I stared out the window trying to catch a glance at the streets, but it was beginning to get dark and just left me wondering which packs had arrived. I climbed into bed wishing I could just sleep through the next four days. My birthday and the carnival would all pass by, and there wouldn’t be so much tension and pressure.6am came too soon.Farah's knock always made me smile, it was just so... her. When I opened the door however, it wasn't just Farah, the makeup and hair ladies had decided to tag along. They hurried me through the shower and whisked me and Farah into basic hair and makeup today. Farah had picked out my clothes today, bringing me out a yellow floor length dress that we had purchased the day before. It was much like a spaghetti strap on top, form fitting, but with sheer and flowy short sleeves, and a sheer overlay as it tapered out from my waist.I slipped into some comfy, dark colored flats, and watched as Farah slipped into a purple sun dr

I was consumed in watching them, the way they looked at each other and softly grasped at one another’s arms made it seem like they were just two halves of the same person, never meant to be apart. They were tunnel visioned to each other, never breaking their sight from one another or caring what was going on around them as they fell heavier and heavier into each other. As we all stood there watching their bond unfold, I could feel Echo’s longing for that to be us, she was like a giant puppy, lapping up all the emotions between them in awe. It was heavy, it was pure, it was everything. I was starting to understand what Echo had been saying, allowing myself to picture how it would feel to have that kind of unfiltered love, and maybe even crave that for myself.“Well,” Jacob interrupted the moment with a boasting laugh, “if that isn’t a good sign, I don’t know what is!” Jacob’s Beta had ushered Farah and her mystery ma

Farah already had her mark and I audibly gasped as I took it in. My jaw must have been on the floor as I remained staring at it, I knew marks resembled their mates, who ultimately complemented them to the fullest, but it was the perfect shade of blue for her. “It’s not fully healed yet, that takes a few days,” she moved her shirt over slightly to reveal the whole mark.“I knew it! Spill Farah, spill now!” I demanded.I knew what marking and mating entailed, but it was somehow still such a mystery, something that was unique to each wolf so it was something that no one could quite explain properly. She sat across from me and spilled her heart out as Claire fussed with her hair, and Abby moved onto her when my makeup was complete.I was in awe at everything she was telling me, it was hitting me in all the right places and making me ache for that chance. Echo was lapping it up and making mental notes for later, even though I’m sure she knew exactly what to

My eyes widened as my lungs filled with the smell that I had been longing for all day, and I heard his rough voice from behind me as I turned looking for him, "Avi... you look... stunning."I locked into his light brown eyes but I was still frantic, searching and waiting for Echo to help me, but she was absent. My heart was racing, where the hell was she, I needed her and she was gone. I tried registering the scent on my own, focusing on what I was feeling, but what I was searching for seemed just beyond my grasp.I felt his comfort radiate towards me, his eyes burning into my own, trying to take away all my anxiety and soothe my nerves as he took a step towards me. 'Echo what the hell!’ I hissed at her. Maybe I had felt the mate bond the whole time with him, maybe there was no big reveal.'There's nothing here for us Avi,’ her voice was softer than I wanted. I wanted her to yell, I wanted her to scream, I wanted to fee

As soon as we arrived at the Carnival the atmosphere was light and fun filled, the air filled with scents of sweet treats and playful but competitive, testosterone. There were little pups running from food booth to food booth, couples completely immersed with each other, and older members of the pack just taking it all in.I walked with Troy through the crowds for a bit, taking in everyone’s excitement and anticipation. We stopped to grab a drink from one of the many vendors when I noticed Troy's face was not as chipper as everyone else's and I immediately felt guilty."I'm sorry you are stuck babysitting me today instead of enjoying this with Cheyenne," I said softly to Troy."I'm happy to be here with you Octavia," he smiled at me, "she will be here all day with me tomorrow.""Will you still be happy here if we are on the Ferris wheel?" I asked mischievously as I glanced behind him to where it stood. I knew he wasn't a huge fan of heights, but it
