Fly Your Feather Wings Before I Cut Them

SABIN DRAGGED HER OUT OF THE ROOM. Leaving Matt's sleeping body behind.Hurrying down the narrow hallway, she started to panic once again. Would they hurt their fellow Pack-mate? They couldn't. She had family in that Pack; her nan and mother were a part of this Pack."Harlow, You need to move faster." A loud growl came, and she stopped, nearly toppling to the ground from Sabin's hold on her arm. She took one look over her shoulder, only to see a grey wolf crouched down in the hallway; his ears were flattened, and drool dripped from his sharp teeth. Sabin cursed under his breath when the werewolf suddenly decided to sprint its way to them. Protectively, she was pushed back, bumping into the nearest wall. Harlow gritted her teeth together; seeing Sabin's broad shoulders made her stiffen in anger; this was his fault. What was he going to do? Was he going to use that demonic power he had or was he going to shift

I Caught Myself

EVERYTHING HURT.    Opening her eyes, she felt the wetness on her cheeks as she squinted up at the harsh lights shining down on her. Harlow couldn't help but feel a sense of deja vu wash through her. She'd experienced something similar to this before. A groan left her lips, cringing at the pain in her body- the most pain came from her head and her gut, which was most likely from the burning pain, followed by the darkness that was always welcomed by her body. It was far better to be unconscious rather than conscious. 'Why does this keep happening to me?' Her lungs felt as if an endless amount of cigarettes damaged them because she was struggling to breathe for some odd reason. 'Oh, God.' Sucking in a deep breath, she tried sitting forward but couldn't. Something thick held her down; they were clinging on her wrists and ankles. Panic overwhelmed her, and she released a small cry; she attempted wiggling out of the straps, using her puny strengt

Far From Home

"LOOK, THIS WASN'T MY IDEA," Kane spoke the silence, breaking the silence in the cramped room. Numerous thoughts were swarming in her head as she rocked back and forth on the other bed, hugging her legs to her chest. About an hour ago, a man had entered the room and, ignoring her pleads, placed a tray of food at the end of their beds. Harlow almost heaved at the sight of them; the bread, milk, cold vegetables, and a burrito appeared to be expired. She didn't even bother touching it; for all she knew, it could've contained poison or drugs. Kane had sniffed his bread before tossing it across the room with a sigh. Now, the two of them were in their provided, uncomfortable beds listening to the occasional passing footsteps outside the door. She gritted her teeth together. "Honestly, I could care-less about your stupid ideas right now, Kane." "I know you're curious, Dollface," he replied earnestly, tossing the bouncing ball back and forth in hi

You Have Two Choices, Which One Will You Pick?

"YOU'RE A BRAVE GIRL, HARLOW," Amanda said, her dark eyes watching as one of her fellow scientists pulled the needle out of her arm. Wincing, Harlow felt the numbness at the tips of her fingers- 'I need Michael.' Almost an hour ago, Amanda had sent guards to the room, dragging her away from an exhausted Michael who'd tried to fight them off. Then, she was forced into a small, cramped room where scientists didn't hesitate to start taking her blood, studying her body and running tests in annoying machines in the corner. Everything about this felt like a bad dream she couldn't wake up from; everything Harlow knew about the world before this was so off. Back then, she saw Michael as a crazed enemy, and the Pack that had taken in her mother and herself were the ones who were sane. Boy was that far from the truth. These people were far from merciful.  Harlow looked down at the straps on her wrists, locking her down in the uncomfortable, reclined chair. These

Do We Have A Plan?

AMANDA RIPPED THE STRAPS FROM HARLOW, her nails slicing at Harlow's skin. Despite the awaiting guard at the door, Harlow bolted out of the chair to escape, only to have her knees buckle beneath her from blood loss.Dizzy, Harlow crumbled to her hands and knees, finding herself staring at Amanda's perfectly, pointy high-heels. Vomit was crawling its way up her throat, yet Harlow kept swallowing it down- their exhausting tests had made her sick. She breathed in deep breaths, knowing she needed to keep oxygen flowing to her brain to stay awake. One of Amanda's high-heels connected with her forehead, and Harlow released a yelp, falling onto her side. Black spots filtered her vision, and frantically, she blinked them away, flinching at the pain in her head- a headache was inevitable. Harlow watched in frustration, listening to the blaring sirens, as her high-heels lacked against the floor, away from her."Grab her!" Amanda sneered, gesturing towards her. The burly guard rus

I Don't Give A...

