It was Friday, Emma Jean had gone into the main office to speak with her daddy. The receptionist looked up from answering the phone and gave her a smile. Emma Jean gave her a polite one back before motioning her head towards his office. The lady nodded her head and went back to the call that was in progress. Emma Jean knocked on his door and walked in when she heard his gruff voice. He was behind his desk on a call. She could only hear snippets of the call. “Sweetheart…. Yeah… then why not…. But my dear…. I have to go. Emma Jean is here. Yes dear… I know dear…. Got to go dear… yes… bye.” He finally managed to end the call. Everyone was excited about the drinking party after work. Time couldn't go by fast enough to the park closing. The patrons could feel a strange air around them but didn't know what it was. The workers were in better moods than their usual muted happiness. Their smiles were much bigger. Dallas left the park to go home and play bridge with his wife and their friends. When the park closed Emma Jean had headed to the locker room first and made a call for several shuttles. It was important for her that everyone had fun but was safe getting home. Once the shuttles arrived in the parking lot, she had a wicker basket in hand. Her coworkers rushed out the doors, yelling, screaming in delight, and playfully pushing each other around. “We’ll be taking these shuttles so everyone put your keys in here and when you’re ready to go home they will drive you there.” One employee groaned in protest but the others did as they were told. “Our little princess is gonna be the best

The bar started to thin out, more and more of their coworkers were leaving to go home in the shuttles. Soon there were only a hand full of people left, including Kieran, Kenji, Emma Jean. The three of them ended at a table with two other people. The conversation was boisterous. They were all around the same age group. Kenji had a girl hanging on to his arm. She leaned her head against his shoulder while making doe eyes at him. Kieran mocked the girl by leaning on Emma Jean mimicking her movements. “Knock it off. That’s not very nice. Let her make a love connection if she wants to.” She whispered harshly in his ear. He spoke louder than intended, “Any fool can see he has eyes for you.” Kenji was taking a drink of his beer when he heard that. His eyes widen at the sudden implication. He spit out his beer all over the table, choking in the process. The girl patted his back while glaring at Kieran. Emma’s mouth was dropped wide open. “What?! It’s true. I

Her daddy wanted her to come and sit in on the meeting this time. It felt like a chance of a lifetime to finally sit in on and important meeting. She was practically bouncing as she walked inside, greeting the secretary as she passed by. The meeting room was just down the hall, suddenly a wave of nervousness hit her. She leaned against the wall taking deep breaths to calm herself down. Dallas and other members of the board were already in the room when she walked in. He pointed to an empty seat next to him, which she went to. “Now, let’s begin the meeting. First you all know Emma Jean. Emma Jean reached the front of the long table with a forced smile on her face. She sighed before speaking..“This was not the way I wanted to take over the company.” Her voice cracked in the middle of her speech. Tears welled in her eyes. “But daddy fought for two years against cancer so we all should be … we all should rejoice that he died happy and surrounded by everyone he loves.”The all nodded in agreement. I have a surprise for you so get your little tushy out of that seat and let me drive you home.”She didn’t even look up when she responded to him, “I have a mountain of work to get through I can’t at the moment.”“Hmm so you say.” Kieran entered the office, walking over to her desk. The papers in her hand were placed on her desk. He grabbed both of her hands pulling her up to him. She pressed a hand against his chest to push him away. “EJ, you need to go home. I won’t take no for an answer. Besides, I know you’ll like what I have set up for you.”She sighed, giving in to his demand. “Alright, alright. You should let a person grieve the way they want to you know.”“That maybe the case but you either hole yourself up in your house alone ignoring the world or whatever else I don’t know. I’m trying to be there for you Little Miss Emma Je

It was noon by the time the two of them were settled in with their drinks and pizza. Kieran had poured her a cup of White peach and Rosemary vodka, no ice. It was a new flavor of grey goose and he knew she would want to try it. Kieran handed her the cup waiting for her reaction to the new flavor. His eyes stared at her intensely as he took a gulp of his Jack Daniel’s whiskey. It was Tennessee Fire his favorite one. A hint of spiciness but went down smooth. He held his cup at his lips as she took her first drink. The way her eyes looked awe-struck then closed in appreciation. She looked to him as beautiful as she did when they first met at a frat party. Emma Jean opened her eyes to see Kieran staring at her, her cheeks felt hot from the bashfulness she felt. “What are you looking at so intently? And why does this taste like peaches?” He held a smile on his lips that could be seen from behind the cup. “I figured you might like it. Is that so bad?” “No, but I ho

They settled against each other bare skin wrapped in his large blanket. The movie still going until she could her the familiar thrum of a guitar. The words were barely detectable but Emma Jean didn’t need the words to know exactly what song was being played at that moment. She pulled the blanket closer around herself feeling the sadness building up. Kieran could feel the way her body was going stiff against his chest. He strained his ears to hear what could be causing it when the movie was just about over. He picked up on the soft words she sang along to the music. He knew then that she wasn’t alright. “Wake me up, Say enough is enough, I'm dying to live. Something's gotta give, Pull me out of this sinking town. I'm dying to live, Something's gotta give.” He pulled her closer into him hoping to let his body heat seep into her skin. There were no words he could say at that moment. Emma Jean turned her head to the side, trying to avoid his gaze. It wasn’t fair to him that she was using him this way but, any pain was better than the pain she was feeling deep within her soul. She could tell even through his fumbling that he was treating her like she was precious. The idea that he wanted to be gentle with her didn’t cross her mind. She assumed it was because he was concerned about what to do with a woman’s body and worried how this will affect their friendship. She spread her legs thinking he needed the help. Kieran had kissed down to the top of her panties, with her legs spread he kiss her inner thigh. He felt her shudder under his lips. His finger poked at her nub. Her back arched at the contact. His face buried against her mound. Inhaling her essence, he kissed her southern lips through the satin material. Emma Jean felt herself wetting her panties. Whether it was her natural juices or his saliva it made it feel better. “Are you sure?”
