I tried getting up and pushing off of Slate but he wouldn't let me go.   "Minerva stop.  He doesn't mean us harm.  I feel some way connected to his wolf."  I continued to struggle when Xavier spoke. "Minerva stop. I have something from your mother that will explain a lot of what is happening."I stopped struggling and just looked at him. I didn't know what to say or do. My mother died having me and 26 years later he claims to have answers."I know it's been a long time and I know you're trying to gather why I waited. We had an understanding that I would not reveal any of this until you called asking for us to help you. It would be then that I show you the letter and give you the gift to understand better on why your father and her were mates." I looked at him. I was speechless. Henry spoke up instead, "Xavier, why would they ask you to hold onto something like this?"  

It wasn't a soft landing when I fell through the book.  I sat up quickly trying to gather what happened. Looking around it was a beautiful meadow with wild flowers lining the tree line.  Not to far from me was a spring fed pond lined with rocks and a lone tree. I approached the tree when I see on the other side a bench with a woman sitting on it. I approached slowly on guard of who it could be. When I made it to the edge of the bench, slowly the woman turned towards me with a bright smile. "Minerva my dear child. How you have grown." "Mmm... mmm... mom?" I asked. "Yes my daughter. Come sit and lets talk about everything." I finished approaching her and sat down. She grabbed me hand and held it while smiling. I didn't know I was crying until I felt her wipe my cheeks. "I'm sorry my child. I wish I could have been with you everyday but unfortunately the prophecy wouldn't have it. I couldn't wait for this

Slate's POV----  I looked back down the stairs searching for the woman who smelled like cedar and honeysuckle.  "We have to keep our distance for awhile until we can get them alone to explain to them what is happening," Minerva whispered beside me.  I glanced at her to see a smile plastered on her face but eyes searching for her mate. I took another look across the bottom floor when I caught the eye of a beautiful human. She had blonde hair and piercing green eyes. She had a simple lavender dress that hugged all of her curves just right. "Mate," said Erebus.  I bumped Minerva and nodded towards the woman when she tightened her grip on my arm. I followed her eyes to the man standing beside my mate. Twins. He to had blonde hair and green eyes. Both human.  Why would she pair us with humans? I wondered as we made it to the bottom floor. "Now that we are back and it seems that everyone is finished with dinner, lets move to the ballroom for the night of your lives." I got Slate's attention as Jason and I headed towards the exit to the stairs.  He grabbed Kate and caught us quickly.  None of us said a word until we got to the landing of the Alpha floor.
