Chapter 31. Distracted

As Damien started the car once again, I could still feel his lips on my lips and I relived the kiss in my head again and again. It had been our second kiss but it had felt more like our first one. It felt like I had been a different girl when Damien had kissed me last time. And now.. now It felt like we had started all over again.I looked over at him and he was concentrating on the road. I suddenly realized that I didn’t know where we were heading.“Where are we going?” I asked him.He gave me a wicked look, “I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty hungry.”Oh, I thought and licked my upper lip.“I’m hungry too,” I said slowly, not sure if he was even talking about food.“What would you like to eat?” He looked at his watch, “I think we could get takeaway at this hour and eat it in the car.”I nodded, why hadn’t he suggested going back to h

Chapter 32. Kiss and Tell

“Don’t worry, just call her now,” Damien tried to calm me down when he saw the panic on my face.I took a deep breath and called Mari. She picked up on the second ring, “Where are you Seline?” I could hear the panic in her voice.“I am so so sorry, things happened and I had my phone on silent. Are you okay? Is Baron okay?” “Yes, yes I’m okay, he says he’s okay but Seline, it’s bad. They did a number on him.” Her voice is pained.“Oh God, I’m so sorry Mari, did you take him to the hospital? Did you call the police?”“He refused to go to both, he says his parents shouldn’t find out or there’ll be hell to pay.” Mari said, “We’re at my place right now and together we’ve dealt with the worse of it.”“It sounds really bad; I can’t believe something like this could happen to him.”

Chapter 33. Bad Dream

“Both of you are staying over,” Mari announced as Baron came out of the bathroom, partly because she just liked to announce things overdramatically but mostly because she wanted to cover the awkward silence. Baron already didn’t like Damien, if he found out anymore; he would go berserk I was sure. But I wasn’t sure I liked this overbearing behavior but I put up with it because Baron really cared about me. He had once told me about his rough childhood even though he had grown up super rich. His father had been very abusive with him. He said that he had hardly made any close friends all his life, which was why he was so protective of both of us.“I am so tired of both of you getting into some kind of trouble on the streets, I mean your foot had barely healed from being almost crushed by a car when he goes and gets himself robbed and beaten up.” Mari complained. I rolled my eyes, Mari was nothing if not a drama queen and she was in her element

Chapter 34. Lacy

I woke up to Mari’s leg across my stomach and a sense of disorientation. I threw her leg off of me and realized I’d had one of the most restless nights of my life. This was the first time in my entire life that I’d had a bad night at Mari’s place.Oh I sat up in bed with a start as I remembered what had happened last night. I shivered as I thought about the dream which I was so sure had been a reality. But that was impossible right? No one could get into the mansion let alone Mari’s bedroom. Security and guards littered the whole place.Maybe it had been the day; maybe I was more affected by what had happened to Baron than I had thought.I stretched stiff muscles as I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and remembered what Damien had said about today and suddenly I was super excited about the day.Mari had woken up when I came out but I didn’t talk to her and just waved as I went down to brea

Chapter 35. Wet

I looked out at the gathering clouds as I waited for Damien to arrive. It looked like it could rain soon and I wasn’t mad about it. I really loved the rain..  I was nervous about other things, this dressed up and waiting was driving me crazy.I wasn’t the type of person to get nervous over dates, not that I had had many but this was the first time I had done something like this. Prepare, get dressed and then sit and wait.I had always been like this, always excited to get ready and then then when I had to wait for something, I turned into an impatient pain in the ass. I was bothering Mari now whose room I was sitting in while she watched a tv series. I felt a little sick with tension and right now, all I wanted to do was take off everything and get into bed.Thankfully Baron had left after lunch to deal with the aftermath of his situation. I wondered if he would get his car back. Focusing on his problems made the butterflies a little bit better

