I sit up and begin fixing my dress. I don’t bother retying the laces, but I lay the fabric in its correct place. Taran comes in with two glasses of water. I gladly accept the one he offers me and down it. My legs shake as I stand. Placing my glass on the nightstand, I turn towards the wardrobe where I put my clothes. Just as I reach for the door, I hear Taran’s low voice, “Where are you going, little dove?” I pause and take a moment to get the smile off my face. Turning back towards Taran, I say, “I’m sorry, your grace, I just needed to move around.” “Why did you cover yourself, little dove?” “I-I thought we finished.” Grabbing the back of my hair, Taran forces me to look at him.
