Chapter 31 - Bare Moira burst into my room carrying a large pile of cloth that seemed to be in every color and style. Her face wash flushed as if she had been sprinting through the castle, as she struggled under the weight of the fabric in her arms. “We have four hours to get you ready for dinner. Chapter 33 - Run A loud bang erupted through the dining room, and the eye contact between the king and I was broken as we turned to see that Devin had slammed his fists into the table. Dark red wine spilled over the bare wood as the glass chalices toppled over. One rolled to the end of the table, smashing to ground, sending crystal shards spraying in all directions against the gold flecked marble floor. “I AM NOT A WOLF!” Devin snarled, and kicked his chair away from him, sending it flying back into one of the awaiting guards who managed to catch it with a loud grunt. He lifted his arm to point a shaking finger towards me, his blue and brown eyes flashing in anger. “She, is not my mate. Chapter 35 - Wolf Everything moved in slow motion as Keagan began to open his eyes. Simon slammed the brakes on the car, swerving us to the right of the highway, and coming to a dead stop on the side of the road. The sudden deceleration causing me to jerk backwards into the car seat, as the tires screeched across the slick blacktop.Moira’s door flew open and she jumped from the car, moving herself as far from the wolf as possible, as Simon ripped himself out from the driver’s seat. Chapter 37 – Gas Station The drive went by quickly as Moira and Keagan caught up on their separated lives. We laughed as Keagan told us about the first time he shifted when he was fourteen, describing how he had woken up with his room torn to shreds, and tufts of blond fur strewn across his floor. Keagan told Moira about the times her mother had come to visit him, and how she used whatever power she had to protect him as he learned to control his wolf throughout his early teens. He said that Ginger had studied all she could on werewolves to try and help him, and while he knew the basics because of her, he still had no idea what it was like to be in a pack, and had never actually met another werewolf besides his mother who had died long before he even knew what he was.