"HARLOW, HE'S DOWN THE CORRIDOR," Kane said, gesturing with his arm. Another man came hustling around the corner, his gun aimed. As Kane protected her with his body, Sabin lunged forward, twisting the gun from the guard's hands with a groan. She watched in admiration as Sabin smacked the gun into the guard's nose, sending blood flying across his determined face. The guard, barely conscious. In anger, Sabin kicked his leg and spit the blood onto the stained floor, twirling the gun in his hands, cockily. Kane nodded before looking towards her, his dark eyes swarming with emotions. "Last door on the right- go to him." "What a-about you two?" She stuttered, breathing heavily. Kane pinched his lips together. "My brother's emotions are everywhere, Harlow." Sabin raised his gun and aimed it towards the corner, prepared for more guards. "The drugs have him a mess; you need to speak with him." She assumed Kane was feeling Michael's emotions through the

Layers Of A Facade

BURSTING OUTSIDE, HARLOW PUSHED HERSELF CLOSER TO MICHAEL, frantically searching around for the others. Drew was leading them, sprinting through the dirt circling in the air.  In the hectic movement, her gut screamed something that seemed off. Everything around felt bizarre like unreal...nothing made sense. For one, why was Kane helping them? When they'd first met, he had one motive- to kill Michael, and Harlow couldn't help but think that sort of motive doesn't just go away so quickly, not without a good reason. So, what reason did Kane have to be siding with them? Two, Harlow couldn't figure out Sabin's part in all of this was. Her mind couldn't wrap around the fact that these two people were Michael's siblings, as about Michael! Like the one of a tornado warning, a loud siren was blaring- it was a bother to werewolves like her due to their amplified hearing. Michael kept wincing, along with Kane and Drew. Her feet slapped against the ground frantically as she

It Can't Be True! I Don't Believe You!

HARLOW HAD THOUGHT WAKING UP TO AN ALARM WAS BAD, but waking up to someone who was about to smash her bones into pieces was ten times worse."Get up bitch, and I don't have all day for this." It was Mille. The girl, her gym coach, had paired her up with; Harlow had convinced him to let her participate again, without her Mother knowing, of course. At the time, she thought it was a brilliant idea but now...not so much. Millie's knuckles were hitting her repeatedly, and, judging by her tone, she was annoyed. The first thought that came to mind was: What's she's doing in her room? However, her violence caused retaliation from her, and her fist was the first thing that moved, blindly hitting anywhere until it reached something hard.A scream followed, and it was enough to make Harlow go deaf. Her eyes snapped open to the view of what had transpired, and the sight that greeted her was something she had prayed to happen since she met Millie at train

True Colours

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Michael dragged her to an empty room and then locked the door while throwing her to the ground. His angry tone didn't affect her anymore because she wasn't only angry; she was livid. Harlow stood up courageously and blushed off the nonexistent dust. "You wanna know why I'm here?" She mentally applauded herself and kept herself under control as her voice didn't waver once.Michael stared at her for a second, then turned around, punching the wall with his fist, creating a very deep dent. Well, wasn't he strong? It confused her, his bizarre behaviour, as she didn't say anything to anger him...at least, she didn't think she did.He sucks a hypocrite, he tells he to control herself, yet he does the opposite himself. 'Ugh! Fucking hypocrite! I hate you!'"Why did you do?" She asked, staring at his back, which was toned in all the right places. 'Dammit! focus Harlow.'"Do what?" He replied. Harlow's eyes ro

Grief Is A Funny Thing

GRIEF IS A FUNNY THING, some feel the sadness inside them, and as a result, they can't stop but cry. They can't stop thinking about all their memories before everything went wrong, wishing how they had a little bit more time. Harlow wished she was one of them. She felt nothing, nothing at all. The numbness inside her was far more significant than anything she had felt before; at first, she thought that her body and mind had had enough of the unfortunate events in her life over a couple of months, and it was too much. Her body couldn't keep up, not anymore. Every movement she made didn't seem like her own, walking around like some Zombie, a brainless creature.Maybe this sort of reaction was expected, normal even, but she couldn't help but feel like the watchful eyes of her Pack-mates judging her for it. For not feeling like she was some freak. At this point, she felt like she deserved their judgement; everything they might be thinking, she agreed wi
