess I just crashed been a bit of a crazy week.” I could tell he was calming down

The Club Kate's POV

The club was loud, crazy, and decorated in subway décor with brick walls. The music was blaring from a fairly decent DJ playing all sorts of music mixed up to his pleasure. The bar itself was lighted making it easy for the eye to locate in the chaos and there were also stairs making way to a balcony with tables and chairs and another bar on top for access to drinks. It was a bit younger crowd than I was used to but with Laura, it was always a good time as she was a social butterfly that made you want to embrace your wilder side. Luckily for the inside track as the line was around the block to get in but with Laura’s friend, we got right in and made our way quickly to the bar. I wasn’t a lightweight by any means but I also made a mental note to pay close attention to things such as who was where and how many drinks we had. There was one time when I was with Laura that I let her carry me away and we ended up having to beg our neighbors Mike and Chris to come to save us.

The Club Blake's POV

We took the helicopter back so I could get there quicker Chicago. I was going to find that woman if it was the last thing I did that night. I couldn’t explain how much I wanted to be with her and keep her safe which was such a different feeling for me I couldn’t seem to keep my mind off her as it was at the meeting. I had planned on taking a flight back in the morning but as soon as Kate wouldn’t tell me where she was I had Russ schedule me for the helicopter. It was the quickest way to get to her and according to what I figured I would be back in about 2 hours at the most that were at the beginning of the night though when I was just trying to figure out where she was and what she was doing, now almost at the end of the flight I was anxious to figure it out. I didn’t know Kate’s neighbor Laura but guessed she was the girl I’d passed in the hallway the other day when I first visited Kate at her apartment and Laura seemed a bit rough around the edges. I didn’t want Kate d

The Hangover

My head was pounding, my eyes felt like they were bleeding, and my whole body ached. Yep, I had a hangover. I started retracing my steps not wanting to open my eyes just yet. I replayed the night going to the club with Laura, buying drinks, taking a shot, then another, and oh lord way too many shots. Texting Blake, antagonizing Blake really if I was being honest with myself and hoping in the bag of my mind I could somehow produce a Blake in real life. Wait, I did produce a Blake, he had shown up, kissed on the dance floor, kissing in the rain….ooh that kiss in the rain made my whole body twitch thinking about it that was some kiss. Okay getting in the car, wait Blake’s car, trying way too hard to get somewhere with Blake, oh lord in front of some driver, awkward. Blake pulled me on his lap and I fell asleep. That’s it that’s all I got. I slowly put my left hand out and started becoming more aware of being in my bed I could feel my sheets and feel the lump at the bottom

Shower

I hoped the Aspirin was going to take effect quickly as I slipped into the sparkling hot water. I let it flow down my face and body which ached from too much drinking. I really should have known better but I’d let the release and relaxation of drinking get me carried away. I let the water pour down my face as I started shampooing my hair and really could hardly believe that Blake Sutton was hanging out in my tiny apartment. I started wondering what his place must look like compared to mine and guessed it was much different but I was surprised that even though he complained about my safety he was fine being here with me. I knew that compared to his typical life my apartment looked like nothing. I rinsed my hair and put conditioner detangling my hair as I went. It is what I get for standing in the rain the night before and falling into bed as I was told. As I rinsed my hair I thought I might have heard the bathroom door open but still kept my eyes closed as I didn’t want to get condi

Breakfast

Blake made a yummy cheese omelet with toast on the side for me and gave me a diet coke with a very disappointed face. I eagerly accepted despite the face because my stomach needed something besides being empty at that moment as I tried to recover. “I was hoping you drank something else besides diet coke.” “I do drink water on occasion,” laughing. “I’d like maybe to see that happen.” He sat beside me on my bed. “Stick around this time and you just may” I nudged him and chuckled. Blake’s face turned dark and sad so quickly that I wasn’t expecting it. I put my hand on his arm, “I was joking you know.” “Kate you will know how much I regret leaving that day and not calling you back. I could have done so many things differently that day and I didn’t. I was stupid, immature, and could have just told you what was happening.” I squeezed his arm trying to let him know it was okay. “I should have done so much different and truthfully

Family

“Kate dear! Kate dear! Can you hear me? It’s Mrs. Flora!” “Kate someone is hollering at you from your window,” Blake states as he nudges me awake. I was enjoying my cuddles and morning slumber and drudgingly woke myself up. “Kate dear are you in there?” Mrs. Flora yelled this time. “She’s in here!” Blake responded for me. “Yes, Mrs. Flora I am here!” “Oh good Kate dear, perhaps your friend and you would like to come outside to our garden and introduce us? Please Kate dear and we have a wonderful vegetable salad to enjoy as well!” I glanced over at Blake who just shrugged and left the decision up to me. I’d ignored my apartment family this week and knew I need to make some time for them. Plus I think I would like their opinions on Blake. “Yes, we will be down in a few!” “Oh, wonderful!” I could hear Mrs. Flora lightly clapping as she did when she liked what she heard and

The Pick Up

I woke up at 5:30 am and contemplated my day and what exactly it would look like with Blake as my CEO. I allowed myself the extra time this morning since I had given myself way too much time to sleep crashing after Blake left. Although I’d wanted to have sexual escapades all night I realized, in the end, it was a wise decision he had made to leave me to rest. I hadn’t had a very active sex life really in the last couple of years as I was sick of boyfriends saying I put work before them or I wasn’t emotionally involved. I had some issues to work through and maybe Blake wanting to wait wasn’t a bad idea until I was fulling in because since the loss of my parents I may not have let anyone in and then the incident with Blake made me feel a little less trust for anyone I’d been with because they might just disappear in the morning. I now know what happened but could I trust Blake? I had some questions I still needed to be answered but the more pressing thing at the moment was figuring out h
