The next few days blew by in a flurry of activity for me. Every night at The Galley was so busy but working at the bar turned out to be unexpectedly wonderful. I was really enjoying myself, so much so, it hardly even felt like work at all, and the hours flew by. It had taken a little while, but I had managed to charm the locals, and the tourists that came through could be a bit overwhelming at times, but I enjoyed the challenge. George, Sam and I fell into our own routine, I took care of the tables, Sam handled the bar, and George manned the kitchen. When things were slow enough, I spent time behind the bar learning how to mix drinks from Sam. Due to the late hour we got home, I found myself learning to love sleeping in. I’d never been able to sleep as long as I needed, only as long as I was allowed, now I was sleeping in as long as I pleased, waking at some point in the late morning I’d wander about looking for Elle.
