Chapter 30

I end up leaving the party early and Mum isn't pleased at all when I head out without her. Did I overthink? Maybe she didn't plan anything. Even if she did, meeting both Wade Rider and Panda King when I am dressed like this is the worst thing that could happen.   My head is slightly hurting after being exposed to the loud music, dancing and drinks. We came in a taxi so I'll have to call another one to get home.   It's still early and Mum will probably take longer so I can walk around for a while and clear my head. I'm still hungry after eating a lot of the snacks. Maybe the dancing made me burn it off.   Walking out of the gates and onto the street, I check on my phone for the nearest shop. It's fifteen minutes away. Following the map on my phone, I walk down.    The street lamps are on already, illuminating the dark streets. As I continue on my way, loud voices distract me. Listening carefully,

Chapter 31

"Tina, come out and talk to me."    I groan and stand up. "Why Mum? There's nothing to tell you."   "You didn't even wait to meet Bryan." She says through the door.   Bryan?    "Who?" I ask in confusion and open the door.   She walks inside my room and sits down on the bed. "Aunt Camellia's son. He was looking forward to meeting you."   I roll my eyes, "So that was your plan. You wanted me to meet him."   "I know my daughter is clever." She smiles happily.   "Well, I had other things on so I had to leave. Anyway, I'll be going back tomorrow morning Mum." I say.    "You and Liana must be close." She smiles.   "Huh?"    "Does she have a brother? Maybe I should try to set you up with–" She drifts off into her dream world.

Chapter 32

As I get ready to go to the beach, I grin. Shall I ask Ciarra to come along? She mentioned that she has recently moved here so she doesn't know many people. And this will help Panda to get used to women so he can overcome his phobia. It's only been a day since we met but Ciarra doesn't seem like someone who would lie. She wants to be friends doesn't she? This is a great opportunity for me to get myself another friend. I frown. How should I explain my male persona to her?  Texting her, she immediately replies to tell me she is free. Panda will refuse if I ask him directly. We will just meet up at the beach.  "Are you ready?" He asks as he picks up a backpack. "Yes, let's go." I smile happily.  "You seem excited." Pan says, watching me. "I'm not." I say nonchalantly.  ***

Chapter 33

"I'm going to go for a swim." Ciarra smiles before wading further.   "I'll come in a bit." I say. I should head back to check on Panda King. Who knows what orders he has for me.   Walking back, Pan is now sat up. He is watching me. I wave and grin as I near him. "Pan! Are you not going to play in the water?"   "You seemed to be having fun with your girlfriend so I didn't want to disturb." He says coldly. Why is he angry?   "Girlfriend?" Did he see me with Ciarra and misunderstand? "Oh, you mean Ciarra?"   "Do you think I'm stupid enough to be fooled? You planned to meet her for a date beforehand didn't you?" Pan says, glaring at me with his blue eyes which match the sea.   "Why are you so worked up?" I ask and stare at him curiously. I was actually planning on introducing them to each other.   "So that's the type of women you like." He co

Chapter 34

"Help! Help! Someone is drowning!" The woman who was playing with Tin Gold earlier screams as she stumbles onto the shore. Panda King instantly stands up and runs towards her. "What did you say?"  She stares up at him with big brown eyes and falls onto her knees on the sand. "Tin! Tin got hit by the wave!" "What?!" Panda shouts loudly.  Without a moment of hesitation, he runs towards the water and swims away. His heart is heavy and beating anxiously as he swims. Tin can't be hurt! He won't allow anyone or anything to hurt his bodyguard. He won't accept even a wave to hurt Tin. As he frantically searches the sea, his heart sinks. He can't give up. Tin is definitely somewhere here. Something glistens on the surface of the water and as he swims towards it, he realises that it is red blood. Diving fast into the water, he glances around.

Chapter 35

Shivering, I wrap the blanket tighter around me. We will have to stay overnight here. Panda has been acting strange since earlier but I don't pay attention to it because he has been weird since we arrived at the beach. I know it's because of Ciarra. Is he actually jealous that Ciarra is my friend? "You can sleep on the bed, I'll sleep on the sofa." Pan says, walking in with a new set of clothes. I've changed clothes too because my other ones were soaked through. I am still in disbelief that Pan rescued me. Does he care for me because I am his bodyguard? "Sure." I nod and lie down. Usually, he would want to share the bed without hesitation. This is good too though, so I can sleep comfortably. I wonder if Ciarra has returned home or is she staying here too? I haven't seen her after I came back. There's no text message or call.  "Pan." I whisper in the dark. I am still feeling extremely cold. My bo

Chapter 36

After Panda has made sure that my fever is down, we set off for home. It feels weird being driven around by Panda King himself. He has been acting on edge and jumpy since yesterday. I still don't know what has made him nervous.   I check my phone again for any messages from Ciarra but there is nothing. I just want to know if she is okay. I was actually planning to introduce Pan and Ciarra to each other but I guess I'll have to wait for another time.   "You've been checking your phone a lot." Pan says glancing sideways at me as he drives.   "I'm just wondering if Ciarra is alright." I confess.   He smirks, "Your girlfriend is fine. If she really cared about you, she would have contacted you."   "What's so funny?" I ask in irritation. Is he laughing at me?   "Nothing." He says and reverts back to his poker face as he drives.   I look out of

Chapter 37

Lying on my back, I stretch myself out on the bed. Home sweet home. I never thought I would ever call this huge mansion a "sweet home" but here I am. "Tin." I hear Liana's soft voice from outside. "Come in." I quickly sit up as she walks inside. She stares at me with concern in her blue eyes. "Are you okay now Tin? Pan told me what happened." Her eyes water up and before I know it, she is in tears. Grabbing the box of tissues on my bedside table, I hold it out to her and pat the space next to me. "I'm okay now. Don't worry. Sit down Liana." I say gently. She sniffles and sits next to me, her eyes still watering. "I was so worried when Pan told me." She sobs into my chest. I glance down at her head. What should I do? I am still wearing my binder on my chest so I should be fine for now. Hesitantly, I bring my hand towar

Chapter 38

Refusing to explain the kiss, I cry endlessly into Wade's arms. It feels nice to be comforted by someone like this. No wonder Liana came to me. As my brain reloads and my senses return, I understand the reason why I am upset. It sounds petty and childish but I know the reason Pan kissed me was to distract me and stop me arguing with him. It was foul play.  On the other hand, my heart couldn't appreciate the kiss because I only now realise that there is something else I feel for Panda King.  Something more than a business relationship, something deeper than friendship and something which is threatening to overcome my being. How did I end up having this feeling for none other than Panda King?! Tina Gold is in love with Panda King. The ridiculousness of this whole situation would have made me laugh on a normal day but after the kiss, I have realised th

Chapter 39

TW: Cancer _____________________________ On the drive home, my mind has become a battleground. After discovering that it was Panda King who saved me that night from Theodore Emmet, a part of me feels warm and happy. However, the better part of me is still feeling angry with Pan.   The mystery behind why I awoke naked still remains. I know that he didn't do anything to me but what exactly happened after I blanked out?   "Tin, are you still angry at me?" Pan asks into the silence.   I roll my eyes, "What do you think?"   "I didn't mean to do it." He says apologetically.   Switching the engine off, I step outside. The night air feels nice against my face. I stand there for a few minutes, smiling as the breeze grazes across me.   "Tin, you know I didn't kiss you on purpose." Pan says from behind me.   My face scrunches up in a
