Chapter Thirty-One

It had been raining now, for three days straight.  Azura had not awaken yet, but Ty slept with her every night.  She was placed in her room and James visited her everyday to check the stones.  Still a faint blue the stones remained.  She had healed herself on the first night, but Regina suggested that it must have taken a grand amount of energy to bring the land back to life and so she might just need extra rest.  Ty tried to keep himself busy by going out with the Hunters or taking care of pack business, but when he laid down with her at night, he could hear her steady heartbeat and serene breathing.  It calmed him somewhat to think his mother was most likely correct and Azura was just resting, but

Chapter Thirty-Two

“Regina, what sort of powers did my parents have?” Azura asked her while lounging on the couch in her office.  Regina looked up from a short stack of papers she had now spread across her desk and glanced at Azura’s growing belly.  She smiled sincerely and said, “Well, your mother was able to heal anything dying, while your father carried immense strength.  The force of his blows were ten times an Alpha wolf.  I also caught him a few times lifting giant logs as a workout,” she chuckled at the memory, “The first time I stumbled upon him, he nearly dropped it on himself.”  Azura smiled at the thought.  She looked to the shelf that had a newly added picture to it

Chapter Thirty-Three

It was a morning like any other.  Regina was having her morning run when something repulsive invaded her nostrils.  “Yuck,” Regina said out loud as she looked around her to see where the smell was coming from.  She assumed it was a dead animal or skunk and headed back to the house for a bath.  She turned on the furnace and got the water going, when again she smelled the horrific scent again.  “Ugh!” she shouted as she saw the tub filled with dirty green water.  She got dressed and headed to the lake.  When she arrived, she saw dead fish floating in the water and a bunch of blackened green algae covering the surface.

Chapter Thirty-Four

Azura laid on her soft bed alone when her eyes slowly opened.  She rolled to her side only to find her mate missing.  She peered around the room still dark and assumed that he had already left for his pack duties.  She recalled last nights events and her cheeks blushed.  It seemed ever since she has been with child, her hormones were uncontrollably raging all the time.  She sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes.  She caught the scent of what she could only describe as burning fire and ash.  She looked towards the window and noticed what looked like black clouds floating across it.  She jumped out of bed and ra

Chapter Thirty-Five

The next morning, Azura felt like going for a walk.  She had been very sedentary lately and felt almost claustrophobic being in the house all day.  It was still very early and Ty had not yet left for pack duties.  Azura looked over to his naked body and wrapped her arm around his bare chest.  She planted a few kisses on his cheek when he stirred slightly, “hmm..my love…you’re ready for round four already?”  He spoke with out opening his eyes which made Azura giggle.  “No silly, I was going to ask if you wanted to on a walk with me this morning,” she whispered into his ear.  “Hmm…you should stay off your

Chapter Thirty-Six

“That harvest was supposed to be our reserve for winter.  What are we suppose to do for food now?” Eric shouted from his seat.  “Winter is approaching and food will be scarce.  It’s too late to plant anything now, it won’t grow!” an older male stated as he sat sternly with his hands folded.  “Zachary…Eric, we understand your concerns.  We are actively seeking a form of sustenance during the winter now.  The fishermen are getting the stock from the river while the hunters have set up traps in the forest.  Don’t worry, there will be enough to last thru win…” Ty began, but was interrupted

Chapter Thirty-Seven

“Please!  I didn’t do anything!” Logan yelled from the jail cell.  “Let me out!” he had been at it for hours.  The door to the hall way opens and Regina walks in.  “You should be thankful Ty didn’t rip your throat out,” she says as she holds her head high.  “You put this pack at a great risk.  Poisoning our water supply and destroying the harvest before winter.  If it weren’t for Azura’s idea of foraging, we surely would’ve starved,” she continues as Logan wails.  “But I didn’t do anything!” he yells.

Chapter Thirty-Eight

“Ouch!” Azura suddenly woke to her growing baby kicking away at her sides.  She grasped her belly and rubbed her hands around it lovingly.  It was nearly morning as she looked around the dimly lit room.  Ty was gone, no doubt doing his early rounds, so Azura decided to get her day started.  She got out of bed and walked over to the balcony.  She opened the curtains and a very big smile formed on her face.  Snow had filled the entire field behind the house and the lake looked frozen over.  “Wow!” She exclaimed and jetted for the bathroom to get ready.  Winter was always harsh on her

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Azura woke to the ruffling of paper.  She jerked up, sitting up in bed and looked from side to side at the cluttered floor.  “TK?” Azura called.  No answer.  She whipped the sheets away and stepped onto the floor, tiptoeing around the toys and clothing strewn about the carpet.  She heard more ruffling of paper coming from the open door of the room.  She walked out into the hallway and followed the noise to Ty’s old room.  Ty had decided to move into Azura’s room since she enjoyed the view of the lake so much and Ty’s old room had been converted to TK’s nursery and eventually his room, although he had yet to actually s

Chapter Forty

The pack was busy with preparations for the night’s festival.  Ty and Azura had spent the day giving a personal tour to the new guests.  “Wow, you all are set.  I guess you don’t really need our nuts or berries,” Sly said as he rubbed the back of his neck.  Azura shook her head, “Non-sense.  It takes a great deal of work to forage and even on several occasions we have come back empty handed.  Your haul would help us a great deal.  Besides, there are other things we can barter, say for instance your alliance.”  Sly looked to Azura a bit puzzled, “As in?”
