21- Fevered

In short order, Scott had an overnight bag packed, thanks to direction from Rayan, who lay curled up in his blanket on the bed. It gave Scott a chance to explore the tiny place. Rayan really didn't have much, a few clothes in the tiny closet, and practically no clutter to speak of. He wanted to check the fridge and cabinets too, partly out of curiosity and partly out of concern, but for the time being he decided it was best not to pry too much. Scott found Rayan's collar on the floor in the bathroom, figuring that once Rayan was feeling better, he'd want to wear it again. His suppressant meds were by the sink. "Okay, I've got your stuff together. Hairbrush, toothbrush, everything. You'll need to put on pants. Would these pajama bottoms I found be okay?" Scott pulled a shabby pair of plaid pants out of the closet and held them up for approval. "Yeah..." Rayan sat up and held out his hand. Scott tossed them over. Rayan wiggled them on without

22- Getting Comfortable

Scott resisted the urge to carry him, instead he guided him back to the main room, where Rayan graciously flopped down on the couch. "I've got a trashcan here if you need it." Scott took Rayan's blanket from the back of the couch and covered him up. "And we can put whatever you want on Netflix." Rayan peeked out at him from under the covers. "Whatever you want... Is fine..." "Here, lift your head a second." Scott sat next to Rayan on the couch, and placed Rayan's head in his lap. He set CSI episodes to play on the tv, then started stroking Rayan's hair. "Cuddle Bug?" "Yeah, Hot Stuff?" "I'm... glad you're not mad at me..." "I couldn't get mad over something like this. You can't help it if you're sick." Rayan's eyes were unfocused, picking out non-existent patterns in the ceiling. "Did you know...? Alphas are really sc

23- Calling Out

"LET ME UP! LET ME UP! LETMEUP!!!" Scott woke up to Rayan frantically tearing his arms away and throwing the blanket off. He ran off to the bathroom before Scott could even grab the trashcan. "D-don't come in here!" Rayan ordered as he slammed the bathroom door. The noise that followed indicated his emptying out of an entirely different orifice. What time was it? They must have fallen asleep at some point. The television was stuck on the 'Are you still watching?' screen. Scott stretched, several joints popping. He checked his phone. It was nearly 2am. Scott waited an appropriate amount of time, taking the opportunity to change into some sleepware, then gently tapped on the door. "You okay in there?" he asked. A moaning "I'm... okaaay..." was his reply. Scott went back to the living room and measured out another dose of medicine, stifling a yawn. He went ahead

24- Feeling Better

Rayan took a moment to get himself together before he made his second phone call. This one was short and sweet. The person in the other end didn't make any fuss as far as Scott could tell. Rayan even ended it with a "thank you." Scott gave Rayan a kiss on the cheek and got up to get him a dose of Tylenol, his hormone suppressant, and a cold Gatorade. "How's your stomach, Hot Stuff? Need some Pepto too?" "No, my stomach feels okay... But my head hurts..." Scott handed over the pills and the drink. "This should help. I'll get you a fresh cold compress. Are you hungry? I can make toast, or I've got oatmeal? If you're not up for eating, there's plenty of the broth from last night?" "Maybe... a piece of toast...?" Rayan wasn't particularly hungry. His extremities felt languid. He knew it had to be from not eating nearly two days straight. Even if he couldn't finis

25- Morning Predicament

It was getting close to dinner time, and right as Scott decided to call it quits, Rayan's stomach growled quietly. They settled on salad, as Rayan really didn't want to think about sandwiches for a while and Scott didn't want him eating anything too greasy yet. It was something Scott would have to go pick up, so Rayan bummed the use of his shower while he was gone. He vaguely remembered maybe having one yesterday, but in all honesty, the past few days were kind of blurry. He didn't like to go more than a day without showering, it made him feel gross. Scott had

26- Three Words

They rolled out of bed, both very pointedly not saying anything about tents no matter how noticeable they were. The two of them were definitely just a little pink in the face over the whole thing. Luckily, the issues subsided soon enough. Scott made each of them a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee, and they sat down for a lazy breakfast. He actually had a ton of different stuff to put in the oatmeal, so Rayan doctored his with chocolate chips and a banana. Scott had apple chunks, walnuts, and honey in his. He had the EXPENSIVE coffee too. The chocolate chips were even a name brand! Rayan was thinking this had to be heaven.

27- Sleepover

"Hey, sorry I missed your call a few days ago, bro. I was riding high on the horny–mone train. You didn't leave a message or call back or nothing, so I just assumed things were Gucci." The overnight shift at the shipping company started half an hour ago. It was just Michael and Rayan loading a small truck, their other teammate, Jack, had been pulled to work the forklift for the warehouse.

28- Covering The Bases

"Cuddle Bug, do you think I'm attractive?" Scott was a little taken aback by the bluntness of the question, but answered immediately, "When I first saw you at the grocery, I stayed in your line on purpose, just for a chance to talk to you. When you came to my clinic, and the sunlight from the windows hit you just right, I had butterflies. When you agreed to our first date, I could barely restrain myself from doing cartwheels down the hall. If I could tell myself then, that you would be in my bed now, I would have called myself a liar."

29- Maybes and Somedays

The promise of food was enough to get them going. Scott didn't press when Rayan changed behind the bathroom door, even though they came close to something much more intimate the night before. Even if, in all honesty, he wouldn't mind getting to see Rayan's ass again, some things you just couldn't rush. Sometimes, the timing had to be right. Rayan on the other hand, had his wheels turning all morning about what happened the night before. He decided that yes, he was ready for things to go to the next level. What he was stuck on was the other bit of information Scott had given him. Both now dressed, they made their way from the apartment to the parking garage, hand in hand. Scott had braided Rayan's hair again, and was not only carrying his work bag, but Rayan's overnight bag as well. Scott glanced over at his boyfriend, who appeared lost in thought. "Penny for your thoughts?" "Let's... get to your car

30- Needing A Break

Rayan needed a hug more than anything right now. He checked his phone. It was almost 9. Scott was most definitely at work already. He opened today's "good morning" text, received an hour and a half ago, complete with a kissy face emoji. It made him feel just a little better, the idea that Scott thought of him when he woke up. He sent back: [Good morning! I love you!]
