With the Knights distracted with clean-up duty and tending to the wounded, Lynnette took this time to speak with Vaughan. “You've hit your head.” She said with a frown.“What?” Vaughan asked, raising an eyebrow at her. “I am not hurt at all.”“No, I mean you have knocked your head so hard, that you've lost any sense,” Lynnette said, her tone serious.Fenryn chimed in with a gentle, “sarcasm goes over his head. The King's study was almost as grand as the rest of the castle but felt much homier than the other areas Lynnette had seen. There was a large sitting area against one of the walls; which held several cushions to soften one's sitting experience. The far side of the room held a large desk with a grand chair, and piles of paperwork. What really set the feel of being at home; was a large, single painting of what was obviously Fenryn as a child with his family.Fenryn sat down at the desk and took a parchment from the top of the pile. He then took a quill and ink container from a draw and placed it all in front of himself. He seemed rather fed up already but resigned to his job under the watchful gaze of Vaughan.“This one needs your approval before the reconstruction can begin on the west side of the city,” Vaughan said as he pointed at one part of the scroll. “Read it over, and make sure the details are to your liking, then sign here.” Once Vaughan

Days turned to weeks, which in turn turned to months. Lynnette had not yet been Knighted, for obvious reasons, but she had gone through many hours of intensive training. She had to learn how to act when addressing nobility, and of course, royalty, seeing as she was going to work closely with Fenryn as his personal guard other than Vaughan. Then there was learning to dance, though she secretly enjoyed those lessons, despite how hard they were. Once Vaughan was pleased with her progress, he finally started to train her personally in regards to combat.Most of the training, however, was done alone. Vaughan was rather particular about that. Lynnette could only guess that he wanted to give her enough knowledge of how the Knights would fight against her, and as much of a chance to beat them at their own game, should she be forced to fight any of them.