Chapter 36. Baby

We stood there facing each other for a minute and just when I thought Damien was going to kiss me, he moved away from me, “Cmon,” he said and laced the fingers of his hand with mine and lead me through the rain. The atmosphere inside the car was electric; the rain falling on the rooftop lent an intimacy to us, as if we were both alone cocooned in our own personal bubble. The rain had soaked both of us, my dress was stuck to my body, molded to me and I was sure it had become a little see through. I looked into Damien’s stormy eyes, “Your eyes are like a thunderstorm” I said a little unsteadily and shivered. Damien reached over and tugging on my hand and he had me in his arms.“Seline, what are you doing to me?” Damien whispered and I felt his breath on my lips as he took them. He slanted his mouth on mine, his mouth possessing mine. He fed one of his hands into my wet hair and tugged my head back for better access and I was lost

Chapter 37. Good Morning

The sunlight was bright as I woke up but I didn’t wake up because of the sunlight, I woke up because of Damien. I’d woken up to the smell of him, the look of him and the feel of him around me. I didn’t wake up disoriented; I didn’t wake up thinking I was in a foreign place, I woke up completely at peace and happy. I sat up on one elbow and looked at sleeping Damien beside me and remembered each touch, each kiss, and each moment. Everything was etched in my mind and I knew whatever happened in the future, I would remember it forever as one of the best nights of my life.I fell back on my side and just stared at the beautiful man sleeping so peacefully beside me, his dark hair falling on top of his forehead. I reached out and gently caressed them back thinking how much younger he looked in his sleep. What would he do if he woke up now? Would he look at me the same way I was looking at him? Would he wake me up and kiss me? I remembered his passiona

Chapter 38. Extra Sweet

He had given me a hickey?!I touched the place where a bruise marred my smooth skin. How had I not noticed this until now? I wondered and blushed as I remembered why I hadn’t been aware of anything..I had been too absorbed in Damien and what he made me feel.I smacked Damien on the arm wiping the self-satisfied grin from his face.“Ow,” he rubbed his arm, “what was that for?” he asked me but I could see from his expression he knew why I had hit him. “You know why,” I sat up trying to think what I could wear to hide it. I wondered if it would have faded away by Monday. I had college the next day. Shit. “Real mature Damien..” I muttered frowning at him.He just took my hand, tugged and toppled me into his arms. I laughed as he planted kisses all over my face.“Sorry, it was too tempting to resist,” he apologized without a hit of regret on his face.

Chapter 39. Strange Behavior

There was a devil on one shoulder and an angel on my other shoulder because my thoughts were conflicted as hell. On the one hand I wanted him to be joking and on the other hand I wanted to strip off this shirt and call him up on his challenge. It was maddening. I stared up at him from beneath my lashes trying to guess if he was serious. He was waiting too for what I would do, call his bluff or brush it off? My phone rang in the middle of our silent war and the spell was broken. I took a shuddery breath and moved to pick it up while Damien took his coffee to the breakfast table. It was Mari. “Rise and shine Babe,” she chimed as I picked up the phone. “Good morning to you too,” I laughed as I turned to make my own coffee, light and sweet. “I don’t know about my morning but I’m sure yours was pretty good..” I could hear the curiosity in her voice. I laughed and Damien looked up, “Well have I guessed correctly?” she asked m

Chapter 40. Secret

I felt a frisson of alarm move through me at his words, what did he mean? What was he hiding from me?I should have known. I should have known. He was just too good to be true. My instincts had told me before he could tell me.I wondered what he was hiding and how big an impact it would have on me.I stared at his face, unable to comprehend what he was saying or what I should do now.And why now? What was the relevance of this moment.Did it have anything to do with my friends coming over? Why?I was silent for a minute, trying to get my disjointed thoughts to form a single sentence that would make sense. Damien waited patiently as if he had all the time in the world.“Are you hiding something from me?” I asked finally, scared of his answer. He took one of my hands in his, “It’s not as serious as you think but this secret will require your trust in me, in us. Which is why I’m asking y
